Un petit manoir

Located an easy 45 minute drive from Paris in the famed artists’ colony of Barbizon, this charming 100 year old stone house is the perfect base from which to explore Fontainebleau and its environs.

The house is 2000 square feet, and was completely renovated in 2005. There are three bedrooms, each with French doors and a balcony looking out over the beautiful gardens. Two have full size beds and the third has twin bunk beds. There is one very large full bathroom and a second half bath. On the ground floor, the living room and kitchen both have French doors that open onto a rear terrace perfect for dining. The house is set in a spectacular private two-acre property with fruit orchards and two hundred year old trees.

Fontainebleau, the old summer residence of French kings, has miles of forested hiking and bike trails, centers for horseback riding, and one of the country’s best golf courses. The village of Barbizon offers galleries, a farmers market and charming local restaurants. It is an ideal place to experience a taste of the French way of life.
