About this property

High up on Mtn - View & Hot Tub for an 'Altitude-Adjustment'

This cozy cabin is nestled high off Ivy Log Mountain, just 2 miles from downtown Blairsville in Union County, GA STR License # 004284. The privacy makes it an ideal romantic getaway or honeymoon retreat. If you need a place to chill so you can get an 'Altitude Adjustment,' this cabin is for you. It truly has the look and feel of a tree house. The cabin is on the ridge of the mountain and there are 25 steps down to the front door. The interior walls are all-natural tongue-and-groove pine, except for the master bedroom. There is a covered back porch with a swing and rocking chairs that face the full long range mountain view when the leaves are down and partial view when everything is blooming. A very large open deck comes off from the porch where the hot tub is located. On cold nights, you can snuggle up to the indoor stone fireplace. Or, if you are up for roasting marshmallows around a campfire, there is another area below the deck including a firepit, picnic table, and bench.

There is plenty to do besides 'chilling' at the cabin. Lake Nottely is one mile down the road and Lake Chatuge is 15 minutes north in Hiawassee. Take a very scenic hour drive over the mountains to Helen. Vogel State Park is just 15 minutes south, and offers a variety of activities from paddle boats and miniature golf to hiking trails and waterfalls. Antiquing, shopping, and golfing at Butternut Golf Course is just down the mountain from the cabin. Our local Meeks Park offers many trails and access to the Nottely river for fishing and kayaking. Within 2 hours, you can be in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge white-water rafting.

The 'Georgia Mountain Fair' happens in August.
The 'Sorghum Festival' happens in October, which is PEAK season in the mountains!

Spring Break Heaven!
This cabin was just what we needed for a quick spring break reset. The accommodations were just as advertised. The cabin was cozy, the views were beautiful, and the hot tub and fire pit were wonderful. We loved that the cabin felt very remote and secluded, but it was actually only a few minutes from town. It felt like you got the best of both worlds - private and cozy mixed with a precious and vibrant downtown. We have to come back again next year simply to continue our WII bowling competition! Thank you for such a wonderful vacation opportunity!

Perfect stay in the woods
The cabin is exactly as advertised. Beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. Hot tub and deck outside are awesome bonuses. Kitchen stocked with everything you could need. Great little loft area with 2 extra beds for extra sleeping space. Private drive in and out is not for the faint of heart (steep grade) but totally navigable (might just be daunting the first time). Great location as it is super private but only ~7 minute drive into town.

Altitude Adjustment
This was our 4th year staying here and every year it is exactly what we needed. It's clean and tidy with all the amenities we need. Communication with the owners was easy and the best thing I can say about our trip is we did not have to contact her about anything. Thanks again Lisa.

Fell in love with the N. Ga mountains when I was teenager. I love to hike, mountain bike, go sight-seeing, and just be in nature!

Why they chose this property

This cabin was a perfect place to study, quiet and remote yet close to downtown. It has a treehouse feel and 20+ yrs later it is still a quiet and peaceful place to escape from the city.

What makes this property unique

The neighborhood is mostly undeveloped and bumps up against the National Forest.
