Casa de los Pasajeros (house of the wayfarers) offers a true VRBO in that it is hosted and operated by 25 year resident of Taos rather than operated by Property Management Companies, Real Estate Agents, or other commercial interests on behalf of absentee owners! Further, you will find a refreshing authenticity in these properties rather than the typical condo and many properties newly built to imitate this authenticity. Your stay at Casa de los Pasajeros is a step into old-world ambience, romanticism, and a way of life far different than condo complexes, most vacation homes, Bed and Breakfasts, and certainly hotels/motels. From this oasis, you are only a 10 MINUTE walk to the Taos Plaza and steps away from El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa. The grounds are spacious, well appointed with seven tall, mature apple trees, flowering gardens on a quarater acre of land surrounded by high latilla fences. There is also a nice separation between the main house and guest house affording privacy.

Interiors of each are exquisitely furnished with antiques, fine art (originals), select libraries related to the arts and literature of the Southwest, fine cabinetry, custom tile work, oak floors in the main house, large windows, portals, lovely outdoor sitting areas, and an old-style outdoor adobe oven (horno) used by native populations for baking breads. Both have wireless internet; cable TV, sound systems, the finest in appliances.

The Main House: Two bedrooms; Two full baths. Thick-walled adobe with large windows falling close to the oak floors; Italian tile in master bath; Mexican tiled kitchen and bath floors, counters; Custom brass and wood cabinets; Built-in bookshelves, track lights,
lovely kiva fireplace; combined large living/dining room. This home is 1200 square feet: spacious, roomy, and light! Washer and Dryer.

The Guest House: One bedroom (large) one full bath. Kitchenette, sleeper sofa in living room in front of the kiva fireplace. Large portal, skylight in bedroom, finely appointed.

Either house may be rented separately. If you need both the main house and the guesthouse, a package rate is negotiated.

A perfect setting for artists, writers, historians, life-long learners, and those who simply want a quiet elegance for dreamy get-a-ways.

Be certain to ask about the option to participate in the extremely rare "Taos Inner Passages" offering off-the-beaten-path enriching and world class expeditions. In "Taos Inner Passages"
guests have an opportunity to personally meet they who are written about in the books and descendants of historically significant families. If you cannot make the summer Santa Fe Indian Market and Spainish Market, you also have an opportunity to be taken to some of these artists who are annually invited to these markets.

  • Wood Fireplace (2) : Beautiful Kiva fireplaces. Fireside dining in the main house, and living room kiva in the guest house. There is also a chiminea (Mexican clay fire pot) outside for evening dining and ambiance.

  • Double Bed (2) : One double bed in the main house master bedroom. One double bed in the guest house. There is also a double sofa bed in the guest house living room.
  • Twin/Single Bed (2) : In the large living room of the main house, there are two single sleepers. One the very plush sofa, and the other a unique expensive wide chair that folds out into a single. Extremely comfortable.
