Our luxury apartment on the rue Bonaparte is in a district famous for its artists and writers. Manet was born up the street, Henry Miller stayed next door, and Picasso painted Guernica nearby. It is now a prime area for boutiques and antique dealers.
Two blocks down, you'll see the cafes that the Existentialists made famous and hear jazz musicians playing outside the Church of St. Germain des Pres. Yet the apartment, in a small eighteenth-century courtyard building, is remarkably quiet and private.
This 80-square-meter property (861 square feet) consists of a living room with sleeping alcove (the sofa converts to a double-size bed); a dining room with a table that seats 4-8 and a fully-wired study alcove; a bedroom with king-size bed and large separate dressing area; and a modern kitchen, bathroom, and toilet room. All four main rooms have windows with rooftop views, and there are two fireplaces as well as original moldings and distinctive French woodwork. It is furnished in antiques aside from bedding and comfortable chairs.
The Saint Germain Metro stop is a two-minute walk, the Mabillon stop is a minute further, and a bus across the street goes directly to Montmartre via the Louvre, the Opera, and Right Bank shopping districts. Notre Dame is a ten-minute walk.
We welcome tenants who want to rent for a month or longer and are also happy to accommodate singles and couples for a one-week minimum. An American agent who lives in Paris will greet you, help you with your luggage, and answer your questions.
This charming property is ideal for up to four people, but not for small children. It is located on the fourth floor, and while the views are great, we regrettably cannot accommodate wheelchairs as there is no elevator. Weekly cleaning and transportation to and from the airport are available. |
