Property description

A fantastic Manor House set in the beautiful West Dorset countryside and close to the Jurassic coast. This luxurious property boasts its own 12 meter swimming pool (open mid- April to the end of September) and 6 acres of secluded grounds. The property was completely renovated in 2011 so has all the modern conveniences but maintains its old charm.
This property is ideal for large groups to enjoy whatever the weather. Great for families, groups of friends or corporate guests wishing a peaceful and stress free holiday. A great place to relax or be active all year round! Explore the fabulous countryside or relax in the house and enjoy good company.
Many of our guests never leave the property during their stay! At only 2.5 hours from London it makes the perfect getaway all year round and a fantastic retreat for the school holidays.

The house has the following layout.

Ground floor: Large well equipped Kitchen/Breakfast Room with AGA and a large farmhouse table with benches for casual dining, Elegant Dining Room with seating for 12 with comfortable seating for 2 in arm chairs by the fire place, Living Room with seating for 12 guests, Laundry Room with washing machine, tumble dryer and additional fridge and freezer, Boot Room/Boiler room, cloak room. There is large real fire place in the dining room and a log burner in the kitchen/diner (logs are provided).

First Floor; Master Bedroom with king-size half tester bed, 2nd Master Bedroom with king-size bed, large bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle with power shower, one bedroom with a double bed together with an on-suite bathroom with power shower over bath and one bedroom with two single beds.

Second Floor; Two Bedrooms, both with two single beds and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle with power shower.

Garage Block; Fitness Room with treadmill, weight machine and cross-trainer, mini pool table and table tennis table.

Outside; the swimming pool is heated and 12 meters in length with a constant depth of 1.2 meters. The pool is normally opened mid-April to late September. There is over 6 acres of paddocks and woods to roam about and for children to explore. Being 100 meters off the village lane it is very quiet and safe from traffic. The grounds are a haven for wildlife including dragonflies, butterflies and numerous birds.
There is ample parking for many cars.

Inside entertainment includes 5 flat screen TV's with two full SKY systems (All channels, SKY Movies, SKY Sports and BT Sports) plus a DVD player and a PS3 Game Console together with a collection of games and DVD’s. There is a small pool table, table tennis and board games.

You can walk directly off the property on to miles of public footpaths with glorious views of the coast and the surrounding hills. The coastal path is 15 minutes’ walk away. The Fleet is home to numerous sea birds, wild life and the famous Abbotsbury swans. This area is one of the most stunning and magical in the country.

West Dorset is a unique area with stunning scenery and a rich history. The famous Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site. The drive from the village along the coast to Bridport is simply stunning. The famous Abbotsbury Swannery is a 10 minute drive or 1.5 hours walk from the property. Attractions such as Lulworth Castle and Cove, Hardy’s Cottage, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Stourhead, Sherborne, are all within 30-60 minutes’ drive.

The Area

Located just outside the beautiful coastal village of Langton Herring, only 10 minutes’ drive away are the sandy beaches at Weymouth, rated among the top 5 beaches in the UK. The National Sailing Centre is 15 minutes’ drive. West Bay and its beach are 20 minutes’ drive. Dorchester with its new Brewery Square development is 20 minutes’ drive and offers numerous restaurants and a brand new Odeon Cinema. The other main attractions of West Dorset are numerous and all within 30-45 minutes’ drive. There are many places to eat including the local pub, The Elm Tree, a 10 minute walk from the house. Here they serve good food and specialise in seafood. Our favorite places to eat include Hive Beach Café (Burton Bradstock – 20 mins), The Crab House Café (Wyke Regis – 15 mins), The Manor House, West Bexington – 15 mins), Yarbury Cottage, (Lower Bockhampton – 20 minutes)

A unique house in a quiet location with beautiful scenery. The walking in the area and the views of the coast are simply stunning. The village is unspoiled and the surrounding country teeming with wildlife. It really is an oasis but within easy reach of major attractions.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Seclusion and peace but only a 10 minute walk to the village pub! Lying by the pool in our own little eco-climate (we have a palm tree in the garden). Watching the sun go down over 60 miles of coast only 100 yards from our home. Getting away from it all and wanting nothing when we're home.
