Nestled in spruce and aspen trees, this cozy log home is perfect for your summer getaway. It is secluded, yet very accessible year round. Every window in the house has a beautiful view of the 14,000 foot mountains surrounding Lake City. Relax on the back porch that runs the length of the house while listening to the roar of the Argenta Falls waterfall off the back of the property.
The quaint town of Lake City is only four miles away, while beautiful Lake San Cristobal is within walking distance of only 1/2 miles. Public fishing is plentiful around Lake City if you want to fish for trout in the streams or lake. We have easy access to the Alpine Loop and you can drive straight from our house on your ATVs.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms and one bath with an open floor plan upstairs, plus a mother-in-law efficiency apartment downstairs. Each level is complete with a bath, full kitchen and washer/dryer.

Tremendous, relaxing vacation among the magnificent Fall color of the high mountains. The cabin & location are just as advertised. Very clean, great location, easy access to Lake City & the surrounding sites. It's just like having your own home in the mountains. The owners are very pleasant & were responsive to our needs. This area truly has some of Colorado's most beautiful mountain scenery. We hiked, rented a 4 wheel jeep to drive the Alpine Loop road, saw lots of wildlife, shopped Lake City, & visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park as well as Creede. We spent 2 weeks here, but it seemed like less than a week's time, as we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Argenta Falls Cabin.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We just returned from a week long stay at the wonderful Argenta Falls Cabin! We have been visiting the area for the past 25 years and absolutely love it. The cabin was the most comfortable home we have rented. It was cozy, comfortable, and well cared for. The owner called us to ensure everything was ok. That was extremely thoughtful!!! We hope to return year after year!!! Thanks so much for helping us have a relaxing vacation!!! It was the best!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

The cabin is everything it looks to be. Open the windows or sit on the porch and listen to the falls rushing. Well appointed, clean, and proximity to Lake San Cristobal and 4wheeler access to Cinnamon Pass made our stay even better. The owner is most accommodating and easy to deal with. She even called to make sure everything was ok. I will definitely try to stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

After days of sightseeing, riding ATV's through the mountain passes, fishing, hiking, and shopping Lake City we were always be able to come "home" to the beautiful cabin. To sit on the back porch or go to sleep listening to the Argenta Falls lullabies were some of the memorable highlights of this vacation rental. We shared the cabin with another couple and two girls ages 18 and 24. While the girls lodged in the apartment downstairs, we were able to eat, play and pray together upstairs. We had two washing machines and dryers making clean-up fast and easy. This is a great location, near moose, deer and even though we never saw any bears, we took precautions. The falls are extremely close, and this is why it's not recommended for families with young children. They are beautiful and to be respected. The cabin has everything you would want or need to stay a week or more. Clean and even instructions for the many hummingbirds and the pot plants to make you feel welcomed. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home for our vacation! It was absolutely perfect! After 20 some odd years of staying in vacation homes, your home was by far the best! It was so cozy and comfortable! You can tell how much it is cared for by its welcoming appearance and beauty. The hanging baskets and the humming bird feeders and the wonderful porch make a relaxing atmosphere. The roar of the falls are so relaxing and make a perfect setting. Your home made our vacation stay great! We hope we are able to stay here again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We were thrilled with the location, cleanliness,and the attention to detail to make our stay so relaxing. It was ALL we expected from your description PLUS! We rode our Atv's, went for a breakfast horseback ride, and the kids and grandkids enjoyed fishing in the lake. Also, checkers on the deck was a hit when grandpa had to rest up from to much activity....:). The waterfall sang us to sleep everynight. Already planning a trip back next year. We just returned from Lake City Colorado where we stayed at the "Cozy Cabin in the Woods". This is the perfect vacation for families with older children or adults. The minute we walked into the cabin we felt instantly at home. The view of the mountains and pine trees from the back porch is fantastic! We went horseback riding, fly fishing, rode the ATV trails and took a watercolor painting class all just minutes from the cabin. I would definitely recommend this wonderful vacation home!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About the owner: The mountains have been a part of our entire married life. Gail vacationed always in Colorado as a child growing up and still remembers trips that were made by her family in Lake City. After renting for several years, we finally 'stumbled upon' our lovely cabin at Argenta Falls. We absolutely love the peace and solitude as well as the beauty. Being so close to the Falls makes sitting on the back porch serene, and a walk to Lake San Cristobal gives us the opportunity to view one of the most beautiful lakes in Colorado.
