Our family visited Holden Beach for the first time. We usually go to Myrtle, Cherry Grove, or Emerald Isle. The beach is gorgeous. The beach home was fantastic. Wonderful ocean views. It has an elevator which was great to have as one in our party needed assistance and it was a bonus bringing up the groceries! The owner was very responsive and accomodating. We will definitely be back!

I came here with a group of friends and I don't think the owners could have been any more flexible or polite considering we booked this very last minute. The house was perfect for the recommended group size of 8, with amazing views set on a beach that never got too busy. I really liked having a house on this end of the island, with many different stores and restaurants a short drive away, but the house was not on a busy street. I would definitely recommend working with these renters.

My family & I spent a week here last week and LOVED it! The views are the BEST! From the front we could see dolphins and from the back windows we watched a herd of deer including the Buck. It was Paradise. The house is very nice & comfortable. Irv is a great property owner & will work to ensure you have a good stay. We hope to return to this house next year or maybe Irv's other property that has the pool, but honestly the house was so great & the beach was so awesome that we did not miss having a pool. Thanks Irv!

I had not taken a vacation in more than 4 years. My wife insisted that I finally take one. I browsed the listings and found this property. The owner was very easy to deal with and extremely prompt in all his responses. We were able to secure the rental within hours. The property is lovely and very well maintained. The view from the upstairs living room is gorgeous! If you are looking for a quiet get away with proximity to all of the tourist areas (Myrtle Beach and Wilmington), this is the place for you! Thanks to Irv for the use of Hold-on-Beach!

This beautiful home is located on quiet Holden Beach with the Atlantic visible from the front and the Intracoastal waterway visible from the back. View of sunrises AND sunsets with a southern exposure to the ocean! Great views from all rooms, immaculately clean, well-stocked kitchen essentials, easy-to-contact owners. What more could anyone want from a vacation getaway? We will plan a return trip as soon as possible. Thanks, Irv and Nancy!

A spectacular home in an unparalleled setting! From owner hospitality to breathtaking sunset views, we could not have chosen a more perfect vacation spot. The home is immaculate and provides an array of relaxing options, from enjoying oceanfront views on one of the two decks to reading a novel or trying your hand at a lighthouse puzzle (also provided by the owners). We highly recommend both the property and the location - it was a memorable stay, and we will return! Thank you!

This house is wonderfully maintained and provided a relaxing place right on the beach. The house had HDTV with a flat screen, wireless internet access, and awesome views of the sunrise and sunset. We loved it here and would recommend it to anyone.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review. The south-facing beach (and house full of oceanfront windows) really do allow the sun to bask in off the ocean from sunrise-to-sunset from October to early April. We like the neighborhood so much, we built a new house down the street and plan to retire there. Irv

My husband and I stayed at Hold-On-Beach for a week in Sept. The house, the view, the weather, everything was perfect. The house was one of the cleanest houses and nicest we had ever seen. The location was perfect. You could see the sun rise and the sun set. We watched the hundreds of dolphins (yes I mean hundreds - it was during a fishing tournament) right from the upper deck. Even after the tournament was over we watched families of dolphins from the deck. We watched and heard the ocean every moment of the day. The house was fully equiped with every thing you could possibly need. The owner was great to work with and couldn't have been more accommodating. Yes we will be back.
Owner response:I am honored to get such a glowing review from someone who goes by the nick-name "PickiPickiPicki." At Hold-on-Beach and Pelican Watch (new house w/ pool), we thrive to give better service, early check-ins when available, and more personalized touches than management companies would ever provide. My wife and I own these 2 houses, plan to retire in one of them and really appreciate and value our rentors. Irv

Fantastic rental. Entire experience was great to include interaction with the owner, location of rental, local people, and surrounding area. If you have a family and just want to get away from all the hustle and bustle, this is an ideal spot.

Just a wonderful home in an incredible setting. If you're looking for a place where three couples can simply chill out and enjoy the beach, this is it. The house has an inverted floor plan where the top floor is the living area. Each of the three main bedroom has it's own bath. One of them shares the bath with a fourth bedroom that has two twins beds. All of the mattresses are comfortable. The place even has an elevator in case you have someone who has trouble with stairs or, if you are like us, too lazy to carry luggage two flights. The place is decorated in a light and airy way - perfect for the beach. The beach area where the house is located is simply spectacular. It is quite private at this end of Holden Beach and just plain wonderful. We couldn't recommend the place more.

Our family enjoyed our week setting on Holden Beach. The beach was excellent, quiet and without the hassel of a large number of people. The house had all of the necessary amenitites.

Four generations, aged 7 to 93, had a wonderful time at Hold-On Beach. The elevator made is possible for the 93 yr old matriarch to easily come and go, even though she is confined to a wheelchair. The house was well furnished and eqiupped. With a few portable accessories for handicapped travelers (such as toilet seat riser), she was able to enjoy the home and to watch from the balcony as her children through great-grandchildren walked on the beach and played in the surf. The easy beach access was wonderful for taking the children out to burn off a little energy several times a day--and the views were magnificent. We are planning to return to Hold-On Beach; it is definitely our best beach rental yet for our family's Mother Day get together.
Owner response:Regarding accessibility... we have incorporated some improvements for wheelchair/walker access into Pelican Watch, the new house. Wider doors, grab-bars, level decking from pool to elevator, etc. We'll welcome you back to Hold-On-Beach or Pelican Watch.

We stayed as a family at Hold on Beach during spring break in March. It is a very comfortable cottage in a perfect location. The view of the ocean is wonderful--it's so nice to wake up to the waves. And on our last night, we had a beautiful sunset at one end of the beach as the full moon was rising at the other end. We found lots of shells and did lots of walking. All in all, it is a very peaceful place. And the owners are extremely helpful.

This is a beautiful cottage. We met family here for a mini reunion and had a wonderful time. Everyone was pleased with the cottage and commented how nice it was. Holden Beach is a quite family beach where you can ride bikes on sidewalks, take long walks and enjoy the beach. If you seek entertainment, you can travel 45 mins. to either Myrtle Beach or Wilmington. We hit Myrtle Beach a few times and enjoyed coming back to peace and quite. The owners are great people to work with and take care of their second home. Very pleased : )

Recipe to be a family hero: 1. Rent Hold-on-Beach. 2. Invite family. 3. Everybody loves the house and thinks you are a genius. Seriously, a beautifully and fully furnished house (includes spices!) on a quiet, scenic beach.
Owner response:Glad you and the family enjoyed Hold-On-Beach! We've added bicycles, additional beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Some basic food staples, spices, supplies are generally available. We welcome feedback. Have added iron and ironing board, based on a request. Don't really know why someone wants pressed clothes at the beach, but we try to please. Irv

My husband and I with 2 friends stayed at Hold On Beach in May. The place was beautiful and very well stocked and kept. If its quietness and less traffic you want, this is the place to stay. There is nothing between you and the beach. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. We would diffidently stay there again
