Have you ever wondered what the Sounds of Silence are? You will be able to hear them on this farm.
The house is located on a family run tree farm. It's huge windows give you a view that will keep you looking for hours, it is built from our own harvested wood, and the floor came from a dismantled local church.
If the season is right you can watch migrating birds fly in swarms over your head. You may spot many types of toucans, birds of prey, and woodpeckers! There is a small butterfly farm just a few steps from the main house, just for the fun of it.
You can see many native trees, as well as trees grown for harvesting. Pick blackberries, guavas, sour oranges, and fruits you never knew existed; have a barbecue in front of the best view in Costa Rica!
If you like to KAYAK, this is a great place to have a base. The Pacuare and Reventazon Rivers are just minutes away. Daily Rafting trips are available from local tour operator.
Owner (fluent in English and Spanish) is available by email or phone in the USA and is an excellent resource for information about the land and environment of Costa Rica. The house is the family's retreat and has a library of books in Spanish and English. The fireplace is perfect for the cool evenings, there will be a supply of wood for you.
You can take day trips to many local places of interest, always returning at the end of the day to rest and read or watch local TV. Internet is in the town of Turrialba, about 45 minutes away.
There are 3 very friendly outside dogs that will join you on your walks in the jungle or around the farm.
Jungle treks with a local guide are available, this is a high light for many visitors.
The jungle is your backyard, you will not have neighbors but, you will have a peaceful, relaxing, exciting and very different experience at The Sounds of Silence Farm.
