This house is wonderful! Feels very spacious, and is quiet with a gorgeous view. The decor is lovely, and the kitchen well outfitted. The house was spotless! We had some cold weather come in, with wind, but other than that, we enjoyed kayaking, biking, and using the small pool. The owner was very responsive and accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house comes with 1 kayak, so we had 2 more and a paddle board, and a bike, delivered for the week from a nearby rental company. With the winter wind from the north, we spent a lot of time at Sombrero beach on the Atlantic side, which was hugely warmer, as well as going down to Bahia Honda. The location of this house is great, with Publix just up the street, and the beach within a 20 minute bike ride.

Loved spending time where it's warm. Enjoyed this home very much. There was plenty of room for our teenage daughter and son. Harry was always available if we needed something. We walked to supper and a movie one night. Great location.
Owner response:We are so glad that you enjoyed your holiday week. It was beautiful weather, for sure! Besh wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year. Carolyn and Harry

We had a wonderful time at this property. There were four of us and we had plenty of space to spread out. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was large and spacious. The view of the gulf is spectacular! My husband loves fishing and was pleased to have a fridge and freezer downstairs for bait and beers. We would highly recommend this vacation home to others. The owners, Carolyn and Harry did their utmost to get the Wifi up and running as we all brought computers and needed to attend to business from time to time. Thank you both for your hospitality and we look forward to returning in the future. We tried numerous restaurants and all four of us enjoyed the Sunset Grille the most. It is located on the Atlantic at the seven mile bridge, has a nice atmosphere, good food and entertainment on the weekends.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words and we would love to have you return in the future!

Of all the weeks to pick, we picked the week with a nearby tropical depression but this home made up for all the bad weather. The rooms were spacious and accommodating. We enjoyed blueberry pancakes and grilled rib-eye dinners overlooking the great view from the dining room. We spent many a nights recapping our day from the oversized porch. We fished from the dock and pulled in a 3-1/2 foot nurse shark which was pretty exciting. Everything we needed was there - plenty of towels, dishware and blankets. And just FYI, there is a hair dryer in the master bath cabinet. We got out on the boat 3 days and got skunked but if you do bag your limit, there is a great setup downstairs with a fish cleaning station, large gas grille and separate outdoor refrigerator/freezer for bait. We had the BEST sunset view (better than Sunset Grille which is supposed to have some of the best sunsets). And speaking of Sunset Grille - this is a fabulous place to have dinner (located 2.9 miles south at the Seven Mile Bridge). Also, surprisingly good was Hideaway Cafe (located upstairs at the Rainbow Bend Resort). Those are my two restaurant recommendations. The Master bed was super comfortable and perfect after a long day of fishing and sightseeing. I loved the dual showerheads in the master shower. And it was very convenient to have the washer/dryer right there. I went home with all clean clothes. This kitchen was fabulous with huge granite countertops and plenty of space for everyone to move around. I would cook in one area, the guys plotted courses with large maps on another counter and my sister-in-law was always nearby with her iPad. She had (unsecured) fast Wifi and outside of one really bad storm, we had great satellite TV. I will send pics to the owners, Harry & Carolyn Caplan. And I can't thank you enough for accommodating my family with your wonderful home. It was a another week of funfilled memories for us to add to the books!!
Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed the home despite the unusual amount of rain that was dumped on your week. We hope that you will visit us again sometime soon - and thanks for the wonderful photos!

This house is situated at the end of a dead end street. As you approach the house there is a beautiful white gate and just beyond that gate is your private sand beach yard. There is a boat ramp and a nice dock. The pool is small but clean. You will not be doing laps or cannonballs in this pool, but it is perfect for cooling off or hanging out. The inside was spotless! You can tell that the entire place was renovated in the last several years. It is a home away from home. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is up to date and very clean. There is a beautiful covered deck that runs the entire length of the house. I read in a previous review that someone commented on how comfortable the master bed and pillows were. I completely agree! I wanted to bring the bed and pillows home with me! The owners really take impeccable care of their home and pay special attention to every detail to make your stay enjoyable. My whole family and I had an excellent vacation staying in this house. We really enjoyed the card table, playing cribbage almost every night. The views of the sunsets were amazing every night. If ever in that area again, this house would be my first choice. I hope you make it yours too. You definitely will not be disappointed.
Owner response:So glad you enjoyed your week and thank you for your kind words. We try to make our yellow house comfortable for our guests. I am glad to hear that you had some great sunsets. They are really spectacular in the Keys!

We spent a week here over Thanksgiving vacation. The place is like being at home. The kids did not want to leave at the end. We look forward to our return for spring break week. The owners go out of there way to insure your vacation is perfect. Having stayed in Marathon, and Duck Key many times this place was the best by far.

What a great house centrally locate to all attractions. The views of the Gulf from this home were beautiful, we never got tired of looking out the window. We utilzed the kayak and dock for fishing, however the white Crane, will steal you bait whenver you turn your back so be careful! We had a wonderful week until the wind blew out of the North at 30 mph making outside uncomfortable, so we packed our lunch and went to Coco Beach which was protected from the wind. Also, check out Sombrero Beach if you ar looking for a place to swim, they have great facilities and it is free.

What a great home and view! We stayed from 10/16/10 to 10/23/10 and it felt like home. It was like living in paradise to wake up every morning and have a view like this and privacy like it was your own island. We also rented a boat from Captain Hooks and kept it tied at the dock behind the house. A great place to go was just a few blocks south of this location at "Keys Fisheries" for great seafood and a great time. Also found another great place at Key Colony beach, Cabana Breezes. We snorkled and kayaked right off of the dock in the aqua water. What a great Place to stay!!!

WOW!!! This is what you will say when you enter this beautiful home!! My husband, our 2 closest friends and myself entered this home and that was the first words out of our mouth!!! "WOW" The pictures dont even do it justice and they're beautiful!! This home is so worth every penny and let me tell you about the most comfortable bed Ive ever slept in. We had the Master bedroom and Ill tell you what... I wanted to bring this bed home!! (And the pillows!!) The sunset in the evening was breathtaking!! A different brilliant sky every night!! We took tons of pics!! We brought our own boat, so going out into the water was a hop, skip, and a jump, with your own private ramp boat dock!! We went to restaurants, but we grilled out, enjoyed our drinks and watched the sunsets most nights.!! Going to Key West was fun!! And it was only an hour away!! Make sure you go!! This was my first time in the keys and an anniversary and vacation I will never forget!!! We will definately be back!!! Many thanks to the owners for having such a beautiful place....for such a reasonable price!! See you next year!!

We stayed in this beautiful home in September and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Harry and Carolyn are really nice people and want to make sure you enjoy their home. It is well appointed and the boat dock is superb, views even better from there and the upstairs terrace. We hope to go back there again soon.
