Super week with driver
Thank you Margaret. We had a super week. The weather was great right up until the day before we left. We had a lovely guide and driver for two days....Marlene (Experience Provence) and saw so much and then booked a colleague of hers..... Claire for another day later in the week. Have left some of Claire's cards in the apartment...didn't have any spares of Marlene's but can recommend both. You have a lovely place Margaret which we enjoyed very much.

'We had a lovely time
'We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed your very nice apartment. We visited all the places we were planning to go to. We went to the market at Isle Sur La Sorge for the market on Sunday morning. We had a trip to Chateau Neuf de Pape, Senanque, Venasque and also Pont du Gard. We enjoyed the market at St Remy on Wednesday. We didn't realise it was so big. We would love to be able to come back to your apartment sometime should we be back in France.

Lovely & pleasant retreat in beautiful Provence.Guest comment entered by owner
Lovely & pleasant retreat in beautiful Provence.
Dear Margaret, 'You may recall that my mother and I stayed at your Provencial villa in April this year. We recently read that bad review on VRBO from someone in the US and thought it was complete rubbish. Just reiterating that Mum and I loved our time at your villa - so much so that we are now starting to plan our return visit to Provence.'...... 'We enjoyed sitting in your courtyard having tea and most afternoons local wine and cheese, plus playing cribbage and reading.' ..... 'I imagine that you were shocked by such a viscious review so hopefully this short note may reassure you that your villa is lovely and a very pleasant retreat in beautiful Provence.'... Best Wishes, Warren (Australia)

Not as good as it looks!
Not as good as it looks!
This little villa is situate right on a busy, noisy, dusty street with a large trash receptacle that is emptied daily at 5 a.m. and separated from the house by a flimsy fence. The picturesque terrace shown in photos is minuscule with no room for even one chaise to recline and relax. One bedroom overlooks that street and there is no view other than a trash bin. Luxury linens mentioned in a previous review were nowhere to be seen; my bed linens were full of holes. The bathroom shower greeted us with dead flies, needed a good scrub, and shows signs of mold. All in all - the property - although charmingly furnished- is not what it's represented to be and amenities were minimal. e.g. would you expect an electric barbecue to be a George Forman grill? A White tile floor throughout proved impossible to live with, needing constant mopping. I would never recommend this listing.

Owner response: Early morning bin collection is part of French village life. From approximately 6.30am bins are collected around the town and residents of luxury hotels on the main Boulevard are greeted by the same sounds. Bedroom 1 overlooks the small Terrace and Route de Rogadou which is a tarmacked road – It also has a view of the authentic provencal house and country lane per the picture on our site and in fact a view of the Alpilles - However if you look down you will see the Bin. The fence referred to is part of the original railings of the Chateau which are made of metal and painted in a Provencal blue. A section of these railings forms the boundary between our Terrace with the road. A Provençal hedge (Red Robin and fragrant Jasmine) is planted inside the railings, and provides additional cover and privacy. The terrace is certainly not suitable for sun-loungers and there are no sun- loungers in the house. I make it clear to people that the house is 60m square and is small. The George Foreman Grill referred to above is not a grill but is a ‘George Foreman Electric BBQ’. The rental period for the house is listed as Saturday to Saturday, aligned with my cleaning service. I deviated from my usual rules to facilitate the two ladies who rented and allow them entry on Wednesday. Therefore my cleaning service would not have had an opportunity to check the house on the Wednesday morning before their arrival, In hind sight, and perhaps in the Provençal heat this was not a good idea. As always, I checked my linens at the end of the last season. Any indication by the ladies to the concierge of a problem with linens would have ensured that replacements would have been provided immediately. No matter at all was raised by the ladies during the ten days. The downstairs area has provencal white tiles throughout and the stairs and bedrooms have solid wooden floors throughout. It is the first time in 6 years that I have received an adverse review. I go to great trouble to ensure that people are well prepared for their holiday and am honest about the facilities available.
Charming and Convenient!
Charming and Convenient!
My father and I took our last father/daughter trip and had the pleasure of staying at this townhouse. The location can't be beat (literally 5 minutes walk into the center of town). Located near a major artery- out of town-day trips are a cinch. The townhouse is within a gated area with secure parking, which is a plus. The decor is beautiful and the townhouse impeccably clean. Margaret-the owner-was helpful each step of the way and her local contact Evelyn went above and beyond. We had a truly relaxing time in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.

Excellent retreat for exploring Provence (Alpilles)
Excellent retreat for exploring Provence (Alpilles)
We stayed at Villa for a week and found it most comfortable and an excellent retreat for spending time, or to return to after a hard day sight-seeing. The Villa is very well appointed and has extremely comfortable bedding for weary bodies. The Villa is set in secured, manicured grounds eliminating privacy and security as issues and it is so handy to the town centre that it is easy to walk in to pick up provisions, explore or take the time to sit and have a coffee/drink. We had a hire car for which parking in the Villa grounds was also easy. St Remy is a great spot for exploring everywhere in western Provence. It has a fantastic market on Wednesdays just along from the Villa and it well serviced with both boutique and speciality shopping as well as larger chain grocery stores. Our dealings with our host for Villa (the owner) were very easy and most professional. Thanks for the use of your Villa in the sun, and for helping to make our stay in Provence so memorable.

Dear Margaret, We so enjoyed your most comfortable and lovely home. It was just perfect for us. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace and having a dinner at home that we bought at the market. The weather could not have been better while we were there. Did you have something to do with that? :) What a great location. We loved being able to walk into town with out having to take the car. We relaxed and rested and felt very much at home. Thank you so much for providing such a comfortable atmosphere. We have stayed in St. Remy several times before and think that it's location in Provence is ideal for day trips to Avignon, Nimes, Pont du Gard, Arles, Aix and L'Isle sur la Sorgue. St. Remy it self has so much to offer in the way of shopping and restaurants. Not to mention the Wednesday and Saturday markets! A beautiful village. I will be recommending your home in Villa Nova to friends and I know that they will enjoy their stay in your home as much as we did. Can't wait to come back again. Jean and Jim

We just adored provence..
We loved our holiday and have only just returned... We had an amazing trip through France and then a cruise from Athens to Venice. Our time at Villa Nova was so lovely. What a wonderful area, we just adored Provence. We did all the things you suggested and I loved the Van Gogh walk and Gordes. Maybe we can get there again one day.

Hi Margaret, .........we had a wonderful time in Provence. We loved Villa Nova apartment. It had everything we needed and we were very comfortable there. Evelyne was also great and very helpful. She pointed us to the beach at St Marie de la Mer in the Camargue and we had a delightful day there. The location of your apt was perfect for us. Not only did we love St Remy(especially the Wed am market) but we also took day trips to Arles and Nimes and even got as far as Pezenas in Languedoc where we used to rent years ago.
