My wife and I stayed for 3nights and were very comfortable. Location is great, just several blocks from downtown. Our 1st time to Ashland, just a quick road trip from Sonoma to get out of town.

Cottage was quaint and clean. House was well supplied, especially handmade pottery throughout. It was surrounded by beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, which the owners give access to. The owners are Artisans and their artistic touch is well balanced and accentuates the home. Loved the pottery shop and the outside BBQ/tables/chairs. Perfect location as not far away from downtown Ashland, so we could attend the Shakespearean Festival. Look forward to returning in the future.

The description, and especially the picture, doesn't do the place justice. The owners, Elizabeth and Mark, are wonderful and did everything possible to assure that we had a great stay. The gardens are immaculate, the cottage oozes charm, with amenities you won't find anyplace else--you can pick all kinds of produce from the garden, there is a complete outdoor kitchen with grill for your use, vintage stove, etc. The owners are artists and also interested in functional design and it shows. It is not only close to everything, but a lovely walk to boot. It is a truly enchanted place. if there is availability, grab it!

We just returned today from 2 nights in Ashland at the High Street Cottage. Mark and Elizabeth have created a little paradise. Their artistic touches are everywhere. They've made just about everything, even the beautiful pottery dishes. Every nook and cranny has style. We kept discovering surprises in closets -- lovely robes, slippers, and a picnic basket packed with all the cutlery, plates, and glasses that you'd need. Each detail is thoughtful and beautiful -- door knobs, trivets, flashlight, etc. Even the reading material is high caliber; Their art books in the living room are exquisite. We also loved their glorious, soft sheets. You'll sleep like a baby in a fairytale -- and it's a very quiet neighborhood, an easy walk to the plays. Don't miss King Lear and Two Trains Running this year!!. And, don't go home without buying some of Elizabeth's gorgeous pottery at very affordable prices. I could go on and on extolling the virtues of Elizabeth and Mark -- their hospitality and the unique space they've created for travelers. Thank you for providing such a heavenly experience for your guests. We loved the pears and chocolates, too. We'll be back again and again. Melissa, Chris, Therese, and David from California

Our stay in Ashland couldn't have been nicer in this very cozy and private cottage just 10 minutes walk from the theatres. The owners Mark and Elizabeth have gone to great lengths to make every detail of the experience a pleasure. We have nothing but the highest praise for the location, amenities, convenience and hospitality of our hosts. We will, without a doubt return next year.

Our four night stay in High Street Cottage was extremely comfortable. It is a totally sweet, completely art filled space. The "light" artistic touches were everywhere -- even in kitchen and closet cupboards. The vintage kitchen brought back many memories though everything worked perfectly. Mark and Elizabeth were pleasant, cheerful and willing to accomodate any needs. While many neighbours have dogs and they do bark it is only periodically so they were not a problem. The walk downtown took less than 15 minutes and you pass by some wonderful Ashland architecture -- and often deer! Be sure to take Elizabeth's suggestion and walk or hike in Lithia Park. Also the Co-op is a great place to get food and capture the particular ambiance of Ashland.

Do you know how it feels to arrange a doll's house, when you picture it from the doll's point of view? Staying at High Street cottage was like being the doll. We opened each cabinet and peeked around each corner and felt like little dioramas had been set up for us to see. It was like being Alice in Wonderland for a few days and having the chance to peek behind each door. This is to say nothing of the comfortable beds, location within walking distance to everything and kind and engaging hosts.

High Street Cottage is the best vacation rental we've ever had anywhere. Mark and Elizabeth thought of everything in this charming, perfectly clean, tidy, well-organized, well-appointed, quiet, private cottage. They are gracious and available yet unobtrusive hosts. The backyard is lovely with seating on the lawn and by the fish pond, and the homegrown tomatoes and salad greens are delicious! A pleasant 15 minute walk to the theater plaza, easy access to Ashland's downtown and restaurants and shops. Comfortable places inside the cottage for dining, reading, working at my laptop (alas). Everything we needed in the kitchen and bath was there. We plan to make this an annual retreat.

We're longtime Ashland visitors, and thoroughly enjoyed our week here, the best place we've ever rented. Owners Elizabeth and Mark have managed a B&B, and guests profit from their experience. Everything from toiletries to plastic wrap was in store, in case we'd forgotten something. The cottage is IMMACULATE. Linens are plentiful and comfortable. Elizabeth is a potter, and her work fills the cupboards for attractive and practical everyday use. She also sells (with absolutely no pressure) pieces from a shed in the yard. Mark, an art teacher, crafted the structures on the property with delightful whimsy. Everything they promise awaits you: comfort, privacy, the koi pond, vegetable garden, outdoor kitchen, hot tub. laundry -- and more. They're generous and discreet hosts. Very pleasant and manageable walk to the Shakespeare Festival. You will want to return -- we do!
