Villa Liana is situated in a unique position, as it stands on the western bank of Lake Maggiore from which you can also contemplate the beauty of the Piedmontese Alps, including the famous Monte Rosa, the second highest peak of Europe.

The service offered at Villa Liana is mainly one of bed and breakfast that is available year round. For this service, two rooms with two beds each and one shared bathroom are available. During certain periods of the year (mainly during the spring and the summer) it is possible to rent the whole property on a weekly basis.

Italian lessons are offered by the host Luisa Valenziani who lives in Villa Liana with her husband,Edoardo Lanfranchi and who has taught italian and english her whole life, also at the New York University. Both are incredible cooks and experts on local products and will be happy to provide a dinner service for a small additional fee. Breakfast is, naturally, included, and you can enjoy it either in the dining room, terrace, patio or garden.

One of Villa Liana's beauties is her garden, which is at its top splendor during the spring. Its palm trees provide shady, quiet spots during the summer, and it also numerous fruits and vegetables growing.
Swimming and water sports are only half a mile away and ski slopes during the winter season are twenty minutes away by car or by cable car from Stresa.

Villa Liana is situated between the two well known towns of Arona and Stresa which offer a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, movie theatres, clubs and various other local attractions. To many the name of Stresa may ring a bell as it was one of Earnest Hemingway's favourite romantic spots in Italy.

  • My week in Liana was an exquisite introduction to the lake area of Italy. The mountains and lakes are all around and make you feel comforted as you are nestled into their nearness. That is nothing, however, to the coziness and comfort of being with Luisa and Dado in their warm and comforting villa with the glorious views and delightful company of the hosts. Perhaps you will be there when one of their daaughters is at home. If so, prepare for a treat for the eyes and the mind! The whole family is intelligent, fun, educated and interested in everything. What more could one ask!!??

  • This villa and the glorious areas surrounding it are not to be missed. Nor are the fantastic meals prepared by the Lanfranchis. A true added bonus is the Italian lessons given by Luisa who is a marvelous Italian teacher. I’ve taken Italian lessons from several teachers and Luisa is definitely the best. The home itself is comfortable, spacious and beautiful. The views are fantastic. When I was there during the month of August we swim in the lakes, visited the Alps and some of the most romantic villages ever imagined. I recommend this spot to any and all.   • Lago Maggiore in general, and Villa Liana in particular, are near-perfect destinations to relax, unwind, and enjoy the combination of a beautiful lake, serious mountain hiking, and rich Italian culture. We can't wait to return to the fantastic warm hospitality provided by Luisa and Dado!

  • My husband and I and two friends spent a wonderful week at this beautiful and comfortable B&B on gorgeous Lago Maggiore. Both Luisa and her husband Edoardo were warm and welcoming. They helped us choose touring programs of the area which were thoughtful and interesting and cooked the most delicious meals. We felt just like we were visiting friends! We will definitely be returning to this lovely part of Italy and staying here for another "taste" of the Bella Vita.
