Why the Owner Chose Other Silverthorne Properties
I chose this condo because of its supurb view, its location in Wildernest, and the easy access to free public transportation to all Summit County ski areas.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I love watching all the birds that come at our feeder on the balcony-- hummingbirds in the summer and blue jays in the winter. We even occasionally see a moose visiting the beaver pond just below our complex.
Owner's Map of Other Silverthorne Properties
I live in the Front Range north of Denver. I use the "Schussduck" as a vacation retreat-- a place to get away from it all. I love skiing, hiking, and fishing, all within easy reach of the condo.

Wow! This website photos absolutely undersell the beauty of this location. It was our first trip to Colorado and we couldn't have asked for a more amazingly, gorgeous base. The view from the master bedroom window is jaw-droppingly stunning in every direction. The condo was immaculate, nicely appointed and very quiet since we were there during the waning days of ski season. There were coupon books for local shopping (much like you probably buy from your local school kids) as well as "frequent shopper" key tags for the nearby grocery store. The view coming down the mountain from the condo into Silverthorne is breathtaking at every turn. There are other condos along the route up and down, but I doubt any have better views than this one! We didn't use the local shuttle bus but saw it frequently, so it appears like a great option for getting around the area. We are flatlanders and make the trek from about 500 feet about sea level to 9,000+ in one day. It took all of us about 3 days to fully acclimate (Even the flight of stairs to the second floor were a challenge!) but it was so worthwhile. We filled up the hummingbird feeder on the deck and had birds within hours. We used the grill to make burgers one night and did low-key hiking around the area too. There were kids along so we made good use of the Breckenridge and Silverthorne recreation centers (coupons were on the back of the grocery receipt as well as in local discount papers). Sue was wonderful to work with and our security deposit was returned quickly. I'm looking forward to returning as often as I can get the time off. Speaking of time off, I had to work quite a bit in the evenings and the internet connection was more than adequate for my needs. There is a desk upstairs on the landing, which was a great spot to keep my laptop fired up. Thank you for a fantastic time in your vacation home!

We've been coming for three years and will be back for another week in the summer; wouldn't miss it for the world. What an unbelievably great experience for all five of us. Our kids are delighted with the hiking and the condo, we parents are delighted with the views, the warmth of our hosts, the ease of cooking in the kitchen, and the peaceful quiet in this condo. Wonderful accommodations for a family of five. Whether we're taking the kids up the ski lift, riding the free shuttle to play in the park or the rec center, or just kicking around, it's the best summer vacation experience we could ever imagine.

Thanks your hospitality! We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in Colorado! We felt at home and you provided everything we needed, and more, to have a comfortable, pleasant vacation. The mountain views were absolutely amazing. It was cool to see hang gliders and ballooners in the distance. We enjoyed many fabulous hikes, with trailheads footsteps away from our front door. The hot tubs were so relaxing with great views as well. Summit county has so much to offer, the condo has a great location for so many activities and day trips. We're only sorry that our vacation is over. We will definetly bring our mountain bikes next time, what wonderful trails abound there!

Sue: We just got home from our second visit to the Schuss Duck and felt that we simply had to tell you how much we enjoyed it. It is as wonderful as we had remembered! The fireworks on the 4th of July at the Frisco Marina is the most fun we've had on the forth in years. We will return again. Summit County is indeed Colorado's Playground!

We enjoyed our stay at your condo. It was spacious and very nice. The view was spectacular! We filled the bird feeder and really enjoyed watching the birds have breakfast every morning. The snow was perfect, there was some snow every night, so the skiing was great!

What a perfect place for a family to enjoy Christmas all together! The condo is so comfy and cozy, but we still made it out to the slopes 4 days this week. When we weren't skiing we were cooking and watching movies. There was something for everyone. The view is breath-taking from the master bedroom, especially watching the sun come up.
