Surf City house description
This is the most beautiful house on Topsail! And it's right on the beach - not an 'ocean-view' a couple of blocks from the beach or across the street from the beach, or even a piano lot (with only a small strip that extends between the houses to the beach). Seas the day is right on the beach and the house is gorgeous.
Now wait a minute...I bet you think I'm just saying that. Well look at what some of are guests have said (see the full comments below):
'The website does not do this house justice! It is gorgeous, and the views of the beach and water are amazing from every room. ' Bonnie from Va
'Seas the Day is one of the best vacation houses I have stayed in. ... You will not be disappointed if you rent this place' Norma Jean from Ohio
'I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a wonderful beach house that has one of the best vistas in Topsail.' Mark from Northern Va
'Loved that house!!!!!! oh my, the walk to the pier was wonderful and so pretty. the house was perfect and held my whole family! it was an awesome vacation! thank you so much! wonderful!' Jessica from Ohio
And it goes on. You will truly love your stay at Seas the Day.
Located just 1 mile south of the Surf City pier, you're close to all the activity, yet just far enough away to enjoy the tranquility that lives here also. As a matter of fact, you may note some of our guests jokingly refer to the 'Buddy's walk'. Buddy's is a bar/restaurant by the pier, which is a nice 1 mile walk on the beach. Some people, including my brother, myself and our two wives like to walk down to Buddy's at lunch time, watch the surfers by the pier, order oyster shooters, and... possibly a cerveza or two (that's Spanish for beer) and maybe a tequila shooter. Well, the walk back is now quite enjoyable. We often just come back, lay out a towel and catch some rays and a snooze. The Buddy's walk - a perfect way to spend a vacation day.
Do you like to bike or run? There is a bike shoulder on the main road the entire way from the north side of Surf City to the south tip of the island. The island is like 22 miles long, so you can get a good work out.
Recently I rode my bike to the south end, and the smell of Jasmin and ocean air was unbelievable. I stopped on the far south point of the island and walked around the beach on the undeveloped point. I then rode back to Topsail Beach city hall and said hi to the ladies who worked there. (They had kindly sent me an invitation to pay real estate tax in their city even though my house was in Surf City. I graciously declined :-) but they were very pleasant.) I then rode back to Surf City and promptly bought an ice cream cone at DQ just to make sure I hadn't burnt off too many calories.
Believe me, this place is fun.
And I haven't even told you about Giligan's, just before the bridge on the mainland side and it's hilarious karaoke nights, or about Sears Landing and its award winning clam chowder made with sherry, or Indigo Marsh - the best restaurant overlooking the sound that you will ever find. Oh, and how about the fresh fish market (I mean right off the boat) behind the Crab Pot where you can get shrimp, flounder, shark or whatever they have been catching and take it back and grill it at Seas the Day.
You can play 18 holes at Coastal Carolina's only four-star golf course, North Shore Golf and Ocean Club (as per Golf Digest).
Surf shops that make me wish I was 18 again, Andy's and Island Delights that serve 50's style burgers and malts, the Surf City Wine and Cheese Shop (I go in for the weekly wine tastings and just the great smell!), II Bouchaines, and on and on. You won't want to leave.
And I haven't even talked about surf fishing, kayaking, surfing, jet skiing and more (check out the ALL CAPS paragraph below to see my web site for MORE things to do with phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
Seas the Day is BEACH FRONT. It is not a piano lot, a view lot, or across the street from the ocean. It is direct OCEANFRONT property.

My teenage son once walked up the stairs to the living room and said 'This place just makes you smile!'
I still think OUR GUESTS SAY IT BEST:
'We loved the outside shower, complete wtih room for dry clothes and towels! Very kid friendly, my 13-month-old niece could wander around and the gates kept her safe. Topsail itself is so peaceful. We went to the sound side a few times to fish, canoe, and take the baby swimming. We golfed, ran, sailed (you have very nice neighbors who invited us!), and fished from the surf (caught sharks, stingrays, and a few fish). Such a great house -- plenty of space, well decorated, and everything you need in the kitchen for eating in!' Bonnie VA
Jim Murray from GA agrees wholeheartedly:
'My sister and I are both recently retired school teachers. For over 25 years we have talked about renting a beach house on the North Carolina coast, big enough to house all of our families. ... This house was everything we had dreamed about. It was RIGHT ON THE WATER,...
'Setting on our porch, we could watch the sun rise each morning. In the evening we could drive to the end of the island and watch the sun sink into the ocean....I bought 5 kites and one day we all spent the day flying them. ... We enjoyed the secluded walks on the beach and the discovery of hundreds of sea shells. We saw dolphins swimming by several times. The only regret we had, was that we couldn't stay for another week.'
We have added a 42' FLAT SCREEN TV in the living room and NEW FLAT SCREEN TVs in the master and 2 queen bedrooms, and there is a large TV in the bunk beds room. Ill post pictures soon.

What a beautiful place! We were here with friends and could not have had a better time. This home is perfectly situated, gorgeous sunrises and magical light show at night, I saw more falling stars in this one week than I have seen in my whole life! We will be back. Seriously, it is everything the description states and more. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Owner response: Annette, Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you had such a great vacation. We would love to welcome you back anytime!
Our family stay at Seas the Day was wonderful!! It was clean, well-maintained, spacious, and bright. The beach was right there to enjoy. Great for families. Just the right distance to walk to the pier and have dinner at "Buddy's" and walk back. The tall chairs on the deck were perfect for night talks and morning coffee. The outdoor shower was great for showering before entering the house with cold and hot water. It was a life saver with all my crew. We enjoyed a nearby playground within walking distance for the little ones to enjoy. I can't wait to go back. It was all as the pictures showed and more.

A vacation with the Grandparents
A vacation with the Grandparents
As a family we have rented many houses on the beach or one off the beach. This house by far had the best proximity to the ocean, and amazing views. The house was as described, and the pictures very accurate. Our family enjoyed eating breakfast and lunch on the deck while enjoying the sound of the crashing waves and taking in the beautiful beach. We took daily walks to the pier and back, and had few private guitar concerts on the deck in the early evening. Also flew stunt kites in the early evening on the days that cooperated with the timing of low tide. we were very happy with our vacation this year and plan to return again next year...and after...

Terrific Vacation Home!
Terrific Vacation Home!
This is our family's 7th year renting from Steve (always a pleasure), but our first time at "Seas the Day". By unanimous vote, this is our "new" favorite beach house. It is spacious, clean, welcoming and very comfortable. There is plenty of furniture and room for everyone. The well-stocked and open kitchen was a joy to cook in.We usually purchase local fish from the pier at the Crab Pot location and eat at home. This home is convenient to downtown shopping and night life, and the beach of course is wonderful. We spent much time enjoying the ocean view from the deck as well as relaxing in the sand. We watched dolphins, kite boarders, surfers, found shark's teeth, built sand castles, flew kites, found pirate treasures, walked the beach and enjoyed the ocean. Our last evening we went to the Breezeway Restaurant on the sound side of the island and had a lovely dinner while enjoying the beautiful sunset. We would recommend it. We look forward all year long to our spring vacation. Already counting the days..........until next year at "Seas the Day". Sun Prairie, WI, Boston, MA and Charlotte, NC

Owner response: Thank you Mark. We always love having you and your family as guests. We hope to see you next year.
My wife and I decided to spend our anniversary at the beach and chose Seas the Day as our accommodations and we're so glad we did. The house was very clean and provided all the amenities we needed to feel "at home". The decor was well thought through with a tasteful, light and peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this property! Surf City is a great place to go if you want the beach experience without the crowds.

Getaway to Surf City via Sea's the Day
Getaway to Surf City via Sea's the Day
My girlfriend and I decided that we needed to get out of the big city and Surf City was number one on our list. Sea's the day turned to be more than we could have asked for. From perfect location, to homey feel, and pristine condition, it was everything and more! We thoroughly enjoyed the easy access to the beach, literally a stones throw to the beach, the great deck was an awesome place to sit and relax. It is just the right distance to the pier, perfect taking dog on a walk (very pet friendly beach environment). All of the amenities were in perfect condition, flat screen TV in every room, very BIG TV in family room, great for a movie with the family. Great washer and dryer combo takes away any stress of being away from your house. Owner was more than helpful with any questions that we had, very willing to provide recommendations for activities, places to eat, etc. I would highly suggest making this your place to stay while in Surf City/Topsail Beach area!

Another Great Stay
Another Great Stay
This was our third year in a row renting Seas the Day. As always, our stay was wonderful and our family had a great time. There is plenty of room for everyone in our family and our dog absolutely loved it too! The location is great. There is a park for the kids within walking distance for those days that are too windy to be on the beach. We did have some issues with the WiFi when we first arrived this year, but Steve was very responsive and we were pleased about that. Steve has always been responsive to any problem, big or small that may have come up in the past. We especially enjoyed the recent upgrades to the house, the new carpet, TVs in all the bedrooms and the new flat screen in the living room. The house is always very clean when we arrive, which is a huge plus for me! We will definitely be coming back!

Perfect Family Reunion
Perfect Family Reunion
This house was fantastic for our family reunion. We had plenty of space and loved sitting on the deck and watching the waves! The property owners were very responsive when we had a problem with the stove and sent someone out immediately to resolve the issue. Surf City and Topsail had plenty to enjoy - we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Seas the Day. The description and photos were accurate. We really enjoyed having access to the beach walkway from both levels of the home. It was a wonderful "pet friendly" home. Great location. The property was clean and the owner was very helpful. I would recomment this property. When all of my children come I need a home with more bedrooms but I would definitely stay at Seas the Day again.

Owner response: Janet, I wished I had more than 5 bedrooms to host your entire family. Sometimes people rent Seas the Day and a house across the street and use Seas the Day for the meeting house. In any case, thanks for being our guest.

Why the Owner Chose Surf City:
We absolutely love Surf City. But Seas the Day is so beautiful itself. The colors seem to bring the outdoor yellows of the sun, the sky's blue, and the ocean's greens inside. This is a totally relaxing beach house. The ocean breezes, the salt air, and the wonderful people make this a great place to be.
