I must say we all had such a great time that we had to stay 2 days longer :-) This is the best location for a Cabin period ! ! ! You will feel like you are part of the beautiful nature surrounding you. The River is right below the Cabin and we spent a lot of time down there. We all had so much fun fishing, almost everybody in our party caught a fish, we took pictures and put the fish back in the River so others had a chance to catch one "use corn". The inside of the Cabin is beautiful and gives you that true cabin feeling. The kitchen is very well equipped you can make anything from dinner to cake it made my wife and my mother feel like at home, they did a lot of cooking ;-) This was a great experience for all of us and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much to Sloane and her husband for letting us stay in a piece of heaven called Cabin Fever :-)

Great Cabin

Had a great time with family. We visited some antique stores and the carnival was in town that weekend, it was alot of fun, brought back some good memories. The cabin is wonderful, didn't even need to leave. We got some much needed rest!!

Family Getaway

My wife and I took our daughters, ages 6 and 10, to the cabin for a long weekend over mother's day. Everything was perfect. The cabin was well equipped; we could have left half of what we brought at home. The atmosphere was great too. We felt so secluded. In fact, we could only see one other house, which was across the river on a bluff. Every night was spent at the fire pit by the river making smores and listening to the girls tell ghost sories. During the day, we took long walks along the river and did some fishing as well. If the water had been a little warmer, it would have been a perfect spot to put the inter tubes in the water. All in all, a great trip. My wife is trying to plan the next trip.

Cajun's Enjoy Mountain Getaway

Fabulous vacation spot. I'm usually awake at 4:30 am every morning, work or no work. For some strange reason I was able to sleep till 9:00 or 10:00 am every day. Must have been that clean mountain air? Sooooo relaxing. We were able to shop downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge before the Christmas snow. Very nice. Lots of great antique shop's. Ate lunch at the Whistle Stop in Blue Ridge. Best chili/cheese fries ever. Woke Christmas morning to a winter wonderland. Enjoyed playing in the snow with my son and walks with my wife. Wildlife was incredible. Saw many deer, turkeys, squirrels and beautiful cardinals that enjoyed eating the bird seeds we left for them. Local cabin owner's were very nice and helpful. They surely went out of their way to help the Cajun's and Floridian's who didn't have a clue of driving in the snow!!!!!!!!

This had to be one of the best getaways that I have had to please to go on. We travel very often and go lots of differant places, but this I enjoyed the most!! When you turn into the drive way to the house it is the most peace suroundings that you will ever have the pleasure of seeing!! We enjoyed everything about our stay and did not want to leave. The cabin itself is just beautiful and very well stocked with everything you need. It didnt lack for anything!! This fishing was also wonderful, we caught several large trout. We went walking on their private drive along the creek and I can sit here and just re-picture it and wish I was still there. I will be planning another trip there!! The owner told me that I would probably want to get groceries before we got there, and she was right because once you get into the cabin you will not want to leave again!! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your family's BEAUTIFUL cabin! I think I've found our new vacation spot. It's convenient. It's rustic. It's loaded with lots to do. It's perfect! I can't believe how convenient it was to the Apple Festival, too. We had a grand, relaxing time. I came back to work telling everyone about it, showing off the pictures and they all asked for your VRBO number (best site ever!!!). Our family will definitely be back.

Wonderful Weekend at Cabin Fever

We had a wonderful weekend in this lovely cabin. It is just as described on VRBO only better. We didn't want to leave, we spent each evening sitting by the stream relaxing. The walk to the stream takes about 30 seconds and is just beautiful. We saw wild turkeys and deer on our drive out every morning on the short trip to downtown Ellijay and the 20 minute drive to Blue Ridge. We came during the Apple Festival but the real draw for us is the quaint shops in downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge. It was also close enough for us to get to Burt's Pumpkin Patch and Amicalola falls in about 30 minutes and beat the Suday crowd.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Cabin Fever. The cabin is quite large and beautifully decorated with full amenities. We cooked several meals here and did not lack for any utensils. The couches and beds were also very comfortable. Our favorite features included the big hot tub and the beautiful views of the river and woods from the deck. I spent many hours drinking coffee in a rocking chair just listening to the river. One thing to note, the roads around the property can be quite steep...there were a couple of times when I wasn't sure if our loaded minivan would make it up the hill (it did). The owners were very accommodating and made sure all our needs were met, and then some. Downtown Ellijay is about a 15-20 minute drive from the cabin. There are some cute antique shops and cafes and the "locals" are extremely friendly. We also visited some of the nearby apple orchards and the town of Blue Ridge (about 35-40 minutes away). When it came time to leave, we were all a bit sad. Our kids kept asking for , "...one more day...just one more day!!" I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin for a romantic getaway or for a family vacation (especially in the summertime when it would be warm enough to play in the river!) Should we return to the area, we will certainly book this same cabin again. Good local restaurants: Charley's Italian, Cajun Depot, Harvest (in Blue Ridge), Mercier Orchard for fried fruit pies Local attractions: Bert's pumpkin patch, any of the apple orchards/farms, Amicola Falls, downtown Ellijay, downtown Blue Ridge, the train at Blue Ridge, downtown Dahlonega

Labor Day Stay 2009

We stayed here in 2009 over Labor Day Weekend (thought I'd writen a review) and while it was absolutely gorgeous and cleanly; we ran into two problems: there was debris in the hot tub and had to clean it out 2) the grill had old dried food on it that was molding. We did clean out the tub ourselves (or my MIL did) and then we had to use the broiler in the oven for our steak dinner which wasn't nearly as delicious. Other than that, my girls had so much fun learning how to fish and using their inner tubes to float in the river. One important thing was that everything inside (bathrooms and beds) was very clean.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE, MY ENTIRE FAMILY ENJOYED THIS LITTLE PLACE IN HEAVEN. THE WEATHER WAS COLD BUT GREAT!!!! THE HOUSE WAS BEAUTIFUL, VERY MUCH BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS AND WAS VERY EXCLUDED FROM THE WORLD. THE HEARING OF THE RUSH OF THE CREEK SO SOOTHING, WISH I COULD HAVE LET THE DOOR OPEN BUT IT WAS TOO COLD. WE SAW DEER EVERYDAY, ONE DAY OF RAIN AND THAT WAS EVEN GREAT. This was our family's 2nd stay at "Cabin Fever." Our first stay was only for a weekend and not long enough so we decided to spend Thanksgiving break in Elijay and already knew the perfect spot! The location is wonderful - we don't even leave the house. Our children were well occupied fishing all day long! Of course, they also look forward to a nice splash in the hot tub. It is extremely relaxing to just sit and listen to the river flowing. We look forward to our next visit! We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing location and a gorgeous home.

We just finished a 2-day stay at Cabin Fever and it just wasn't long enough. What a great cabin!! Our grandchildren and their parents visited with us and we all had a great time. The cabin was wonderful and the grandchildren especially enjoyed the water and how close we were to it. We hope to come back to visit this cabin in the near future. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing time in Ellijay.

Our 5 nights here were GREAT! My grandchildren loved playing in the water, watching the birds, and the hot tub. My husband and son LOVED being able to practically walk out the door and fish.I loved the quiet serenity of the woods. We saw many deer and turkey along the road as we went in and out of the resort. The house was very, very nice. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away. Owners were very nice.

We could not have asked for a more ideal stay, the property owners are fantastic and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. the pictures on the web site do not do it justice, it was a peice of Heaven I can not recomend this property enough.

If you are looking for the perfect getaway for you and your family, then this is it!!! We could not have asked for a more beautiful, more inviting place on earth! This was a Memorial Day that we will never forget. Our purpose was a 'Girls Weekend'. We had a blast! We went panning for gold and gem mining, and then we hiked to the top of Amicalola Falls. Fishing was also a top priority. We will definitely return to Cabin Fever!!!

We have stayed at quite a few cabins and this one is the best! The location is perfect! We had a great time tubing and fishing right in front of the cabin and the trails were great for riding the 4-wheelers. The cabin is beautifully decorated and is kept immaculate. We definately have "Cabin Fever" and can't wait to go back. This is the perfect place to get away from the city and enjoy nature at it's best!

Absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful!! My family loved everything and wants to go back next year for a full week. The views are breathtaking, the proch divine and the hot tub relaxing!! It was fun to tube right out our back door. As my husband told our 10 year old on the porch one night"It sounds like a symphony with all the night noises" Ellijay is quaint and the golf course (Whitepath) was great as well! Enjoy

My youngest son and I stayed in this beautiful cabin for a father-son getaway. This was a birthday present for Dillon (12) and myself as our birthdays are just 10 days apart. My goal was to teach him to fly fish - and boy was this the right spot. We had the stream to ourselves and caught several trout right in front of the cabin - one was the largest I have ever hooked in the 30 years that I have been fly fishing for trout! Had to go 7 lbs or better (and he is still there!) The cabin itself was even better than the pictures. Beautiful, big, open and immaculate yet cozy. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and laid out. After a chilly day fishing, the hot tub was just the ticket - this is no ordinary hot tub! I beleive my son counted 16 jets just on one section! Fireplace, large TV, comfortable beds and linens - no roughing it here! Ellijay is a cool little town as well, all of the ameneties and still that small town feel. We will definitely be back! You cannot go wrong with this cabin!

What a beautiful place. Somewhere to sit and listen and think of nothing. This was a birthday present for my husband and we had a great time. We fished in the morning, walked down the path in the woods, played putt putt, went swimming and enjoyed the hot tub. We come up to this area a lot and this, by far, is the nicest place we have stayed. Thank you for all the thought you put into making a wonderful getaway. Such a clean and comfortable cabin! Wanted to say this is such a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The cabin is better than I ever dreamed it could be. Beautiful furniture walls, and decor. The privacy, outdoors, and quiet is beyond belief. My husband and I are enjoying the most wonderful vacation we have ever taken. It is breathtaking here.
