My husband and I live in Bend, and try to get to the coast twice a year. This year my parents were visting from Georgia, and my Mother just LOVES the Oregon Coast and wants to be front and center to see and hear the Ocean. This home does appear to offer that from the photos, but apparently there's been some major storms making the dunes amazingly high this winter, as you could barely see the ocean from the living room which was a bit of a dissapointment. However, the Master Bedroom had a wonderful view still and my parents enjoyed that immensely! Those cozy lounging chairs in there were a nice touch, and they spent thier early mornings sipping tea and taking in the beautiful view. We loved the lay out of the home, as the bedrooms had good separation, and the nicer 2nd bedroom had a nice view of the Bay and Bridge in the Morning. The home was well stocked, nice roomy pantry to store your stuff, tea pot, coffe grinder, large electic griddle, even an espresso maker! The couches in the living room however are getting a bit tired. We used that large dining table every night for card games and dominos, and loved the big beautiful ceiling fans for when it got a little stuffy at night, you couldn't open the doors and windows when the neighbors are having a fire next door as the smoke blows in. We took long walks on the beach, one toward the Bay/Point and to our surprise we came upon about 50 harbor seals making their way up on the beach, it was amazing! There were seals of all ages swimming in the bay and lounging around, they were so cute! All in all, we had a nice time, the home was very comfortable. We could have done without the "middle school" that moved in next door to us for 4 days, as there were 10 children of all ages running across "our backyard" to the large dune next door from sun up to sundown, but that's just the luck of the draw I guess! We did have beautiful weather almost the whole trip and my parents really enjoyed that beautiful Master Bedroom and the whirpool tub! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, I know anyone renting this place will love it as well.

Owner response:We're glad to heat that you really enjoyed your stay, had nice weather, and liked the home. This last winter was indeed a sandy one with lots of new sand coming in. I had heard it might have been the worst winter for this over the last several decades. We had a bulldozer several times to level the sand behind the home (before your visit) and we have another sand removal scheduled in early June to get the dune back down so the view is closer to the photos on the website. So much came in this winter that we've had to level it off over several bulldozer visits. We do need to retire the living room couch this summer and have plans to buy a new one shortly--thanks for the reminder. Glad to hear your parents liked the new leather chairs in the master w/the view, new flatscreen TV, and Jacuzzi tub. We hear a lot of positive reviews on all the games, toys and the large great room. Hope you all come back again soon!

My family has never planned a trip that took us far from home but we had wanted to get out of California for a few days. After looking at several places online we went with Bella Vista from just viewing the pictures. I can honestly say the pictures are beautiful but does not compare to being there yourself. We drove up and it was a long drive but well worth it when we walked through the door. My family was blown away by how great the place was. The whole concept of the house was open and family oriented. We loved how we were able to cook in the beautiful kitchen, eat and still be able to interact with the kids in the living room and outside. The weather predicted for the days we were there at Bella Vista was suppose to be over cast with rain but it was nothing like predicted. The weather though cold did not produce any rain and the sun was out. There were tons of toys for inside and outside so the kids had a blast all day playing. We truly enjoyed our stay and was sad when it ended. The owners of Bella Vista truly understands what families need and want when on vacation. Everything was comfortable, family friendly, kid friendly and just all around great...and did I mention WONDERFUL....My sister's words were "just sitting in front of the living room window looking out towards the sand and ocean, you can't help but want to just smile and just feel happy..." Thank you so much for letting us stay...we hope to come back in the future.

We just loved this home. You can't beat that beach front for our 4 younger children. The beach was so private and my kids loved running around in the dunes between the beach and the house. The whole house felt very spacious. The bedrooms are very large. The toys were endless. It seemed every day my kids would dig into the closets and find a new box of toys to play with. This is such a must for waiting out the rain! Definitely the most kid friendly house we have stayed at in a long time (and we rent a lot). Florence and Newport are very close and made for great outings. I will say that my husband and I both thought this would be a nice place to come back to without the kids as well.

We had a great week at Bella Vista. The weather was wonderful and the sunsets were to die for! We all had a great time playing on the beach and finding the little sea creatures. We are heading to the coast of California in two days and we will miss this house greatly. We will be back!!! You will love this house!

Our first two days here it was bright and sunny, so we spent most of our time in the waves and on the beach. We also went to the Sea Lion Caves, which was awesome! We went to the Newport Aquarium which was spectacular! It was cool to look out the window and see seals and whales. Then we went on a walk by the water and saw a whole bunch of seals and sea lions. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Could not have wished for a better weekend of weather for crabbing and fishing. This house was a great spot to base our sport fishing adventure. The catch was good and hope to do it again.

What a view!!! We had a great time. Perfect place to introduce two kids to the ocean-3-year old and 1-year old. Could not keep them off the sand. We had great adventures every day. Sitting outside watching the ocean was a true vacation.

This is our 3rd year staying at Bella Vista and probably our best! The weather was beautiful for a majority of the week and the view was superb. My husband and I and our five kids and our two-year old grandson made wonderful memories yet again. We had never gone to Strawberry Hill and went based on the great comments of this book. It was wonderful, a must see for any age! I hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as we did.

What a great week—perfect weather. Father’s Day, 40th wedding anniversary and a birthday celebration—couldn’t have had a better time.Golfed everyday—terrific weather at both Salishan and Sandpines—unbelievable. We enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the ocean, watching the amazing sunsets every night and just taking long walks along the beach with our family and friends. Such a wonderful trip! We brought the whole family to celebrate my parents 30th anniversary-that’s two grandparents, two of their children, with spouses and three grandbabies. A perfect home for us all to enjoy being together and to marvel in the beauty of the Oregon coast. We had an amazing sunny day, a stormy day and something in between. I must say we had the best possible weather...kind of a little bit of everything...lots of sun, very warm temps...a little fog...a little drizzle (fog and light rain on the same day) and then sun and breezy. Full moon brought the low tides and that was really the best as we had incredible walks and found all kinds of shells...sand dollars, etc. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the fact that we were right on the beach and the views...well aren't they just the best?

What a perfect weekend we enjoyed! The house is so beautiful and comfortable and the setting couldn't have been better. Waking up to the ocean every morning was such a thrill. We thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful gourmet kitchen and Jacuzzi tub. My 3-year old daughter was in heaven with the toy closet. I think that we'll make this a yearly tradition.
