Location: Mi-Wuk Village, Gold Country & High Sierra, California, USA (120 Miles from Bay Area, 18 Miles to Dodge Ridge)

Accommodations:  Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 10-12)

This adorable cabin built in the 50's is great for families wanting to explore the wonderful outdoors that are located in the area. Dodge Ridge is 18 miles away, Black Oak Casino is nine miles away, Sonora is only 15 miles away, ice skating in Long Barn is minutes away. There is so much to do and see in this area of California.

The first floor of the cabin hosts a living room with TV and DVD player, books for reading, dining area, wood burning fireplace (main source of heat), kitchen fully equipped with freestanding stove, microwave, fridge, pots, pans, dishes, etc. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and TV the second bedroom has a queen Bed. The bathroom has a stall shower.

Upstairs is the loft with two twin beds and two queens. There is also a couch and chair and TV with VCR and board games. Great place for the kids to hang out.

Mi Wuk Village hosts a couple of restaurants, a general store (equipped with snow boots, sleds, fishing items, etc) a laundry mat, car wash, just up the road in Sierra Village is a great Pizza Parlor, gas and store.

  • We are located in GOLD COUNTRY. Columbia State Park is less than 30 minutes away. Unique shopping is located all around in Sonora, Twain Harte, Jamestown and the other many smaller towns. This cabin is on a fairly flat lot. No hiking up or down hill to get to the cabin. Just park your car and walk in the front door.

  • Oh me, oh my what a wonderful time we had. First off it was suuuuuper easy to get up to that area - that was remarkable in itself (I plan to sky much more from now on) The cabin was qaint and wonderful. My family of 6 love it. We walked in and it was immaculately kept and smelled like a like a hotel! (very clean) There was plenty of firewood and keeping the place warm wasn't hard at all.(important when you have young children) I tell ya if ya need a personal or family get away this is it. Quiet and beautiful. Store right down the street. Steak dinner within walking distance. Can't wait to go back. A stone's throw from the national park. Then neighbors were friendly too. Thanks for the gingerbread kit too Diane. My kids are still munchin - lol. I know I'm pouring it on thick but let me just say this made our first white Christmas wonderful.   • Our party of 6 adults, 4 children stayed here mid August 2007. Several deer ran across the road as we arrived. The cabin is nice, clean, well maintained with all amenities promised and in good working order, enough beds for 10-12 people. There are neighboring cabins but plenty of trees around - generally a quiet woodsy area. Owner is pleasant and easy to work with. Definitely recommend this cabin and location. The area: thick pine forests and mountains; Pinecrest lake, a good swimming and boating lake, though water is cool, is only a short distance up the highway. Kids very much enjoyed a visit to a llama ranch near Sonora. Murphys, CA is less than an hour away.

  • The house lived up to our expectations. Nice and clean and comfortable. Good location for skiing, 20 minutes to Dodge Ridge. Would definitely stay here again!

  • I spent a weekend in this charming cabin with my fiends and family. Our stay was at the end of summer. The cabin was so cozy and plenty of room for all of us. The area is so beautiful. We enjoyed walking everywhere. I can't wait to go back in the winter and see it with snow all aroumd. That big ol' fireplace will be so cozy. The kids had a ball...the upstairs is a huge loft from which you can look down in to the main living area. Our family is "hooked". This will definately be a new family tradition!
