The view of the ocean from our family’s three-bedroom, three-bath Captain's Walk villa is breathtaking. We have unobstructed, panoramic views from both the living room and the master suite. This is the most economical 3 bedroom oceanfront villa in Palmetto Dunes. We are able to offer an economical vacation as we have owned the villa for many years and have not made expensive and unnecessary renovations nor do we have 'designer' decorating. (When we renovated the kitchen we put in formica counters rather than granite and white appliances rather than stainless steel.)
Captain's Walk is the premier oceanfront condo in Palmetto Dunes Resort. It has more feet of beach per unit than any other condominium and every unit has a direct view of the beach and ocean. The beach was re-nourished in the winter of 2006 - 2007 leaving a wide sand beach between the dunes and the high water mark. The gradual slope of the sea floor makes this beach especially good for children. Tidal pools often form at low tide and small children love to play in the warm water.
Captain's Walk is conveniently located between the Hilton Oceanfront Resort and the Marriott Beach and Golf Resort. There are three gourmet restaurants within walking distance. Walk to the Fazio Golf Course or the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Courts. Bike on the miles of bike paths in Palmetto Dunes and Hilton Head Island. Rent a kayak at the nearby bike and canoe rental livery and explore the Eleven-Mile Lagoon. Challenge your golf skills at any of the three golf courses in Palmetto Dunes. If you bring your own kayaks you can access the Eleven-Mile Lagoon from the Captains Cove area just across the street from Captains Walk.
Our second-floor villa, with 1760 square feet of living space, features three bedrooms and three full baths. It is set up to accommodate up to seven in the bedrooms. There is a cheery living room facing the ocean with TV, DVD and stereo. A charming painting of children playing on the beach overlooks the dining area, which comfortably seats six or seven. There is a fully equipped kitchen for those times when you don't want to visit one of Hilton Head’s many outstanding restaurants.
A full sized washer and dryer are present in a laundry alcove. The master bedroom features a king sized bed and separate dressing and bath areas. There are two other bedrooms with attached bathrooms. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. A complementary roll-away bed is stored in the closet of the twin bed room. A balcony overlooking the ocean has seating for four. For those who can’t leave their laptop at home when they are on vacation, there is free DSL Internet service.
The Captain's Walk condominium complex is beautifully landscaped with lush semi-tropical plantings. There is a large oceanfront pool with a sun deck. The pool is heated from mid-October until Thanksgiving weekend and then from mid March through the end of April. There is a children’s wading pool. Restrooms are conveniently located in the pool area. There are centrally located charcoal barbeques for use by guests.
During the busy summer months there is a private security service during the daytime that monitors the parking and pool areas to assure the privacy of owners and registered guests.
Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday. The minimum rental period is one week. A 50% deposit will reserve your week in our corner of paradise. We are sorry but we don't allow pets. This is a non-smoking unit.
