Location: Private Homes, Marco Island, Florida South West, Florida, USA (bike to beach; walk to town, golf, library, parks, Y, tennis)
Accommodations: HOUSE, 4 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 3 Baths (Sleeps 8)
We have a nice, spacious home on a quiet, neighborhood street. We would like you to feel as though it is your home during your stay with all the conveniences you like. We have made it Eco-friendly in whatever way possible to minimize your exposure to toxic chemicals. The house was painted using low-VOC paint. There is no carpeting - it is all tile. The kitchen countertop is also all tile. We try to use and help local businesses as much as possible.
We provide a piano, bicycles, toys, books, games, music, and DVDs. We provide handmade soaps, chemical-free and environmentally-friendly products such as toilet paper, dish soap, and laundry soap. But we still have amenities for your comfort: heating, air-conditioning, many ceiling fans, heated pool and comfortable beds and furniture.
Please enjoy yourselves. Come again. Ask about specials for two or more week stays, off-peak travel, and repeat visits. If you desire to return next year, let us know what we can include that your family loves to have on vacation.
We like going to Marco Movies (for dinner), eating at Summer Day Market for lunch, walking to the library and Mackle Park, visiting Goodland, a small fishing village, camping and playing at Collier-Seminole Park just off the island, eating at Food and Thought in Naples, biking around the golf course near our house in the evening, eating at a beach hotel and then visiting the beach to watch the sunset and going on boat rides (Weis Guy charter captain, Jodie Weis, lives right across the street). Our friends and very nice neighbors are still on the island, so let us know if you want to get hooked up to local happenings.

Ellen and Alan: Your house is just beautiful. It worked out perfectly for what we needed. Very spacious, all-around nice. We will definitely recommend it to other people.

Alan and Ellen: Thank you so much for the rental of your house. We had a great time. The guys enjoyed the fishing trip with your neighbor, Capt. Jody (note to guests: the cap'n is available for your next trip). The catch made for a great New Year's Eve dinner. The bikes are a great addition - my niece enjoyed taking a ride every day. It was a great place to relax and soak up the sun. We really needed more than a week to do everything on the island.

Thank you for accomodating us on such short notice. Your home is perfectly situated on the island. Mackle Park became a daily ritual to walk along the paths. The Snook Inn is a terrific place for dinner. But our favorite location is the Esplanade. Your home is quite spacious and well-kept.

What a wonderful habitat you have here, free as it is of all care, complaints and contraptions. The stone is as steady as an ocean, and the wood as welcome as a warm twilight. Many the waves that have brought this old heart (with noggin and adjacent bag of bones) to your shore. The storms were rich and raucous, but in hindsight only shadows. My poor little me still does tend to jump easily. So thank you for helping me remember to forget! For is not letting go the first step to losing? Tomorrow is the end of the respite. But what is a road, really? I gladly don't know, only that in this case it's necessary if I ever wish to get home.

This was our third trip to Marco Island. As always, it was wonderfu. Just what our family needed after a long, snowy cold Wisconsin winter. Thank you so much for allowing us the use of your home (for the second time-first visit in March 2007). It's perfect for our kids and allows us to make dinner and eat our meals as a family. We love Marco Island!!

Thank you so much for a great place to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday. Your place was so perfect, and so was the weather. At one point we had four generations of Miesses together. This will be a vacation my parents will cherish forever. Hope everything was left OK, and thank you for the wine and tickets. (owner's note: from a guest who stayed one month).

Thank you for the beautiful house and accomodations. It's a shame we have to leave a week. We will probably have the occasion to come back.
