Two blocks from the beach - love the outdoors? This island home, Ocean Oaks, is for you. One block from Tybee's huge playground, older kids can walk or bike to the park, complete with tennis courts, basketball, and picnic tables. Better yet, this lovely home sits on the Tybee bike route, which provides safe access from one end of the island to the other. WiFi keeps you in touch with the real world if you must! Ideal setting for the self-employed or tele-commuter, with a small desk in the master bedroom.
Ocean Oaks sits on a quiet street, covered by beautiful old Georgian Oaks, but only two blocks from the beach. Beach access from this house takes you to one of the quieter areas of Tybee but still walk or bike to the pier and the quaint downtown with its shops, galleries, restaurants and bars.
Little Tybee Island is accessible by canoe or kayak and is one of several barrier islands that drop down the coastline from Tybee to the south. All are uninhabited and left in their beautiful, natural state. Great for day trips or overnight camping on desolate beaches.
There are public fishing piers, as well as the main Tybee Pier, which offers live entertainment on warm summer evenings, fishing, and surfing to the south side. The south side of the island has also become popular with kite boarders.
Ocean Oak's location truly provides something for everybody. It is beautifully renovated, but still practical with a huge screened in porch, large yard, garage, paved driveway, safe route to the playground, and a quiet street - all ideal for children's play.

Come home to Ocean Oaks from an active day, and sit in the private hot tub out back, with covered roof and beautiful landscaping. There is a second rinse shower by the hot tub in case you prefer to jump in right off the beach!
The large living room includes a separate sitting area for reading, along with a large sofa for watching TV or resting. There is a separate dining room, a kitchen with bar seating - and every chef's dream with modern stainless appliances and Corian counters, lovely wood cabinets, and is fully equipped. There is also a separate laundry room with back entrance from the garage - the outdoor shower abuts to the garage - so housekeeping is easy!
Shower, enter the home through the garage, and drop your dirty clothes in the washroom on your way in! The washroom has a door to the grill porch - not a bad place to hang towels to dry! The downstairs bath includes a tub - perfect for guests or others who may prefer to sleep out on the screened-in porch!
Upstairs offers three large bedrooms, one with a king bed, desk, large bath with oversized shower, walk in closet, second TV, and two additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed and closet. The second bedroom has two twins and a closet - plenty of closet and shelf space to make yourself at home during your stay. These two bedrooms also share a full bath. Two of the three baths have tubs.
