This panoramic view home sits high on a hill in the beautiful prestigious Portlock area. Diamond Head and sunset views are in front with the Hanauma Bay Reserve behind. Located nearby are the most gorgeous beaches, Hanuama Bay, Sandy's and Makapu'u. Close in proximity are Sea Life Park, Blowhole Lookout, two golf courses and the Makapu'u Lighthouse Hiking trail. The home is 15 minutes from Waikiki Beach, Kahala and Diamond Head and are three residential blocks' walk to the bay and white sand Portlock beach. Evening entertainment is plentiful, movie theaters, fine dining restaurants (Roy's, Bluewater Grill).

The renovation of this three bedroom, two and-a-half-bath home was recently completed and includes two new spa-style bathrooms. All of the furniture and linens are new. The owner who is an interior designer and travel photographer, has planned the decor of the home. The style is 'chic and contemporary' with dashes of color and textures. A 'Fun' place to stay. Think of zebra carpet and retro modern furnishings with a twist of island style.

  • I stayed at Sandy's house with two families for four nights. The interior and furniture Sandy selected are very nice. That's why all of us preferred dining at the house surrounded with great ocean view and the interior, rather than to going out. Everything was kept very clean. We understood she pays much attention to maintaining the house perfect for all guests. It was very pleasant vacation on Oahu. The location of the house is also attractive, having a major marketplace nearby in walkable distance. We rented cars and it was easy accessing Waikiki/Ala Moana areas - only 20/30 minutes' drive. We enjoyed both nature on northshore and city on southshore. We are sure the great memories of the vacation at Sandy's house will bring us to the same place again. Thank you, Sandy.

  • My wife and I, our daughter and her friend, enjoyed 15 fabulous, breathtaking, relaxing days at your Island Girl(Sandy)Retreat. The Trade wind breezes come right throught the house, and are so relaxing, and refreshing after a long day of sightseeing, and walking on the beach. The trade winds also allowed you to sleep like a rock at night. Views of the sunsets, sunrises, blue ocean waters and the green mountains with cloud covered tops from the balconies and Lanais are incredibaly breathtaking, to say the least. Sandy's house is located in a quiet residential neihberhood, away from the busy crowds,minutes from the house is a shopping center,drug store,wine and dine, take out, and a movie theatre. We enjoyed driving our rental car up the driveway each night knowing that other tourists are paying 25.00 per day to park their cars at hotel parking lots. Thanks Sandy for welcoming us to your humble abode.Favorites, Hanauma Bay snorkeling,Ala-moana beach Park,Exteme parasailing,Manoa Falls/Diamond Head/Koko Crater hiking trails,Paradise cove Lua,take out food-Diamond Head Market and Grill,awesome foods and desserts(try the blueberry scones).Island Hopped to Muai and enjoyed the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours, Phiilo Ranch Zip Line, awesome (5 Line) zip line and the Maui Ocean center.Also read the comments posted by Tom 9/7/07 they are 100% word for word.

  • We just returned from spending a week in Oahu for spring break with our teenage kids. We debated whether to rent a house closer to Waikiki or one that was further away with less traffic & better views. Well we are so happy that we selected Sandy's house. It is a great get-away from the crowds, much more peaceful, and with awesome views of the ocean and Diamond Head. The house is immaculate because it is not just a rental, it is there home. You will find everything to be topnotch. Sandy is wonderful to deal with and very accomodating. We would definitely rent from her again if we have a chance to return to Oahu.

  • My Husband and Myself along with my Father-in-law & Sister-in-law stayed in this beautiful home for 10 days in January. We all enjoyed spending time on both the upper & lower lanais admiring the views and gorgeous sunsets. The interior is just as beautiful and is very tastefully furnished & decorated in a fun, comfortable, yet sophisticated island style. The bathrooms are truly spa style! The location was perfect with everywhere we wanted to go being just a short drive away. Staying in the home was very relaxing and contained everything we needed while away on vacation.   • Everything written previously and positively about this property is completely and unabashedly true. Sandy's home is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The decor reflects excellent taste and coupled with the tireless views, beckons warmth and relaxation. In addition to the lovely decor and wonderful amenities, this property is truly a haven from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. It is incredibly well-situated -- only 5-minutes away by car from Sandy Beach which is an ideal spot for sunrises and sunsets alike. It's a wonderful place to genuinely "vacate" the day-to-day of mainland life and we sincerely hope to return.

  • My husband and I just returned from our 2 week trip to Honolulu and we stayed at the featured property. The home is beautifully furnished, has brand new appliances and has fantastic spa bathrooms. It has everything that you need and want for a fabulous vacation. Each room has mountain and ocean views. You feel like you are staying at the Four Seasons without the hustle and bustle. The home is centrally located between Waikiki and Kailua Beach which happens to be the most romantic beach in the world. Just around the corner is an excellent food store called “Foodland” (featuring beers & wines from around the world), a Costco (try the Hawaiian Poke) and in short driving distance you will find many great restaurants. The views from the Lanai are so fantastic and romantic that it was hard for us to leave the home. Hanauma Bay is located 2 minutes from the home – it is wonderful for snorkeling and exploring. My husband and I will be back to Hawaii soon and we will rent Hale Kani again. We loved it!

A peaceful place to come back to after a full days of work. The breeze that came through the house was refreshing all day.   • Today is the last day of my 8 day stay at this delightful home. Having traveled to 80 + countries around the world staying at primarily 4 and 5 star properties, I have not seen a more magnificent view anywhere. The 180 degree provides incomparable views of the early morning sunrise, the bright colors of the blue ocean and green mountains at midday to the incredible colors at sunset followed by sparking city lights at night. The home is tastefully decorated and comfortable for relaxation throughout the day and night. The beds are comfortable and the baths as nice as is found in top resorts. The house is very well furnished with dishes, glasses and appliances found in a well-stocked kitchen plus a brand new washer and dryer in an interior laundry. Easy access to neighborhood shopping and local beaches and just a 20 minute drive to Waikiki Beach makes this a perfect getaway home that offers the comfort and quiet of a peronal home with the excitement of Honolulu. The owner has provied an excellent guidebook to all local activities, restaurants and more that make local excursions easy and well informed.   • Frequent visitors to the islands, we've found a better option than Waikiki's luxury hotels -- this spacious elegant rental house newly remodeled and tastefully decorated. The breath-taking balcony view overlooks Diamond Head, Moanalua Bay, Hawaii Kai and Koko Head Marina. We enjoyed walking and cycling in the quiet neighborhood and early-morning snorkeling in nearby Hanauma Bay. Full grocery store, multi-screen movie theater and excellent dining choices were just a half-mile walk away. As a bonus, we found the owner to be concerned and receptive. We're already planning our next trip to Hawaii. Quess where we hope to stay. Charles, Dallas, Texas
