This home is cool, spacious, (5,500sf), with (3) floor levels, (5) bedrooms and sleeps 10+. 1 bedroom on the GROUND and PENTHOUSE levels and 3 bedrooms on the SECOND level. Big pool and only 50 yards to the sandy beach and warm Gulf ocean. Lovely ocean views from the top terrace.
?Villa “Castillo Nicte-Ha”, (can be found on the Internet), is complete for a comfortable vacation with the comforts of home. It is situated in a quiet tranquil beach area of beach homes, 20 miles North of Merida, in CHICXULUB, Yucatan, Mexico, (7 miles East of Progreso).
Visit nearby Mayan ruins and historic capital city of Merida, with its charm, restaurants, night clubs and shopping etc, but afterwards, you will welcome this lovely cool beach home.
The Villa is spacious, and well ventilated with cooling sea breezes and screened doors and windows.
It is twenty minutes drive to the nearest Mayan site. 10 minutes to the super market and restaurants in Progreso.

Total occupancy can be increased to 14+. There are two queen sofa beds plus several additional hammocks.

? PENTHOUSE: AC. Spacious, completely private suite and terrace. Ocean views and lovely sunsets on the large partially covered terrace, over looking the pool. Patio tables, chairs and hammocks. BBQ. Great for entertaining at cocktail hour. Dining table seats 6 plus 4 more at the kitchen table.
? NOTE! Each floor level is private and self contained, with living, dining room, kitchen and separate entrance. Each floor can be reserved for groups of 2 to 8 persons @ reduced rates. Contact the owner.

The Villa is self catering, with an on-site house keeper 24/7. Cook available for additional $30 per day, upon request.
Moderate temperatures all year, make Chicxulub an all year round destination for Canadians and visitors facing cold winter months. Here, "winter" temperatures are 62F to 78F, with sunny days to walk the beach.
Progreso is a larger town, seven miles west of Chicxulub, with two supermarkets, stores, shopping, Internet cafe's. Cruise ships dock twice a week, attracting local artisans.
Merida City, 20 miles south of Progreso, is an older 1700's colonial town, fine old buildings and boulevards lined with colorful flowering trees, museums, shops, plazas, night life and many free cultural activities in plazas and 3 elegant theaters with mostly free events. Excellent medical services.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.
Most of the theater concerts and events are free. Obtain tickets in person at the theaters for all events. Yucatan’s capital city, Merida, has an historic town center, with four theaters, many charming restaurants and outdoor dining. A wonderful Cathedral, the oldest on the American mainland is worth a visit in the main plaza, a place where students congregate at night. Many night clubs and activities, all within a few blocks. The Mayan Museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city worth a visit.
Folkloric and other dances and concerts take place often and weekly in the main plaza.
The State of Yucatan with many colonial cities, abounds with Mayan architectural ruins. Well known Chichen Itza, is a two hour drive, Uxmal about one and a half hours. Dizibilchaltum is 20 minutes. Cancun is four hours by toll road.
The Mexican Riviera, 4 hours drive to the east, with many attractions, extends 100 miles south of Cancun. Roads are good. Central Plazas are the hub of life in all towns and interesting to observe. The town of Campeche, (2 hrs drive) built by the Spanish, has 6 old forts to explore.
Explore also, early and grand Haciendas built in late 1800's, to process and manufacture sisal rope from Henequen cactus plants. Swim and dive in underground Cenotes and caves.
Many local flamingo lagoons along the coast road salt flats, where 1000's of pink Flamingos can be seen.

BOOKING DEPOSIT: Half of the total rental is required to secure reservation dates. We will hold your dates for 10 days from an email or verbal reservation. We accept checks. Rental balance plus $300 SECURITY DEPOSIT is due 60 days before arrival.
FLIGHTS to Merida International Airport (MID), from Mexico City takes one and a half hours flight, Miami is two hours, Cancun one hour. Los Angeles is about 6 hours, with a change in Mexico City or Houston, Texas.

Some information about us. Our primary home is in Los Angeles, but we spend 5/6 months in residence on the top floor at the Villa in Chicxulub, Yucatan,Some information about us. Our primary home is in Los Angeles, but we spend 5/6 months in residence on the top floor at the Villa, our second home in Mexico. We also rent out this Villa so some dates may not be available. We could/may be in residence on the top floor to advise on the area, but who knows. . Anie traveled with the US State Department for many years and now a realtor/mentor in LA and semi retired and speaks 5 languages. Stan is a PE in California, Mechanical Engineer., We are an active dancing couple and enjoy cruises. We are close to many Mayan archealogical sites, Dzibilchaltun 20 minutes, Xcambo 30 km, CHICHEN ITZA is a 2 hours drive. Cancun, 4 hours drive. Weather is always warm, some times humid but always a breeze at the beach. our second home in Mexico. We also rent out this Villa. We could/may be in residence on the top floor to advise on the area, but who knows. We enjoy traveling and our onsite 24/7 Spanish speaking caretaker, will take care of the Villa when we do so.

We built this Villa so that our families could enjoy our good fortune. Where else can you live at the beach so economically. Anie was born in Merida and has lots of wonderful and caring family here.
We are close to many Mayan archealogical sites, Dzibilchaltun 20 minutes, Xcambo 30 km, CHICHEN ITZA is a 2 hours drive. Cancun, 4 hours drive. We love the weather. It is always warm, some times humid but always a breeze at the beach and it is quiet and peaceful, no traffic.
