We had 3 generations there for the week, it was great. Our two year old grandson loved the lawn out back, it was an easy place for us to stay with him and watch him. We BBQ'ed most nights, the back porch BBQ was great. Scuba diving right at the beach club, although you should take the drive south of the airport for the Manta night dive, too. Yoga and Spa treatments, Golf, the beach club everything was first class. The bay at the beach club and the hotel are very calm and it made you feel safe with a young one along. For the more adventurous snorklers and scuba divers the cove is full of coral, fish, turtles. We did a shore dive in 25 feet of water there and it was a good refresher dive with lots of things to see. A wonderful trip, both the townhouse and Muana Lani were wonderful destinations..

We rented this condo for a week in August. The amenities are as advertised and the location is great. However, and this is a very big however, they will not let you set the air conditioning to the temperature you wish. The AC unit is set at a very high temperature and locked so you cannot lower it. This was not disclosed until AFTER we paid for our rental IN FULL and after we paid a large electricity surcharge -- for a week's rental.. Arguably, this seems like an example of bait and switch to us. After much perseverance with emails and phone calls over 2 1/2 days, the owners finally relented and the handyman climbed into the attic and removed the lock from the system. After that, the rest of our week was comfortable and fun.

This is our second visit to the Palm Villas and our first to this great home. It was lovely! The polo wad great to have after a day Of sun and volcanoes. Mauna Lani is about 2.5 hours from volcano national park, 1.5 from HIlo and 35-45 from Kona. The beaches on this side are simply the best. Hapuna is awesome and it's about 10 mins away. The mauna Lani resort beach has great amenities and the smirk ing is pretty good if you have kids that are 8 and 10 and aren't ready to scuba. The owners were helpful and addressed the air conditionig concern as best the could. For me, a hot blooded Miami girl, the home was too hot. Ir would hover at about 78 or 80 during the day. At night it would go down to about 76. Too hot for me especially downstairs. BUT, they did try to fix the problem and I just felt bad continuing to harass about the heat so I didn't call again. That didn't take away fromhow awesome the home is and how well appointed the kitchen was. I loved that they had beach chairs, fins and goggles, noodles, beach towels, blow dryer, shampoo, body cream, and the washer and dryer made light packing possible. Would I stay here again??!??? 100% for sure.

We just returned from eight days in Trude and Scott's lovely Palm Villas townhome. This was a return visit, as we were last there in late 2007. The condo is even nicer than before, with fresh paint, more beach toys and a very well stocked pantry. The gounds seem prettier and more lush, too. Our family of four had plenty of room and really enjoyed the easy access to the pool at the complex and the Beach Club. We look forward to coming back, hopefully soon.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. The description was accurate, the place was immaculate and well stocked with extra sheets/towels/ beach equipment and the location is terrific. The beach associated with Mauna Lani is beautiful and a great place for kids to snorkle. The owners are easy to work with and very helpful.

We loved every minute of our stay in this spacious, pristine and elegant townhouse. It was within walking distance of beach, stores and the Mauna Lani resort, and only steps from the Mauna Lani spa. The twonhouse is part of Palm Villas, a small, peaceful gated community, comprising a quiet and well-kept tropical garden with a very nice pool and hot tub. We especially appreciated the luxury propane grill on the lanai and the closed full of beach mats, boogie boards and snorkelling equipment. We will definitely be back!

The condo itself if very spacious and clean! Everything is top of the line! We had 5 adults and 1 child in our party all of us were amazed at how great this place is. The shopping center is close by as well as the best beach on the island "Hapuna" beach. The pool is about 30 steps away with an amazing water fall. Having the electronic gate also made us feel safe and at home. Thank you Trudy and Scott for alllowing us to stay at your place! It is truly a paradise!

Three generations (7 people ages 7-82, my father in-law in a wheelchair) and we still liked each other after 8 days at the condo!!!!!!!!!!! Plenty of room. Comfortable accommodations. Well-stocked kitchen (yes, I actually cooked during vacation). Trude and Scott were available and helpful while we were there. If you are a techophile, you may be a bit disappointed in the TVs. But, you are in Hawaii so why are you watching TV? Already told friends to stay there next time they visit the island.

This condo was a perfect fit for our family of 6, 2 adults/4 children (ages 10-18). The condo was very clean and comfortable. The condo grounds were quiet and very relaxing, nice pool as well. The stocked beach toys/towels/boogie boards were a bonus and the kids had a great time with them. The kids really enjoyed snorkeling at the Mauna Lani beach, and boogie boarding at Hapuna Beach Park. After a long hike out to Green Sand Beach from South Point our family loved the food at the Hana Hou restaurant (diner style casual–great burgers) in Na’alehu. The food–pizzas/pasta- at Café Pesto in Kawaihae just north of Mauna Lani resort was delicious too! The condo owners Trude and Scott were friendly and answered all our questions promptly. We would recommend this condo to anyone visiting the Kohala Coast.

Thank you so much for the lovely two-week vacation in your home. The beach was perfect for our age range (11-80). The highlights included: -watching the lava hit the ocean outside Volcano National Park -Seeing a turtle, a manta ray, and a snowflake eel in the water -The kayak trip at Kealakekua Bay -Three of us making it to the mauna loa crater and one of us making the summit! Best wishes for more Hawaiian holidays in 2010 and beyond.

My husband and I stayed at the condo with our 2 kids for a week. It is modern and beautiful, nicely appointed with beach towels, snorkeling masks (much better ones than your run of the mill rental), beach chairs, etc which saved us time and money... The back patio is nicely sheltered and overlooks beautiful gardens and right by the pool. The private beach the condo has access too is one of the nicest we visited and extremely convenient (lounge chairs provided, club/restaurant on premises). The condo is also a few minutes away from a tennis club and played there multiple times. In summary, awesome experience!

Just enjoyed a phenomenal stay in this condo and wish I could've stayed longer. Not only was it gorgeous and wonderfully furnished, the added details (snorkel and beach gear, full access to the beach club, TV's and DVD players in every bedroom, more) really made all of us (2 adults and 2 children) feel at home from day one. The spaciousness assured that we never felt cramped and the proximity to the pool and health club made for a very easy vacation. Thanks - can't wait to return!

My family just returned from a glorious week in Mauna Lani. I can't recommend this townhouse enough. It was beautifully decorated, super clean, comfortable and well stocked with EVERYTHING. It's like going home. Bring your bathing suit, clothes, shoes and toothbrush and you're set. We loved the ample beach gear that was provided along with lots and lots of towels. The kitchen is complete-down to the spices. We cooked twice daily and it was effortless. The bathrooms had everything we needed- shampoo and conditioner and soap etc. The location of the condo was great for kids. They had easy access to a backyard and the pool. We sent them out to play without much worry. The pool was gorgeous with a nice waterfall and a hot tub next to it. My husband worked out in the fitness room. I enjoyed walks to the beach- through lava caves, ancient fish ponds etc. Everyday I saw turtles resting, fish jumping and whales breaching. Just breathtaking. The snorkeling at the Mauna Lani Beach Club was prestine and because it is in an inlet, it was relatively shielded from the wind. The staff at the restaurant were terrific (the bartender gave my begging 5 year old a cup of marachino cherries and laughed). The fruit shakes were delightful and so were the burgers. Trude and Scott are wonderful, friendly and professional. We highly, highly recommend working with them to everyone! You'll definitely have memorable vacation here! Odette and Dave D'Aniello

“This is truly a gem of a vacation condo. This was our first VRBO experience and I don’t think that the bar could be raised any higher. The unit is beautiful, immaculate, spacious, full of glorious natural light and stocked with every amenity you can think of. The beach towels are plush and plentiful and the closet of beach toys/snorkels/etc is great! We traveled with our 2 small children (ages 2 & 4) and my mom and felt that we had a perfect family holiday in that we had wonderful, usable and ample “common” space in the condo and we all had our private space to enjoy when needed (the master bedroom/bathroom/lanai rock!). The pool/hot tub area is fenced with locked doors (very comforting with active toddlers) and the pool area is absolutely beautiful. The landscaping of the lawn and gardens is truly stunning and the views of the beautiful foliage more than make up for not having a view of the ocean. We also took full advantage of the Beach Club, which, in our opinion is one of the best family beaches in the area. Sometimes after you come home from your vacation and you reflect upon your holiday, you have a list of things that “could have been better”. Our list is blank. We’ll be back!! Thanks so much Trude! Lisa and family. 604-322-3267.”

Don't look any farther. This is a terrific 1st class place. It is as represented and Trude is very sweet and professional. You will not be disappointed. We were 6 adults with a 3 year old and baby. The condo always felt roomy and was very convenient to the pool for our 3 year old yet far enough away for quiet. The gorgeous white sand, calm, great snorkeling beach is a beautiful 10-15 minute walk by fish ponds. You will wish you had stayed longer as we did.

Wonderful Townhome! It was perfect for our family. There were 6 of us and it was plenty big. Nicely Decorated! Trude was wonderful to work with. We loved all of the extras in the front closet...chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, snorkel gear, flashlights, backpack, cooler and more. We made use of everything and it was all so nice to have on the beach. The location is perfect and within a 5 minute drive of some of the best beaches on the island. We didn't miss being right on the ocean at all. Our daughter loved the extra toys/books...Dora was her favorite. Would highly recommend and stay in the future! Thanks! Trude and Scott

A quiet, gated property in a beautiful location. This property is luxurious and immaculate. The landscaping is so beautiful and extremely well maintained. The pool is close but well screened by the landscaping. Spacious and very comfortable for our party of six. The closet full of water toys was a big plus and much appreciated. The nearby market (walking distance)and shops was a big convenience. Our son-in-law loved the outside kitchen.

Wow! We were very pleased and surprised by the luxurious.tastefully decorated townhome. The home is very well equipped from the kitchen to the bathrooms, we lacked nothing. We were a family of seven and each couple and child has an area to call their own. The bedrooms were very spacious and we loved the master suite! We felt well-rested each night not only because of the comfortable beds but the quiet area in which this townhome is located. We spent quite a bit of time at the pool and it was just steps outside the patio door. We loved to eat our evening meal on the patio, enjoying the outdoor grill and the beautiful grounds. The home was spotless and very well maintained. We didn't have a problem with anything, which wasn't the case with our rental in Maui. Thank you Trude and Scott for sharing your beautiful home. If we ever get back to Hawaii we definitely would stay at your place again.

Pictures don't do justice to this beautiful condo and the location is perfect in every respect; corner unit, close to a fabulous pool, short walk to the beach or to nearby restaurants and shops. We've been to the big island three times and stayed at the most luxurious resorts but after having stayed here, we don't plan to try anywhere else. We booked it again for next year just days after returning home.

We have just returned from our fabulous stay on the Big Island. The unit exceeded expectations in virtually every way. Rooms were graciously sized and everything is in new and quality condition. Access to the Beach Club, along with proximity to Hapuna Beach, was a big plus and we very much enjoyed the use of the boogie boards, snorkle equipment and other playthings. The unit is well located and its pool, and the entire complex, is lushly and attractively landscaped. There are not a large number of units in this neighborhood and this unit is in the back of the residential groupings so it affords a relaxing, quiet setting. We have stayed at the Mauna Lani hotel before, and it is quite nice, but we prefer the space and flexibilty that this unit offers and will definately be a returning guest. We have rented several units through this website and this one is a jewel. It features everything one might reasonably want unless one requires an ocean view.

We thoroughly enjoyed this townhouse. It was perfect for our party of 6 + infant (and even included a crib, so that we didn't have to transport ours). Every detail was thought of and we didn't need to bring anything. We made great use of the beach chairs, backpack, snorkels and boogy boards. The house was very convenient to the beaches in the area. The snorkeling off the private beach club was awesome and just a 10 min walk or 2 min drive away.

Our family of four and a friend and her child stayed in this condo for 9 days. The condo is beautiful, spacious and fully equiped. Everything is brand new. The owners thought of every little detail. We walked in and immediatley felt comfortable and at home. What surprised me the most was the closet that was well stocked with beach chairs, toys, a cooler, a backpack.... all things that we could not have brought to Hawaii but they definitely came in handy. About 5 miles from the condo is a beautiful beach, Hapuna, that we went to almost every day. The Lanai is great in the evenings we cooked out and enjoyed the view of the pool. It is very quite an peaceful.

Our family just returned from an amazing vacation in this luxurious townhome. The unit had everything that was needed for a great stay. It was nice not to have to bring our own beach towels, chairs, cooler, etc., especially when you have three children like we do. The grounds of the complex are beautiful and the pool is right outside the patio door. The Mauna Lani resort and ocean are an easy 5-10 minute walk away. An added bonus of staying in the Kohala area of the Big Island is that you are only a 5 minute drive to the 2 best beaches on the island, Hapuna and the beach at the Mauna Kea. The owners were very easy to deal with, I highly recommend this unit.
