We loved staying in this house! It was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. The furnishings and yard are perfect for a family with children as the house is just the right kind of funky that you don't have to worry about the kids running around or messing things up. The fully enclosed back yard with a swing and beautiful patio are great for coffee in the morning, a badminton game in the afternoon, and drinks in the evening. Close to downtown and the theaters, we walked everywhere. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We recently rented this very comfortable and charming home for a girlfriend retreat. We enjoyed our coffee on the deck out back, played poker, cruised Ashland, attended several plays. There were 5 of us and we had a ball. It was close to everything so some could stay back if they were not in the mood for an adventure. We drove to nearby Jacksonville, visited Harry and David's down the road, Crater Lake...played tennis in Lithia Park, took in a full-day drive around the historic Jacksonville loop and stopped at several terrific wineries to sample the local vintages. We especially enjoyed a picnic at Ciao winery...who could resist with that name. The price was very fair, the kitchen had coffee and many amenities we did not have to buy. Agave restaurant nearby was terrific so we didn't cook much. Loved it. Thank YOU!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+.

We stayed in this house over the Christmas Holiday and found it to be comfortable and clean. The pictures on the VRBO site are a little deceptive, though. I would not label this house, "charming." I guess the fact that it was built in 1905 explains the slanted floor in the living and dining room. The furniture was old and mismatched and some of the kitchen cabinets wouldn't stay closed, but the beds were comfortable and the heat worked. (Important since the temperature went down to the 20's at night!) It is located at the intersection of two busy streets with lots of traffic, but we really liked the fact that we could walk downtown in about 10 minutes. The owner was always available and very helpful when we spoke on the phone. With some redecorating and maintenance, this cute house would be a real bargain.Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: I appreciate all reviews, but want future guests to know that the pictures on the VRBO site do show the actual furniture/fixtures that are in the house, and the listing clearly states that the house was built in 1905. The furniture is a mix of new (5 year old microfiber sofa/chair/futon couch) and some vintage pieces. The bath toilet and pedestal sink are 2 years old. Most guests have called our home charming - eclectic - sweet - a good value - great walking distance to town, etc. One persons 2 out of 5 star rating is most guests 5 out of 5. Please read all reviews and email any questions you may have. Thank you and Happy New Year

We enjoyed staying at this lovely house. It is comfortable and perfect for families. We were visiting family, but were able to have them come to us for dinner. Very short walk to theaters and town. Great yard and nice view of the snow covered mountains from the snow covered deck. We are telling all of our family members to keep this place in mind for future visits.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
