Just stayed two months at the Carriage House.Its a small vacation home that we enjoyed..You will be living among the locals which can be loud and annoying at times...You can rent bikes and have your laundry done right next store...The bathroom is outside on the deck which was not a problem for us however can be a little spooke at night..Overall average stay for the price,Enjoy Puerto Viejo for all it has to offer...Eccentic locals,great coffee everywhere,,beaches nearbye house.short walk to town..Fully stocked pots,pans,ect..
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

The carriage house is even cuter in person! Everything you need is supplied. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I really enjoyed my time there. Three things - The bathroom is located outside of the main house. This wasn't a huge deal, expect when you have to use it in the middle of the night and are in search of the keys for the deadbolt! Also, the shower never really gets hot or cold - just lukewarm. Again, not that big of a deal. The carriage house is situated next door to an array of apartments. The neighbors, friendly folks, but also VERY loud. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this may not be ideal. Again, I enjoyed the house and would probably stay there again. We walked (less than 10 minutes) into town multiple times a day. The owner has a huge safe and an alarm system - your belongings will be very secure.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
