Come ready for action or relaxation as the spirit moves you! Our "Mountain View" Cabin located in Laurel Lakes community at Lake Lure has it all. Rest and soak in the spectacular mountain views and enjoy our three acres of forested and open areas. This brand new (Jan. 2007) custom log home has over 2300 square feet of heated/air conditioned space with mountain views from nearly every room! It comfortably accommodates eight to ten guests with three enclosed bedrooms, a separate loft area with sleeper couch, and finished playroom basement with sleeper sofa.
Early risers will relish the stunning sunrise from the back balcony. Then, plan your activities for each day: explore our "Mountain View’s" natural forest and our cleared areas designed for archery, BB-gun practice, or paint ball. Hike around our community or bicycle along our paved roads. Or drive 15 minutes and marvel at the scenic view of breath-taking Lake Lure with its fun-filled water park/beach, boat rentals, varied restaurants, and quaint town of Chimney Rock. Without a doubt, you MUST visit majestic Chimney Rock Park and hike along the heady Sky-line Trail featured in the film Last of the Mohicans. Later, treat yourself and sign up for an evening boat cruise of idyllic Lake Lure. Or, for more active pursuits, visit nearby golf courses.
As each day unfolds, swim or fish in our own private lake in Laurel Lakes community . To have a truly memorable trip, you must tube down the Broad River. Come back and kickback with "Mountain View’s" game room with air hockey, foosball table and electronic dart board. Or play board games in the loft on a hand made checker board table with pine-hewn stools.
Another favorite activity is to relax and enjoy the afternoon sunset with rockers and barstools on the front porch for Happy Hour Views of Chimney Rock. After preparing dinner in our fully stocked kitchen (complete with spices), make your way down to the backyard fire pit area. Use the cut logs provided and gather kindling to build a safe fire. Or in cool weather, take it easy and light up the easy gas fireplace with its remote.
As you can see there are many choices! And isn't that what makes a great vacation in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains?
