We fell in love with Akumal (place of the turtles) and so will you. Away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun, you can walk 80 steps to the turquoise Caribbean to our private beach and snorkel with sea turtles in warm Half-moon Bay. Renowned Yal Ku lagoon sometimes called an outdoor aquarium is 400 yards away. PADI certified dive shops are located on both Halfmoon and Akumal Bays. We even have a shaded "cenote" pool overlooking the beach for those really hot days.
Our spacious, thoughtfully appointed 1100 square foot condo, located in the La Iguana complex, has daily maid service (including the dishes!). Each bedroom features a king sized bed and the second bedroom has an additional twin making us an ideal place for your family or to share with another couple. Soaps, linens and towels along with hair dryers are included. Bottled water is provided in our fully equipped (we love to cook) kitchen. The dining area seats six, plus three breakfast bar seats. WiFi and cable are available.
Akumal has many fine restaurants. The ambiance is warm and very casual everywhere. You can walk the beach to a few of the restaurants and curl your toes in the sand as you sip your margarita and enjoy the wonderful seafood or steak. American and continental cuisines are featured along with Mexican fare.
Akumal is centrally located for many nearby excursions. The Mayan ruins at Tulum, the only Mayan archeological site right on the Caribbean Sea, are 15 miles away. Coba another Mayan site is just west of Tulum. You can swim with the dolphins in nearby Puerto Aventuras ( a 9 hole golf course too) or a little farther up the road at Xcaret. Playacar lies just to the north of Xcaret and features a fine 18 hole golf course. Playa del Carmen offers the vibrancy of city life with its shopping along Fifth Avenue and you can take the ferry over to Cozumel from there. A fine new course, Bahia Principe, lies minutes south of Akumal near Chemuyl. There are too many others to list here.

Our family stayed for 1 week and we reallly had fun,the place is clean,comfortable ,staffs are very helpful.The owners are very helpful and easy to deal with.The condo is close to everything but we rented a car to go to different palces easily.The beach in front of the condo is great for snorkeling but few yards away the water is calm.Definetly if we are going back we still stay in this beautiful condo.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
