My wife and I just spent the last three weeks in Sue's apartment on Rue Bonaparte. It is and was exactly what previous reviewers have mentioned. Great location, extremely comfortable, fully equipped and very spacious. The weather has not been the best these last three weeks but Sue's apartment definitely made the situation tolerable. We were so satisfied with everything that we are looking forward to returning to Paris and staying here again.

My family of three just returned from an eight day stay at this beautiful apartment. Words and pictures do not convey the authentic Parisian experience that we had. First, we were warmly greeted by Joanne who showed and explained everything to us. The apartment itself is gorgeous. I am very picky about where I stay, and the place is so atmospheric and super, super clean. There are some stairs to get up to the apartment, but that shouldn't deter anyone. There were times when we just bought cheese, bread and wine and stayed inside. The neighborhood is amazing. Everything you need is right outside. Laduree, Monoprix, and many beautiful stores and great restaurants are all steps away as is the Metro stop. Sue takes the guess work out of the trip and gives you a very detailed list of everything you could possibly want to do in Paris. The apartment also has guide books, a washer and dryer, and Wi-Fi. She also is extremely helpful. Once we returned from our overseas trip, my husband asked me what my favorite part of the trip was and I told him the Paris apartment. You will not want to leave it! My daughter is eager to return to Paris, and when we do, we will stay here again. I miss it already!

We spent ten days in this wonderful apartment in St. Germain-des-Prés in August and were very pleased to come home at the end of each day. The apartment is warm and is spacious for three people and would work nicely for four too. It was clean and well maintained and has everything essential you need for your stay, is close to art galleries, cafes, bakeries, the Louvre, musée d'Osrsay, metro, supermarket, famous sites.... Only note that it is a walk up -- no elevator & apartment is on the 4th floor, so you have to climb but you get used to it quickly and it becomes a little victory each evening noticing that you're climbing better and feeling good about it. Well, that's how it was for us, even at the end of very long days sightseeing. The owner and manager are very easy to deal to with and we would love to stay here the next time we're in Paris, if possible. The pleasant and professional driver who picked us up at the airport -- guaranteed pick up that we arranged through the owner and manager -- was waiting for us despite a couple of delays with our flight and we we're pleased to have that as peace of mind on arrival, and, especially, for our very early morning departure to our next destination. Loved this place and would highly recommend it to others. Best regards, Adrian & Loretta, Canada

We stayed in this apartment for the month of May, 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed its spaciousness, location, and the views of the Paris rooftops across the street. At first we thought the five-floor walk-up would be an issue and hinder our access. It is not for everyone, but we did get used to it. The apartment was spotless upon arrival and the property manager Joanne spent lots of time with us explaining how to use all the appliances. This was greatly appreciated. She also arranged for our airport pickup. Renting the apartment was extremely easy and the owner was very responsive and cooperative. It was great being able to pay for the apartment in dollars. The location can't be beat - between the Seine and Blvd. St. Germain. There are three or four English-speaking TV stations, a washer/dryer which was extremely helpful to have, and a very fast WiFi connection. Being able to make free phone calls to the US was an added benefit. We would return to this apartment again without reservation.
Owner response:Since the ad says "fourth floor" and this reviewer says "five-floor," we want to clarify. Because the French do not count the ground level as the first floor, we listed it as as "fourth floor." In any case, the stairs are shallow with landings at each half-floor level. They certainly exist but should not pose problems for people in reasonably good health.

We stayed in Sue's wonderful apartment for a week in February, when we expected Paris to be devoid of tourists (right, for the most part) because it was gloomy, dark, drizzly and cold (totally wrong!). To our delight we found warm, sunny days that were perfect for shirtsleeve walking -- this is the neighborhood for endless strolling -- and cool, sapphire-blue nights winding down around fireside dinners made with fresh ingredients carried home from the local specialty shops. What could be better? The apartment is very comfortable and contained everything we needed, including cooking staples. It was spotless and exactly as described. We used Sue's recommended driver to get to/from the airport, which was very convenient and reliable. The apartment has excellent security, is very roomy, and is flooded with light from the high ceilings and large, original windows. We made good use of the flawless wireless Internet and (unfortunately, because of work responsibilities) unlimited phone service to the US. Sue had arranged for a fresh supply of firewood for the working fireplace, which we enjoyed immensely. We stayed for a week and could have spent all of it exploring just within the neighborhood, which is full of charming shops, markets, patisseries, and restaurants of every kind. However, since the apartment is a short block from the Seine, the sun was always shining, and the Parisians were setting an inspiring example, we walked almost everywhere, risking sunburn -- in February! You couldn't ask for a better location, central yet secluded, accessible but quiet. Magnifique!

We just returned from a one week stay at Sue's apartment and it was lovely. The apartment is immaculate, well-equipped and actually larger than it appears in the photos. The location is ideally located...walking distance to the Seine, Louvre, D"Orsay, and other major attractions, and close to many wonderful restaurants and bakeries. We were travelling with two teenagers and were comfortable letting them go out at night alone in the neighborhood. Sue and her manager, JoAnne were very easy to work with. Sue provided a comprehensive guide to the apartment and the neighborhood, including a list of good local bakeries, markets and restaurants. Joanne told us where to shop and recommended restaurants and specialty foods to buy. We would rent from Sue again.

We stayed in Sue's beautiful apartment for 2 months in the spring of 2007. We are coming back to Paris for 6 weeks this spring and would love stay in her apartment again, but it is booked. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The location is perfect. A truly wonderful place to stay!

We just returned from 11 days in the apartment and now we want to live there! It's a lovely apartment in an incredible location - close to the sights but also to excellent shopping and MANY fantastic restaurants. The apartment itself is large and beautifully decorated as well as very comfortable. Sue's manager in Paris, Joanne, is incredibly helpful and nice, and the driver Sue recommended is also great. I was a little hesitant to stay in an apartment (this was my first time) - no concierge or hotel staff to help with the unexpected needs and questions - but Joanne makes herself very available and is a great help. The stairs may be a bit challenging for some but we appreciated the forced excercise after many rich meals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, and my husband and I hope to return soon.

We stayed here for a week in December, 2009 and would love to do so again. Perfect location, very nice apartment, well equipped for cooking, and easy to work with the owner and her agent. Thanks again.

We returned last evening from an absolutely wonderful holiday!!! We totally enjoyed Sue's apartment and found it to be lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the salon amid the lovely antiques and other artifacts, eating in the dining room, and even working in the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The location was unbeatable and we walked everywhere. Sue's agent was very organized and gave us a thorough tour upon our arrival. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect.

I have stayed in Sue's wonderful apartment twice. It is truly ideally located in the heart of Paris just down the block from Les Deux Margot and across the street from Laduree. There is also a Monoprix across the Blvd. Ste. Germaine that is very convenient to the apartment. The stairs up to the apartment can be a bit daunting the first day or two, but otherwise the apartment is fabulous in every way. Sue and her Paris managers are very helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again...and again...and again!

I stayed in Sue's beautiful apartment on rue Bonaparte for one week. It is by far the prettiest and most spacious apartment that I have rented in Paris. The location is the best as it is in the heart of St. Germain des Pres and also within walking distance of the right bank, the Louvre etc. It is well equipped and furnished with gorgeous antiques. It was my great privilege to stay here and I would not hesitate to rent it again. There is also a wonderful manager who speaks english and will explain everything about the apartment. She is also available for help if it is needed. This is truly a very Parisian apartment with all the comforts of home.

I have stayed in this apartment during my last three visits to Paris, 2006, 2008, 2009 and will be there again in 2011. I chose this apartment in 2006 for my first visit based on a few criteria. 1. it apartment was larger than most. 2. it was owned by someone in the USA who would take dollars and I could mail a check to, 3. it had an American upgraded bath and kitchen, 4. it had a king size bed, and 5. it had the best location and the French ambiance that I wanted in Paris. Every time I watch the movie “The Devil Wears Prada” I watch the scene where the lovers walk down the street that runs along the Seine with the Rose Window of Notre Dame in the background and I think, “we’re staying practically around the corner”. I love taking a late night stroll on the Pont du Carrousel to see the Seine and the Eiffle Tower before bedtime. This apartment has the most perfect location in Paris. And the interior is so French with the classic windows and wood trim. This is a most perfect and comfortable Parisian apartment, near wonderful restaurants and designer shops, very safe neighbor for walking and close to several metro lines which places all of Paris at your fingertips. Great owner and agent. Easy to do business with them. I enjoy each visit and long for the next one.
Owner response:Dear Nanette & Jeanna, THANK YOU so much for this lovely review. You are wonderful guests!
