This is the GREATEST ever. The Eagle's Nest was the hit for the kids. They all want one at home. THANK YOU! We woke up to two moose just out the back door in the trees. One laid down and we watched her for quite some time. We also made a slide for the kids to slide down the hill just in front of the front porch and could slide almost to the road. We all had a blast. It's always the greatest if you have a snow storm while here and we did for a while. It was really pretty. We will always remember this. Thanks for the memories!!!

This was our second stay at Mountain Lake Cabin. We have enjoyed it as much as last year. Beside the major attractions at Yellowstone, we suggest Lamar Valley and the Midway Basin Geyser. We revisited Ennis, Montana and took the scenic drive to Mesa Falls. We are sad to leave this beautiful spot!

The cabin was every bit as nice as we expected based on the reviews and pictures, perhaps even better than we expected. The cabin is beautiful inside and well equipped with anything you might need. The manager was easy to work with and very helpful. The cabin is well located for access to Yellowstone NP or Harriman State Park. I have traveled extensively, and this is the nicest cabin I have stayed in to date. If there was a negative about the cabin, it was the size of the bedrooms...a little too small for a dresser; but we managed with our clothing nonetheless. With all of the other great features, this is a minor detail.

The cabin is very nice. Awesome country. We saw moose, a wolf, tons of bison, elk, mountain goats, coyote, pronghorn, osprey, and eagles in Yellowstone Park, and a mule deer in the yard of the cabin. The weather was great. We will be back.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful log home with our family. What a grand vacation we had to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with our sons and daughter-in-law! We ventured into Yellowstone, Mesa Falls and the Grand Teton Parks. The horseback riding at Harriman State Park was the best! White water rafting on the Snake River and dinner was outstanding. This was the perfect home base for our amazing trip. Thank you!

July 30-August 6, 2011 ~ Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin! It was very clean, and made us feel at home. The kids absolutely loved the eagle's nest! Although we didn't see any wildlife outside the cabin, we saw two grizzlies, a bald eagle, and many buffalo and elk while we were in Yellowstone! We highly recommend Diamond P for horseback riding and Yellowstone Raft in Gardiner. The cabin was all and more than we expected! Thanks again for helping make our vacation so wonderful!

We have really enjoyed being smack-dab in the middle of "Gods Country." After driving through Yellowstone, we were pleasantly surprised to find we would be staying in a setting almost as beautiful. We found the rodeo just down the road - a deal for $5. Took advantage of the bikes and took a nice ride to the main road - 14 miles of beautiful scenery! I highly recommend the short hike to Mystic Falls in the Biscuit Basin at Yellowstone. Also make sure to take a dip in the Firehole River! We had a marvelous time and appreciated the fact that the rental home was exactly what you portrayed it to be if not better! P.S. The Eagle's Nest was great. It was our game fort (from the kids) ~

7/11-7/18/11~ The De Temple-Smith family from New Mexico celebrated being together in this joyous cabin. Highlights included nightly cookouts, gorgeous wildflowers (which we collected in containers throughout the house) and riding bicycles all over the mountains! Whew, we are exhausted! :-) It was so wonderful to visit Yellowstone and return to this "home away from home." Actually we felt the Island Park area was just as spectacular as any national park. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality! P.S. The Eagles' nest was a big hit with the kids!

We thoroughly enjoyed the week! Grandpa Chin caught fish in Henry's Lake and on a boat drifting the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. He had the most marvelous time and the cabin surely contributed to that experience. Grandma Chin loved the fireplace (don't see that often in Hawaii!). The Evans girls told stories and took naps in the Eagle's Nest and everyone marveled at the gorgeous cabin. We left left camping chairs for future guests. Bring them to the lake or the rodeo! Thanks again for such a great time and the wonderful memories. The Evans from Seattle and the Chins from Hawaii

June 27-July 6, 2011 What an amazing mountain cabin. We loved using the firepit and grill and enjoyed the beautiful views on the drive here from Yellowstone! The house was so well stocked and comfortable. Thanks for all the small touches! It was a great week for animal watching ... we saw moose while on 4 wheelers in Island Park and in Yellowstone had close encounters with bison and their new calves plus elk, a black bear, coyote, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, squirrels and bald eagles. What an amazing week out here in Idaho and Wyoming and we are so glad we spent it at the Mountain Lake cabin! Thanks again for providing a very well-appointed and cared for cabin for our very memorable Yellowstone adventure. We very much appreciate all the work you two put into maintaining the cabin in such excellent condition and providing for all of your guests’ needs. Thanks so much! P.S. We also loved the warm weather, we were told we must have brought it from Virginia.

Every year our 2 families come together to vacation together. This year we chose Yellowstone, and we are so very glad we did. The cabin is wonderful! Everything that you could imagine, this cabin is equipped with. It is tucked back far away from the hustle and bustle, and so very quiet. We have 2 boys in each family and the cabin provided the PERFECT yard for them to play. We saw lots of beautiful birds out front. Just down the road we saw 2 moose too! The flowers we in full bloom and oh sooo pretty. We geocache as well and were able to locate a geocache not far from the cabin in the exact spot we saw the 2 moose just a couple of days before. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to vacation then this wonderful cabin. Each day we ventured in to Yellowstone Park and by the evening, we were worn out. Coming back to the cabin was so relaxing and tranquil. Thank you for letting us experience this in your cabin! Our boys each loved it as well. Ages: 10, 12, 15, 15. The neighbors are so very nice and friendly too. Each day the boys would be outside, the neighbors came to the fence and were glad to speak with them and wave to us as we came and went. It was like a home away from home. We would reccommend this cabin to anyone!!! It was AWESOME!!

June 4-11, 2011 What a lovely, comfortable and well stocked cabin we got to enjoy! We had a great time and loved having the freezer packs, cooler and bread machine available. We also own a vacation home at the beach and I will rethink having our unit as well stocked. Being foodies, we enjoyed cooking with our young adult children and the daily bread baking rituals. We loved the fireplace with the unexpected cold temperatures. We got to hike in the rain, snow and sleet and enjoyed our family time together. What a blessing to share your comfortable home in God's great creation of Yellowstone and surrounding areas. Thank You~

Many thanks to the owners and property managers!

We stayed at the Mountain Lake Cabin from February 17-21, 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cabin. The cabin had several amenities, including cookware, miscellaneous food items, dry goods like spices and coffee, extra towels, and a washing machine/dryer. It was very comfortable and felt like home. The management staff was accommodating and easy to work with. We loved our stay in this area. We enjoyed snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and a snow-coach into Yellowstone/Old Faithful. It was very cold (with lots of snow and some ice, so be careful). We wanted the snow experience being from Texas. The scenery is beautiful. I love this area. The only negative is maybe the lack of fresh meats and variety of fresh fruits at the local grocer, so you may want to consider shopping in Idaho Falls before you arrive.
Owner response:Thank you for your wonderful comments. We love hearing what our guests have to say about our home, because we too enjoy this lovely area year round. It's true that the little markets near by are lacking in many fresh foods, but they do offer the basics (milk, eggs, bread, etc.) Please note that there are two grocery stores in West Yellowstone that have a great selection, including fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. Guests can shop there after a trip into Yellowstone Park. Also, when you're headed up from Idaho Falls on Hwy 20, there is also Dave's market in Ashton.

September 25-October 2, 2010 We really enjoyed our week in your Beautiful, well-equipped home. Everything we needed was here and we were very comfortable. It was such a nice place to "come home to" after long days in Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We got some really great photos of buffalo, elk and the color change of the trees was magnificent. Thanks for absolutely perfect weather too. Hope we can return some time soon. Breakfast at "Henry's Cafe" at the Henry's Lake station, north on Highway 20, was fun and friendly! September 18-25, 2010 Thank you Livengoods! We bid on the cabin at the fundraiser for the Children's Therapy Center (and won a week's stay). Comfortable, lovely cabin in a beautiful setting. We saw no wildlife around the cabin, but the coyotes have been noisy every night. We went to Yellowstone twice, Bozeman, Ennis, Virginia city - took long walks. Shared the cabin with longtime friends from Indiana and had overnight visits from other friends from our home town. PS: Saw a moose in the trees on our last morning!

September 4-12, 2010 Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin! Five of us traveled from Ohio and two from New Jersey. We had a wonderful time and experienced the wonder and beauty of Yellowstone and The Tetons. So much wildlife "crossed our paths" including a grizzly bear, coyote, elk, bison, pronghorn, mule deer, osprey, bald eagles, red-tailed hawk, ravens, swans, cranes, and we also saw the red fox that lives in the culvert down the road. What an amazing country we have!

August 28-September 4, 2010 We had such a great time last year at the Yellowstone Vacation Home that we just had to come back to see new territory. The Cochranes and the Kelleys gathered from Wisconsin, Washington and Tennessee. The cool weather brought out the wildlife because we saw a very wide variety - more bears than we could shake our knees at: one black bear 60 yards away on Elk Creek and a grizzly running fast at Gibbon Meadow. There's a fox that lives by the culvert about a mile east of the cabin. As with last year, the house was lovely and you'd thought of everything. We had a great time.

August 21-28, 2010 Thank you so very much for such a perfect cottage [home]. The weather was perfect and the climate within the home remained at a perfect temperature. Ceiling fans helped with that. You thought of everything when you built this home and it has more than anyone can expect for a rental. We hope to return again in a few years. For a break from the crowds of Yellowstone, we thoroughly enjoyed taking a day trip to the Centennial Valley to visit the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and dine at the Elk Lake Resort (406) 276-3282. We had a wonderful time. The accommodations at the cabin were perfect. You provided everything that was required for our entire stay. We took your advice on the markets to do our shopping (at West Yellowstone) and had a wonderful meal at Island Park Lodge. Not only was the food (fresh trout) and service first class, but the view of the lake was spectacular. The cabin location is ideal for visiting Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I will certainly recommend your rentals to any friends visiting the area in the future.

Our family including my husband, daughter, and mother/father in-law enjoyed a wonderful stay. Magdalena was so helpful and accommodating answering our questions prior to making the trip from Iowa to Idaho. The property was a wonderful retreat to cook dinner, relax around the fire pit and enjoy the peace and quiet after our many day trips to Yellowstone. The cabin is even more warm and inviting than the pictures reflect and was exceptionally maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and most everything we needed was provided. Our daughter (8) LOVED the Eagle's Nest. The entire trip was amazing. We would highly recommend this property, and we hope to be back again and again!

September 19-26, 2009 Once again we had a great time and enjoyed this wonderful cabin. The weather was absolutely awesome for the entire week - much better than in May '08. No snow this time, but we didn't see as many animals. We drove to the top of Sawtell Peak and loved the view but it was very windy. The Upper & Lower Mesa Falls were beautiful. We also saw Cave Falls and hiked up to Bechler Falls. It is an easy walk and well worth it. A pamphlet says the bugs are bad in summer, so now is the best time to go - it was just beautiful. We also saw Old Faithful and hiked to the observation point. We drove up to Bozeman and then to the Tower-Roosevelt section to walk over the suspension bridge. That was well worth it too. We walked along, then up to the lake where we had a campfire and enjoyed the stars, hearing the cows and coyotes. We also enjoyed the museum in West Yellowstone. Thanks, Magdalena for everything.

August 5-12, 2009 Our family LOVED your delightful cabin in the woods. This place is wonderful inside and out! We were very RELAXED here - most relaxing vacation in a while! Yellowstone was beautiful, but we saw almost as much wildlife here at the cabin and on the road up here. Saw a large male moose in the woods between here and Highway 20, then a large buck deer on the back lawn. He didn't even spook when we went out on the deck to take pictures. Just really enjoyed our time here - thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with our family. Rodeo at Meadow View was a unique experience. Horseback riding at Harriman State Park was a good choice too! Thanks for all of your help, Magdalena - every detail was taken care of. P.S. Our kids loved the Eagle's Nest too!

July 29-August 5, 2009 We two families had a great week. The cabin was fantastic. All the kids loved the Eagle's Nest. The gents cooked up a storm in the kitchen and even used the bread machine. The cabin could not have been better stocked; it was like taking over someone's home for the week. The surroundings of the cabin are so peaceful. We had a great walk up the road and into the aspen forest. Never saw any wildlife bigger than a moth at the cabin, but saw at least one of everything at Yellowstone and Teton. Also had a great float down the river via Mack's Inn Rentals near the cabin; at the river's edge we saw a bull moose up close and personal. By the way, we had great ATT service for our iPhones at the local lakeshore (Henry's Lake).

July 26-29, 2009 This vacation was quickly put together and we are so thankful we found the Mountain Lake Cabin online! What a cozy, comfortable place to come to each night after driving around Yellowstone. Magdalena was so helpful in letting us come for just three days - to fill in her summer's rentals and give us a great experience. We had all we needed - even the hair dryer I forgot to pack! The Tetons are also wonderful - hiking to Taggert Lake was so beautiful. We went whitewater rafting there on the Snake River and I can recommend Jackson Hole Whitewater as a great organization. Went up Signal Mountain in the Tetons - saw a mother black bear with her two cubs up a tree! They were so cute, but when they came down we were sure to be in our car! This a a super house location! Thanks again. PS - Ellie wants an Eagle's Nest at home to do homework for her senior year! All age kids love it!

July 8, 2009 We had a great time. The kids really enjoyed their vacation. We got to see many animals in the park. The kids became junior rangers. It was a beautiful time and we loved seeing the snow on top of the mountains in July. Everything was WONDERFUL! Thank you once again for allowing us to stay in this wonderful home - we couldn't ask for any better place to stay.

6/21-6/27/09 We were very happy during our stay here. The house had everything we needed - it was comfy, beautiful and relaxing. Our favorite part was drinking coffee and enjoying the view in the morning, followed by doing the same with wine in the evening after a day exploring Yellowstone. Thank you so much. The Cook Family Elk Grove, CA Magdalena, Thank you for all the help and advice in planning this trip. If not for you we would have stayed at a closer location without the wonderful amenities!

June 19-21, 2009 We were so lucky to be able to stay for 2 nights here. We wish we could stay longer (we wondered if the next guests would mind!). We loved having a fire in the evenings, hearing the animals, and simply sitting around the fireplace visiting. We've never had such a relaxing place to stay at night. We hope to bring more of the family and visit regularly. Thank you and Cnacubo!" Rick, LeAnne, Ray, Rose, Rodney & Ksenia Bismarck ND, Linton ND, Minneapolis MN & Russia.

June 8-12, 2009 Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We felt completely at home, made even more welcome by all the "little touches" like cooking and food items and the Pack & Play. After spending our first planned night sleeping in our cars caught behind the road closure at Norris in Yellowstone, your comfortable beds were a welcome site! God's blessings on you and your family. Thanks again,

June 2-9, 2009 All eight of us loved the cabin a lot. It was so beautiful and had everything we needed, so close to a beautiful national forest. It rained every day and snowed once, but we still were able to do all the sight seeing we wanted. Bruce was here quickly for any trouble. Thanks, Bruce. There are so many things to do and see in Yellowstone - a week isn't enough. But we also had a great time within a few miles of the cabin!

May 19-22nd, 2009 Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! It was very well equipped with most everything anyone could need or use in their own 'home.' I love the furnishings and the beds were very comfortable. We had a great time seeing all the wildlife in Yellowstone Park. We saw lots of buffalo, two grizzlies, elk, sand hill cranes, eagles and antelope. We even saw elk and a coyote on Red Rock Rd. But the kids enjoyed feeding the muskrats, trout, ducks and seagulls at Big Springs the best. They also enjoyed fishing at the Reservoir and caught two Rainbows. We have rented cabins similar to this one in the Black Hills and The Smokeys and I would say this was definitely the nicest! Very homey and quiet. Truly a vacation! We'll definitely recommend this property to others who might be vacationing this way. Thanks so much! Ken and Lana Hyrkas, Logan (15), Grace (14), Jack (11), Evan (9), and Claire (8). We're from Calumet, Michigan (in the upper peninsula of Michigan - Lake Superior Country!)
