Our spacious resort style vacation rental is located in a gated community in the Monarch Hills/Ritz Pointe area of Dana Point, California. We are centrally located along the Coast of South Orange County 5 miles south of Laguna Beach.
This top floor 1200 square foot condo, has an open floor plan, and been completely remodeled in a Mediterranean style. The stunning travertine fireplace is the central focus of the living room. Our home will comfortably sleep up to 6 guests.
Each of the spacious bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and large walk-in closets. The kitchen features granite counters complimented with travertine and slate. The new high quality stainless appliances make cooking and clean-up both enjoyable and fun. We provide the extra touches that create a home. We have a formal dining room with a large antique oak table with matching chairs. We have decorated our home with a combination of Mission furniture and antiques.
Our Monarch Hills/Ritz Point community boarders the Monarch Golf Links and St Regis Hotel. This is a public course on the bluff overlooking the ocean at Salt Creek. The Ritz Carlton is right down the street. Community ocean-view hot tub, with trails to beach.

The distance between our vacation home and the Oaks in San Juan Capistrano is 7 miles and takes approximately 10-15 minutes, with no freeway driving. There are few hotel options available in San Juan Capistrano, making our location one of the closer accommodations. Our community boarders the Monarch Golf Links and St Regis Hotel. Drycleaning, leather repair, Starbucks and Pete's coffee are just up the hill, on the way to the showgrounds.

Our guest book provides you with information on local activities and shopping. There are a number of excellent restaurants close by, with both dining in and delivery service available. Trader Joe's is right up the street. There are several markets and drugs stores, a movie theater, video rentals, Starbucks and Pete's Coffee within 5 minutes.
Our intention is to provide all of our guests with an accommodation that is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The Monarch Hills/Ritz Point gated community is kept in impeccable condition. Our kitchen is well appointed, making meal preparation both fun and easy during your stay. We want your vacation to be enjoyable and memorable. Our vacation home is a place to relax after a day of entertaining activities.

Owner Description
I grew up in Laguna Beach and as a child had my horse at a barn right by where our vacation condo sits. All of the land surrounding the condo was leased by Basque people living in covered wagons. They raised sheep on the hillside that the condo now sits. We rode our horses all over those hills and down to Salt Creek Beach along what is now the jogging/walking path. We would ride our horses out past the breakers and body surf on their backs. Regretfully I cannot offer my guests that experience but I can offer you the vision.
Why the Owner Chose Monarch Beach
I purchased this condo because of the location and because the complex is kept in wonderful condition. When I was moving in I had forgotten the new DVD player on top of my car as I was unloading. The next day I went to look for it and it was still sitting exactly where I had left it. This complex is not just clean, it is very safe.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
My husband and I love to walk down to the beach along the old horse path of my childhood. We make the loop and stop by for breakfast at Mezzaluna's or just coffee at Starbucks.

April 2009 We left home a week ago for the 3-hour trip to the airport in Denver. Due to a late season snowstorm that dumped 3’ of snow along I-17 it took us 9 ½ hours! We were so relieved to make it to sunny Dana Point and see the sand of the beaches rather than the sand on the icy roads of Colorado. We had a wonderful vacation and truly loved coming back “home” to Casa al Mare every night. What a beautiful community!
