Wonderful place

We had a wonderful time in St. Helena. We stayed in this darling house for a week, prior to and immediately after our son's wedding, and found both the house and its location ideal. We walked to the supermarket and to downtown St. Helena, to church and to the Stevenson library. We entertained the bride's family at a backyard barbecue, and loved the ambience and quiet of the big back yard. After long days in the valley, we enjoyed the hot tub in back. And my dad and some of our children were able to stay with us over the wedding weekend. We would hope to stay at the house again whenever we're in the Napa valley. And now that we have family there (the bride's parents), we hope that will happen!

We stayed again over Spring Break this year. Everything was just perfect. The house was clean, everything worked, and you can't beat the location! Thanks again. We hope to be repeat customers. :-)

Perfect Getaway!

I selfishly don't even want to post a review because I don't want anyone else discovering this perfect little hideaway in the heart of wine country. But I have to give credit where it is due -- my husband and I live in San Francisco so we travel up to this perfect part of the world at least once a month. Finding an affordable home to rent that is walking distance to St. Helena's world class restaurants, wineries and shops is tough. We were thrilled to find this on VRBO. It's got everything we need. A separate bedroom for our young son, a hot tub for the cool nights, an outdoor fireplace for romantic ambiance, a comfy big bed for us, a kitchen we can prepare small meals in and a charming interior that is clean, warm and comfy. This isn't the height of luxury so if you're looking for something super Fab move on, but if you want a nice home to come back to after a day of wine country discoveries, this is your spot (unless we've already booked it!).

Absolutely perfect!!

We had very high hopes for this cabin, and it exceeded every one of our expectations. The location was ideal, walking distance from a grocery store, restaurants, Model Bakery... everything we could want. The cabin itself was adorable. The rooms were all clean, inviting and comfortable, the kitchen had everything you might need or want. The bathroom was spotless, with plenty of linens, and the back yard was a huge hit with our toddler. Every time we get a chance we will be back. It's lovely, and an incredible value for the money. I would recommend it to anyone!

Owner response:How very kind of you. We can't wait to have you visit us again. Best regards.

Wonderful Stay in St. Helena

This is a charming cottage and the location is key for optimum fun. My husband and I stayed with one other couple for a full week and we were sad to leave. It felt like home. Enjoyed several fire-side dinners in the backyard by candlelight. Easy walk to Tra Vigne, Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen, and The Martini House for dinner. So convenient to get provisions at Safeway market, but found even better goodies at Sunshine Market 3-4 blocks away. The cottage is simple, clean, and very comfortable. The VBRO listing is accurate. We especially enjoyed sitting on front porch in the mornings with our coffee. The only drawbacks: Somewhat tricky for four people to share one bathroom. Also, we could not get the hot tub to work consistently. Otherwise, this cottage is ideal and the owner is very kind and accommodating. We hope to rent it again in the future.

Perfect place for a relaxing get away

Despite only living an hour and a half away, it felt like we were worlds away while staying in this cute, cute cottage. We arrived on a Friday, parked the car in the driveway and set off to enjoy wine country. The cottage is very quaint and very clean. The house has a fantastic backyard with a fire place. We spent two evenings out there, enjoying the weather and the space. The cottage is one block off of Main Street, where it was hopping. Fantastic restaurants are nearby, and if you fancy cooking your own meal, Safeway is a three minute walk away. To visit wineries, we went to St. Helena Cyclery (a block away) and rented bikes. We rode south along the highway and had a fantastic time. It was such a gift to be able to be so close to home, yet so far away. The owner is amazing! She answered all of my questions, via e-mail, promptly. We will come back.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at this very special property. The location is superb, sleeping was quiet, the owner professional, the house while small offers much more in the way of quaintness and amenities than any of the bed and breakfast retreats at which we have previously stayed. I would without reservation recommend this rental to future inquiries.

Your house was perfect for our little getaway. A block or so off of Main St., very walkable area and close to everything - even Cindy's (Pawlcyn) Backstreet Kitchen,is a short stroll away. Slept like logs. Our 3 little 4-legged "kids" had fun, too. Loved the era of your house and that you have kept lots of the original hardware, even down to that fabulous little front door handle. The house feels like home with its well equipped kitchen and nice bathroom. The weather was a little misty (which we loved) so we didn't get to fully enjoy your beautiful backyard, the oak trees in back and front are spectacular. One last note, the stone building next door really adds to the ambiance of the yard--take a sip of wine, close your eyes, you could be in Provence!!

As soon as we arrived, my friends and I knew this cottage would be the perfect place for our girls' weekend in the Napa Valley. The home is lovely, the back yard is a great place to spend time, and the location can't be beat. We'll definitely make reservations for future visits to wine country. Highly recommended!

My husband and I rented this cottage for our anniversary and could not have been more pleased with the house. For people who enjoy outdoor living, this is the perfect home. The backyard is huge and has a wonderful fireplace and hot tub. Our golden retriever was in heaven as well. The proximity to Main Street was also a great perk. We will definitely stay here again!

This house is very cute, perfect for two couples to rent. The house has modern conveniences, such as AC, Small Wine Refrigerator, DVD player, Washer & Dryer. The backyard is very inviting and easily supported a wine & cheese party for 7 people. You cannot say enough about the location. Simply park your car in the driveway and then you can walk everywhere in St. Helena within a 3-4 block walk from the house. Even though the house is close to Main Street (Hwy 29), it is still very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay at the house and will rent this cottage again for our next trip to Napa.

This home was perfect for my husband and I during our recent trip to Napa Valley. Here's a list documenting all the reasons why: 1. It's located in the heart of St. Helena, literally one block off the main stretch of road. If you like being in the center of everything, this house is for you. And if you love St. Helena as much as my husband and I do, it's even better. 2. While it's located in the center of everything, it's still both reasonably quiet and private. That's hard to accomplish, but somehow, this house pulls it off. 3. It's one block away from Safeway, so if you want to grab groceries so you won't spend too much $$$ eating out, you're in luck. 4. It has a nice, big backyard with a small hot tub for two (just make sure the chemicals have been checked recently to avoid any skin irritations). 5. The house is broken up perfectly for two separate couples, or parents and two children. One bedroom is near the front of the house, and one bedroom is in the back. While it was just my husband and I during our stay, we both commented on the fact that it would've been the perfect place to rent with another couple (even if it does only have one bathroom). There are actually several more reasons why you should stay at this house, but these are what stood out the most to us. If you're looking for a great, reasonable house to stay at during your visit to the valley that is also super convenient and located within walking distance to many great shops, restaurants and more, this is it!
