Welcome to our unique one of a kind vacation rental home nestled on the waterfront of Lake Shafer in Monticello Indiana near Indiana Beach Amusement Park. Our home has that warm cottage feel to it and is extremely kid friendly, being that we have 4 children of our own to chase around. Our house will comfortably sleep 6-10 people. We have a trundle bed that turns into a king, a queen, a double or full, a pack en play , a roll away cot and 2 queen sleeper sofas. Plenty of room for the whole family.
Walk out of our sliding glass doors and sit and relax in our bench swing suspended under 2-100 foot tall oak trees and watch your tension and stress just disappear. If that doesn't do the trick try sitting at the end of one of our 2 piers and let your feet dangle in the water as you watch ducks swim quietly past. Lake Shafer has over 50 miles of shoreline to explore. We are just minutes from Indiana Beach Amusement Park by boat or car. We love watching the water ski and diving shows from the lake. We also love to go swimming at a secret spot just a few minutes away from us called volleyball beach where the action is nonstop all day long. Tippecanoe country club and the sand bar are a couple of the nearby restaurants that are accessible from the lake and have piers to tie off your boat. Fishing with the kids off of our pier is also a family favorite.
We have 2 piers and plenty of room to dock your boat, so bring it with. The boat ramp is $5 and is located 1/2 mile from our house. We also have plenty of parking for your trailer and cars. We have parked a 17 ft trailer and 6 cars so don't worry there is plenty of room. Boating and fishing are both very popular on Lake shafer some of the best bluegill fishing in Indiana is at the Norway Dam,
(don't tell them I told you it's a big secret ). We have tons of life vests for you and the kids. We also have a nice new round rotating clothesline for drying suits.
I am an avid golfer who likes to play the courses out here when I get a chance, Pine view has a nice 9 hole par 3 course and Tippecanoe Country Club has a nice 18, which can be challenging. Yes I will leave one set of right handed clubs for anyone to use.
Indiana Beach Amusement park also has a nice kid friendly water park. We have been going there for the last 30 years and I can tell you the rides and friendly atmosphere are great for any family vacation. Indiana Beach has a great area loaded with kiddie rides for the little ones. This amusement park has the excitement of the big amusement parks with roller coasters, haunted house, tilt a whirl, etc. Yes there is more than corn here in Indiana.
We are pet friendly for dogs only. Dogs are permitted in our rental home only with prior approval and a fee of $20/day or $100/week. Dogs must be on leashes at all times. Pet owners must scoop the poop. Pets are not allowed on furniture or carpet and must be gated on the tile floor when not in the dog run. All dogs must have their rabies shots and we advise you get them a good tick collar or topical because they are in this area. Dog owners assume all liability for their dogs actions.
We are kid friendly. We are parents and know all about blues clues, the wiggles, elmo,cinderella etc... We provide one high chair and a booster seat. We also provide a pack en play foldable crib and yes it's sturdy our kids sleep in it too. We also provide kids movies and toys , so you don't have to pack too much, extra stuffed animals also. Kids books and sippy cups.Our outdoor playground is sensational. Kids rated it as a AAA+.

We have a dog run, bowls, gates, dogs are not allowed on the carpet. Fleas and ticks are in this area and make sure you get your dog a flea collar we use Advantage topical and it works good. Dog owners must clean up their dog's poop. Dogs must be on leashes.
