We just got back from a little piece of heaven in Sanibel. We had such a wonderful time and just wanted to tell everyone how much we enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was decorated so well (My daughter is an Interior Designer and she loved it). The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and dishes we needed. I can't tell you how many times we have gotten to rentals that slept 8 and had dishes for 4. We grilled outseveral times and the grilling area was very nice. We live on the other coast and I have only been to Sanibel once. It was better than I remembered. I have already recommended this place to 2 of my friends that were looking for a place to go for the week. We are planning on doing this again next summer and hope this condo is availible then.

For over 20 years now, my family, friends and I have been vacationing on Sanibel Island. Each year, bringing us new memories, and leaving us planning for next year as we hit the causeway to head home. Throughout these years we have rented at many of the Islands finest condominium complexes, hotels, and cottages. A few years back, my girlfriend found this wonderful, tropical condo complex called "Coquina Beach". Coquina has an extra special "paradise" kind of feeling to it. Though you are already on an Island so private and beautiful, this complex has you nestled in tropical plants & sounds, and of course the ocean, as your front yard! This year was our fourth year renting at Coquina Beach. We spent two blissful weeks in this unit, and it is truly unique. As the owners describe, the ocean is literally steps away! There is a boardwalk leading to the ocean, but this condo has a private path. No need to pack up for the day to head to the beach, just grab your chair, some chilled beverages and stroll a few feet down a sandy path. A few steps down a pebbled path, lead us to the private pool, with lounge chairs and palm tree shade. The inside of this condo also has a unique flair to it. No drab alabaster walls here! Colorful rooms accented with tropical furniture, bed comforters and wall hangings. Everything you might need in a kitchen, we had, (including a blender!). There is a master and guest bedroom. An open loft that sleeps two, lets the sunlight in, making the whole place shine! Two full bathrooms, made getting ready to go out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants a breeze. The lanai in this condo is my favorite! A screened in deck surrounded by lush green palms. We would start our day on the lanai with coffee, then cap off our evening on the lanai with family, friends and cocktails. We really enjoyed the privacy, and loved that we didn't have the usual "foot traffic" of people coming and going around us, yet we were just a mile or two from many shops and restaurants. A few in our group go off Island to para sale, deep sea fish, or what ever they can find for adventure! Personally, I prefer to stay on the Island, and in fact didn't leave it once this year! We have been back home for almost a week now, and as I hinted at earlier, have already reserved for next spring. Great condo, five stars in my book!

Sanibel Island in October with 90 degree weather was just beautiful. The condo was tastefully decorated, had the best equipped kitchen, was very close to the beach and pool, clean and was a perfect fit for our group. The restaurants were moderately priced, food was very good and you could find just about everything you would care to eat. A variety of shopping places gave you many choices and some were very interesting. The trip on the last night to Captiva was the best way for us to end our trip, absolutely breathtaking sunset. You will enjoy this vacation in this condo like no other.

Our family (2 adults and 5 kids ages 11 and under) really had a great time at this condo. It is beautifully decorated and very clean; it is obviously carefully maintained. The beach is a fifteen second walk away! This section of Sanibel's beach is great for little kids, as it is gradually sloped and has a couple sandbars, which creates neat tidepools at low tide. Also, there is a handy spigot with a hose right by the stairs so things don't get too sandy inside. The only drawbacks to this condo had to do with the complex, not the unit itself. First, there isn't an elevator to the unit, so you will need to negotiate one flight of stairs. Second, the complex pool was pretty warm and had mosquistos so bring bug spray. But these are minor quibbles -- All in all, the best and most restful vacation we've ever taken! Thanks for sharing your condo with us. The Leverings

Our first visit to Southwest Florida was wonderful. Sanibel is just gorgeous and your place was perfect for us. We loved being able to just go down the stairs and be steps from the beach. The loft and the 2 bedrooms were perfect for our family. We loved the beachy decorations and relaxing colors. The pool at the condo was very warm and clean. We rented bikes for the week from Billy's, we went to the refuge, the Tarpon Bay, the Conservation Center, and the Shell museum. We brought home so many wonderful shells and even a dead sea star!

What a wonderful place to stay!! We visited with our six children and never wanted for anything to do. The condo is very spacious, comfortable and finely furnished. You are only steps away from the beautiful beach. The pool grounds are well kept and very pretty. We had so much fun shelling! There is so much to do and see on Sanibel. We can't wait to return!!

We keep a Guestbook in our condo. All of the following "HOMEOWNER - ADDED COMMENTS" comments have been written in our book and can be viewed when you stay at our unit. We have picked out a few to share with you. We're just listing initials for the last names for privacy reasons. Anyone who makes their own comment can decide to list the full name or not. Enjoy the reading... going through the actual book and all the years of comments is really fun too! Dave, Teresa, and family (Anna, Davy, Joey, and Mariel) Peshtigo, WI

We stayed in this unit a few years ago and can not wait to go back again. It was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and had all the conveniences of home...It was right on the beach so our walks on the beach and, of course, shelling was very convenient. We rented bikes and rode to John Ding Darling Preserve and hit some shops and restuarants. I highly recommend this unit.

We enjoyed a great time here! We saw dolphins, lots of birds but after the storm A LOT of seaweed washed up on the beach. We enjoyed eating at the Timbers. We saw a lot of wildlife at Ding Darling and enjoyed biking all around the island. We had a good breakfast at the Lighthouse Cafe. We really liked the condo, it was very comfortable. We rented our bikes from Billy's Rentels. We enjoyed shopping at Periwinkle Place. We have been to this condo before and enjoy it just as much as we did then. We can't wait to come back to Sanibel Island, Alyssa, Robin, and Keith

We have really enjoyed our first visit to Sanibel. The whole family enjoyed shelling and we found lots of miniature treasures. Unfortenately the bigger shells were all "inhabited!" My 9 year old daughter loved having the loft and reported sunrises over the beach! October seemed to be a great time to visit. The weather was beautiful and there were NO clouds. My 2 year old enjoyed the visitors center at Darling refuge and the nature center. Both had some hands on exhibits. The lighthouse was a very nice bike ride from the condo. We all took a guided kayak tour at Tarpon Bay. The "trail" was challenging with the current but the bay was nice paddling. Thanks for sharing your condo! The H. Family Tennessee

We have enjoyed an excellent holiday here at 1H. The accommodation was perfect for us and the 'loft' provided a big 'hit' with our two girls-Charlotte(13) and Sophie(10). They loved it! The accommodation provided everything for our convenience and confort, the pool was unbelievably clear and only a couple of steps to the sand. 'Ernesto' managed to miss us and we only lost a day to bad weather! A memorable stay, our fith visit to Sanibel which has as planning our sixth...enough said! The E. Family Lonth Wales, UK

Thanks for the great vacation condo! This is probably about our 20 year coming to Sanibel. We started in the mid 80's because a friend of ours had a house on Rue belle Mer and we would spend 2 weeks in March(spring break) here. Our four children still love coming here, they are now (24)Elizabeth, (22)Jonathon, (21)Emily, and (18)David. This year they all showed up at some point unfortunately not all 4 together at anytime. We now stay in Coquina condos-our freind retired and lives in his house full time. This es a great island. There are lots of memories here for our family and we plan to keep coming back and making more. Hope to be back again next year. Debbie, Andy, Elizabeth, Jonathon, Emily, and David. Pittsbergh, PA

Thank you for once again opening your apartment to us. We are celebrating our 25 year anniversary of coming to Sanibel. Each year the group gets bigger. Our group (102 of us) had t-shirts made and a video with all the memories we have made in all the years we have been coming and how the group has expanded. We had FABULOUS weather. Of the 15 days we spent only 1 rainy day! Our kids Katarina(6) and Enrique(4) had a wonderful time. They don't want to leave. They wish they could stay forever. We'll see you next year!! The S. Thank you. We had a great time. Your place is very nice. The weather was perfect and the ocean was a lot of fun! Our two boys had the best time shelling and being on the beach. We spent this week having one adventure after the other. Our boys (8 and 9) are already talking about next year! We all saw more animals then we can count. We even went fishing and caught a SHARK! Thank you again for this beautiful home to stay in down here. We felt right at home! The S. family

We love your Sanibel Beach Home! The furniture and decorations are relaxing, comfy, and luxurious. We enjoyed hot, sunny beach days and cozy, work-free rainy days as we (Sanibel) side- stepped Hurricane Rita. We have been staying at Coquina since our honeymoon in 2002 in unit **- but we have a new favorite now! The view from the windows is breath taking and we love the open loft. Some of our favroite restaurants were closed being that it was Sept.-we usually come every May, being that we are expecting our first- a baby girl in Feb. 8, 06, so we splurged on an early vacation! We will definatly be back in 2007! Kristie and George

Dear Friends, What a perfect place! I have been coming to Sanibel for the past nine years. My mother and stepdad first introduced me to the island. We absolutely love this adorable, fresh, and clean condo. It's in a perfect location. We had a blast soaking up the sun and dancing at the Jacaranda! We hope to rent this cozy place again next year! This was our first stay at Coquina Beach in H1. We really loved the condo! Our favorite restaurant was The Lazy Flamingo because of the great food and there is a fun game to play while you waited for your food! We saw 2 dolphins, lots of racoons, and my dad saw 2 alligators. We loved the pool, swimming in the ocean, and my mom and I loved to ride our rented bikes. My favorite bedroom is the one upstairs. I also think it's cool that there are so many TVs here! Thanks!! Carolin, Maggie, and Michael. Arkansas p.s. I hope we can come to H1 again!
