  Just got back from a wonderful week at the villa. We stayed with 3 other couples and had the whole villa to ourselves. Tony was a great host and made us some unforgettable vegetarian and lobster pizzas one night. Gracie was a wonderfully funny bartender. Our group really put their blender to the test with Hummingbirds,Pina Coladas and Dirty Bananas. Jonie was a gracious,pleasant and thorough housekeeper. This is a uniquely beautiful spot and we hope to come back soon. Thanks again y'all for a great time.

  My family (6 adults) spent the week between Christmas and New Year's at the Gatehouse Villa this year and we had a wonderful stay. The house is charming, and the location was perfect. We spent the majority of our time enjoying the beach or laying out in the hammock or lawn chairs in the private courtyard. I echo the compliments others have given the staff. Joanie, the housekeeper, was a sweetheart and did such a wonderful job of keeping things clean, in spite of all the sand we tracked into the house each day. Lewis, the driver, was wonderful also (he picked us up at the Montego Bay airport at 11:30pm the night we arrived, due to air travel delays - you can't beat that.) Tony, the bar owner and caretaker, truly made us feel welcome, and cooked us the most fabulous meal of jerk chicken and pasta on our final night. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend the Gatehouse Villa for anyone considering a trip to Negril.

  We had an absolutely fabulous time. I wouldn't have changed anything. Everyone was so nice and helpful (i.e. Tony, Joan, Marie, Niah, Lewis, Ali. We really enjoyed our stay. We mostly just hung out on the beach and at Tony's hut. We did go to YS Falls with Lewis and we went parasailing. We also went out on the red stripe snorkel cruise. That was the least fun thing we did. We brought snorkeling stuff and did that almost every day. We went and saw the live music that was playing at each of the venues almost every night. That was cool. Tony made us dinner 2 nights (the lobster pizza was to die for...best pizza ever) and Niah made us dinner one night. We walked to the HiLo store a couple of times to get some food/snacks for the kitchen. We all signed a shirt for Tony to hang in his hut. Check it out when you go. We met a lot of people and hung out with people from all over the world. It rained a couple of times (June). That was a nice change to the super hotness (not like California is right now though...107F today). The Gatehouse is wonderful. It is everything you could ask for. Thanks very much for everything. We had a great time!

  Review copied from Tripadvisor: My friends and I just spent our 3rd New Years in Negril and, as usual, loved it!!! We found the Gatehouse villa to be comfortable and clean as always. Both Tony(the caretaker) and Joan(the housecleaner) were extremely nice and accomadating. We think Tony's Hut is the best bar on the beach with its hammocks and dominoes/connect four we never wanted to leave! We also had the beach in front of the property all to ourselves(8 of us) unlike most of the other hotels which were crowded w/ guests due to the limited space in front of their hotel. There are no TV's in the rooms which we never even missed-who spends time in the room when you are staying ON the beach in Negril?? We are already planning for our next trip and wouldn't stay anywhere else!

  review posted on Tripadvisor: we just returned from our third stay at gatehouse, its located in the middle of everything. The rooms were clean (Joanie is the best) its very cozy and private. Tony's hut is one of the best bars on the beach. tony is also a fabulous cook, his jerk chicken is some of the best we had. The yard is always kept up and is just so beautiful. the beach located in front of the property is never crowded, If we ever needed anything they did their very best to accommodate us... I recommend it to all my friends

The villa is nice and the beach is just absolutely gorgeous. Tonys bar is the best bar on the seven mile beach...........We hardly left the villa the whole time we were there............I highly recommend gatehouse villa and we can't wait to go back!!!!

  Seven of us stayed at this wonderful Villa in April and had an amazing time. The rooms were clean and Joannie did a great job keeping the Villa cleaned and even did our laundry. Tony became a great personal friend and did a fabulous job of taking care of us and fixed us an amazing Jerk Chicken meal. We loved the private Villa and had a great time playing Dominos at Tony's bar every night. The beach was beautiful and the sunset's were amazing. I would recommend this great Villa to anyone.

  If you are looking for the Four Seasons, stop reading. However, if you are looking for a fun, relaxed experience similar to owning your own private beachfront villa - keep reading because this place is it!What a treat - located right on the beach, within walking distance to everything. equipped with house keeper & bartender. Both were lovely and helpful. There are four bedrooms - each with full baths, a well-appointed kitchen and a lovely veranda for cards or early morning coffee.Our trip included eight people (4 adults, 2 teenage boys & 2 children 8 - 10 years old) there was plenty of room and fun for everyone. In the evening - watch the sun set from Tony’s hut while sipping a dirty banana. In short - this place is the best kept, reasonably priced, secret in Negril. We loved it-PK

  My husband, friends & I spent a week at Gate House in Feb.'08 & loved it! It is so quiet & relaxing! Joanie cleaned our rooms, linens & dishes daily with a big smile on her face! Orlando kept the grounds beautiful and had our beach chairs waiting. Tonys' pizza was the best ever! Everyone was so pleasant! We didn't have air condition in our room (which we knew up front) but didn't need it during our stay-it was actually nice & cool while sleeping. Out of our 9 visits to Negril I have to say we enjoyed staying here the most of anywhere we have stayed in Negril & will be staying at Gate House in '09!

  We've been staying at the Gatehouse for years - it is consistently wonderful. It is like having your own private place in Negril - they treat you like family. Plus, perfect location on the beach.
