Welcome to Paradise. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, you've come to the right place. We offer an alternative to the impersonal hotel experience in a 2,000-square foot inland home on a quiet, neighborhood street near the Island Country Club. The public beaches are 1.25 miles away. There are no bright lights or noisy crowds to detract from your relaxing getaway.
Our philosophy is to encourage guests to take advantage of all the wonderful outdoor amenities on the island, from the beaches to fishing, sailing, kayaking, personal watercraft and more. The house is equipped with a heated pool, a spacious lanai with full-day sun exposure, cathedral ceilings, central heat and air, dishwasher, ceiling fans in all rooms, bar stools, patio furniture, beach chairs and toys, pool toys, tennis rackets, books, DVDs, board games, bicycles, a portable crib, piano, a pool safety gate and more. There is a television in the main sitting area and a DVD player and computer monitor in the living room - if you require a TV in every room and wireless Internet, sorry to disappoint.
Another important feature: the home is eco-friendly to minimize your exposure to toxic chemicals. The house was painted using low-VOC paint. There is no carpeting - it is all tile, from the floors to the kitchen countertop. We provide handmade soaps as well as chemical-free and environmentally-friendly products such as toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, dish and laundry soap.
We try to use and help local businesses as much as possible. The furniture includes handcrafted beds and tables from a woodworker in Missouri, our adopted home state (we lived on Marco full-time for several years).
Among our favorite activities are going to Marco Movies (which also serves dinner), eating at Summer Day Market for lunch, walking to the library and Mackle Park, visiting Goodland, a small fishing village, camping and playing at Collier-Seminole State Park just off the island, eating at Food and Thought in Naples, sunset dining at the beach hotels and of course, hitting the water(Weis Guy charter captain, Jodie Weis, lives right across the street).
Our friends and very nice neighbors remain on the island, so let us know if you want to get hooked up to local happenings.
Also, please ask about specials for two or more week stays, off-peak travel and repeat visits. And let us know what we can include to make your family's vacation an even more memorable one.

We returned from Baldwinsville, NY for our second stay at EcoMarcoFun. Driving through an ice storm, we were delighted with a month of days in the high 70s and low 80s. The pool was wonderfully warm. Our Collier County beach pass ($50/year) took us to Tigertail and south beaches. We had visits from each of our three children's families at separate times. The kids loved the Naples zoo, Coral Cay miniature golf in Naples and beach swimming. We walked around the neighborhood several times daily and frequently visited the nests of local burrowing owls - so fascinating. Everyone returned with a collection of seashells. The accomodations here are clean and comfortable. Alan and Ellen are most conscientious hosts and acted upon every suggestion (not complaint) that we offered, upon request. Having the Internet and wireless was a real treat, as was cable TV. We feel very much at home here on Marco IslandDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Bill and Denyse Lynes drove from Toronto to meet up with daughter Sarah and her family from the Chicago area. We LOVE Marco Island! It is beautiful here with so much to see and do. The house was perfect for us, and the kids swam in the pool every day, even though there was a cold front (50 degrees) for the first three days. The beaches are beautiful. We walked and rode the bikes every day. We visited Corkscrew Nature Preserve, The Rookery Nature Center, mackle park (great for kids), and Naples (great restaurants). We enjoyed the nice beds, clean house and attentive hosts Alan and Ellen. Thanks so muchDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Ellen and Alan: The house was great! We loved every minute of our stay! Everything that we needed (except of course food) was here, but we did need to go out and buy plastic cups for near the pool. The pool was GREAT! We enjoyed spending most of our day in the pool.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

First trip to Marco. Quite an experience – not sure I want to leave! Been coming to Florida for the last 12 years, lived in Gainesville (school and work) 1978-80, two children and grandchildren in St Augustine. This may be the area I eventually rest my head. Realize two months isn’t like two weeks, but you really don’t have to ever leave the island. Naples has some great shops, restaurants, etc, Goodland was a hoot, as was Everglades City, very colorful characters. South beach was my favorite _ Sunsets possibility the best ever! Kretch’s has great lunch and dinner, Breakfast Plus highly recommended. Farmers market every wed 730 am to 130 pm Capt glen’s seafood is the freshest, will haggle on prices fun fun. Weather was great, as were the pool and home. Thank you, Ellen and familyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Ellen and Alan: Our second winter visit to Marco Island, our first at 1319 Riverhead. We thoroughly enjoyed making your house our home for two months. Time seemed to fly by. Hope to do it again soon. Also hope you enjoy my shell flower additions. And don’t mind my scavenging your silk leaves for accents.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rod and I thoroughly enjoyed our six-week stay. Our kids came for a week and had a lot of fun dividing their time between the lovely pool right here and the beach. They also did a lot of biking, as did Rod and I. We brought our shih-tzu dog, who loved watching and chasing the geckos on the patio. We also spent time at Mackle Park walking the track and taking Annie to the dog park. This was our 12th time on Marco Island -this year we bought a pass to Residents Beach which worked out very well - easy parking and a clean, nice facility. We had a great time and loved this home. Two of our children and their families joined us for a week-plus each. We all enjoyed the 85-degree pool and appreciated the mess child fence. We found Marco Island nicely situated for day excursions to the Naples Zoo, the western Everglades and Billy Swamp Safari's air boat rides on the Seminole Indian reservation. Biking anywhere on the island was a treat. Tigertail was our favorite beach, with its wondeful shelling - scores of sand dollars. We loved wading across the lagoon to get to the ocean. Marco Island offers a sense of community even to tourists, and there are numerous activities-farmers market, arts and crafts shows, Friday night movies in Mackle Park, Marco Movies, guided nature walks and more. We brought our terrier Gabby and kitty Pearl, who just hung out and looked out the window in the master bath. Sunsets along the beach are beautiful. Often you will have a dolphin show. The playground at Mackle Park is outstanding. Walks around the little lake are fun. There's also a sprinkler park for the little ones. This house is very easy to settle into. The four bedrooms accomodated our family get-togethers comfortably. Many extras added a touch of warmth; decorations, DVDs, games books and piano. We hate to leave and can't wait to return next February.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.
