Come stay in the heart of the Outer Banks. SHORT walk to ocean with lifeguarded beach access. Another beach access on nearby Hayman Street offers OCEANSIDE parking. Or walk to sound for calmer waters suitable for kayaking. (It's about a 5 minute walk to ocean or sound- it's very centrally located!) Great pedestrian crosswalk to get to the beach access.

Fully equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, surfboard, 2-man kayak, floats, kids' life jackets, putting green, beach cruiser bicycles, horseshoes, beach cart, and park grill.

Close to shopping, great OBX restaurants (many within walking distance), WRIGHT BROTHERS, putt putt golf, JOCKEY'S RIDGE, huge movie theater, OBX Daredevils baseball games, AVALON FISHING PIER with ARCADE, and all the local hot spots for live bands.

Located on quiet cul-de-sac in an awesome neighborhood. Sunrise AND sunset views from the sun deck and covered porch. Hayman Park nearby has picnic area, swings/slides, and grassy area for ball.

  • We had a wonderful time this past week of July 19th. thru the 26th. at the Sun Dreams cottage in Kill Devil Hills! We found the cottage to be clean and very comfortable, and very centrally located. For someone who had never been to the Outer Banks before we were surprised that it is so built up with malls, schools, etc. We had a very different idea of what the Outer Banks would be. We did find what we had imagined by travelling up the coast toward Corolla, and down to Ocracoke, but as it turned out my kids would have been bored to tears if we had been in a desolate area for the whole week so it turned out to be the perfect location! :)We throughly enjoyed all that Sun Dreams offered: the kayak, the lovely porch, the cart to take the cooler and beach chairs to the beach with, and each day we drove just a few miles and tried different stretches of beaches. We will tell all our friends about this lovely cottage and think anyone who rents it will have a great time in the OBX, just like we did!
