Tom and Karyl were absolutely charming hosts and we loved staying with them in their wonderful B&B. We stayed 5 nights and would love to stay there again next time we visit the island. Tom was very informative and helpful directing us to the nicest beaches, and must do's with our limited time in the area. The fresh exotic fruit plates served every morning, accompanied by his famous banana pancakes, waffles, or a fresh veggie omelets, were delicious and nourishing. Breakfast every day on their beautiful lanai with the cool soft breeze overlooking the entire west coast of Molokai was a refreshing and invigorating way to start the day. We stayed in the Ka Mahina room which was clean and cosy with lots of closet space for you to unpack and hang all your clothes. We had our own private bath near our room, and our private shower was just a few steps away and was very clean as well equipped with a fresh towels every day. The grill out back was great for cooking fresh fish and veggies, and they provide a small fridge for both rooms to share. We didn't hear many feral cats in response to another review we read, but did hear a cat meowing somewhat politely one morning. There is a rooster a few blocks away that starts up around 5am and bizarrely seems to crow off and on all morning. So if you are interested in sleeping in you might want to find something in a different area. Also, that breakfast is 8:00sharp, and time is limited on vacations,we took it as a welcomed wake-up call to get us up and enjoying the day on Molokai. We recommend this B&B for people down to earth and looking for a peaceful, homey, relaxing stay on the island. Can't wait to make it back someday soon hopefully! Kim and Nick from Colorado :)

I was looking for a place on Moloka‘i that was both inexpensive and in the drier western part of the island, close to the beaches, where my partner and I could chill for a few days before heading off to Maui (we just spent 6 nights on the Big Island). This place filled the bill perfectly. Karyl was our lovely host. She showed us our room, the Na Hoku, with a private adjoining bathroom (tub and shower). No one else was staying at the time (the other bedroom is on the other side of the bathroom, but if there were guests, they would have used another bathroom). The entryway to this suite of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom can be closed off from the rest of the house, which includes a large open kitchen-living-dining room. Hawaiian music played as Karyl showed us maps and recommended places to eat and visit. We immediately went to the beach she suggested, and were lucky enough to find another beach that we shared with no one except the few giant turtles swimming in the cove. Paradise indeed! Breakfasts were sublime. Karyl made us macadamia pancakes one morning and a hearty island oatmeal the next. Both were preceded by lovely fruit plates worthy of expensive resorts, including fruits you may never have eaten, let alone heard of. Do try all of them. The chico fruit and egg fruit will blow your mind! We never felt uncomfortable for a minute. That's because Karyl is the perfect host. We had some lovely chats after breakfast, before heading out to explore the island and back to the beach. Evenings were peaceful, and Karyl recommended some local music and nature DVDs, which we watched as we lay in bed, exhausted from all the beauty this island delivers. Recommending staying here is a no-brainer. If you're allergic to cats, you may want to limit your time in the shared living-dining area, although the place was extremely clean. It also might be fun to stay here with another couple you like to travel with.

We stayed here for a week in September, 2011, celebrating our 29th anniversary. Tom and Karyl are the best host and hostess you could hope for! Their breakfasts are fabulous, from the fresh-ground coffee and beautiful fruit plates, to Tom's famous macadamia nut/banana pancakes. Their knowledge of the island is very helpful in planning your activities, and they understand and are happy to explain Hawaiian culture and customs. The bedrooms are comfy and private, and their front porch is perfect for "talking story" in the evening. We enjoyed our stay on Molokai, and we made some great new friends, especially Tom and Karyl. It took us 29 years to go to Molokai, hopefully it won't be that long before we go back!

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves on our first trip to Molokai, and much credit goes to Tom and Karyl for being so helpful, friendly and accomodating! It was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast, so we were initially a little uneasy. But after our delightful and heartfelt experience, we would highly recommend their business to our friends and family. In addition to their hospitality, breakfast was delicious! We especially enjoyed the fresh fruits and banana mac pancakes with homemade syrup! Thank you for making our trip extra special and memorable. :)

Don't miss this B&B if you are going to Moloka'i! Tom and Karyl have thought of everything, from beach towels to a refrigerator for snacks. They are helpful with suggestions for activities, have a library with books about the island, and even lent us a map. The Na Hoku room was comfortable, quiet, and beautiful. The breakfasts were fantastic, with the touches that other reviewers have described. Tom and Karyl even prepared excellent vegan meals for me. Their effort made this a wonderful trip for my husband and me.

We had a wonderful stay at this bread and breakfast! Our room was beautifully decorated and quiet. We had our own bathroom with a little island style. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise every day. Our favorites were the baked oatmeal, banana/macadamia nut pancakes, and the Molokai sweet potato, yum! Everything was delicious and prepared with care. The fruit plate was a special treat each day. Tom loves to garden and decorates the fruit plate every morning with fresh edible flowers. Our hosts were helpful, giving us inside tips and suggestions. Tom knows all the current events and Karyl has read a great deal about Hawaii and both have lots to share. We enjoyed visiting with our hosts each day. They gave us a good recommendation about Hanae Goods and Grinds - the best meal we had on the island. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this B & B.

VERY nice accommodations and gracious hosts. We had a wonderful stay at this facility. Hosts went out-of-their way to be sure we were extremely comfortable & had a good time. The food was delicious and presented in an attractive manner....A quality experience on an island that is beautiful and remote. We would highly recommend!

My husband & I stayed here January 30, & 31st, 2011. We put up with numerous feral cats outside our bedroom, fighting loadly every night. The bathroom arraingment for our room was poor. There was one bathroom fairly near by, but you had to go into the main living room to access it. It has a toilet & sink. The one with a shower, is outside by their cluttered lanai, & it has a sink, with a toilet. Not convient at all. I would not return. Not at all impressed. Their house should be tidier as well. Suzzie from Kansas City
Owner response:We were surprised to receive this review, as we have not received comments like this before. Unfortunately, someone "dropped off" a couple cats in our neighborhood. They were here for only a few days and disappeared. We do not have numerous feral cats in our neighborhood, but regret that these cats caused discomfort. We always explain the bathroom arrangement of Ka Mahina Room before a reservation is made, and the rate for this room is lower than for Na Hoku Room. We take visitor comments seriously, and are sorry that the guests did not enjoy their stay.

Immaculate and very comfortable facilities! Tom provides an amazing breakfast and the fruit plate is a work of art. I ate several fruits I had never had before. He has a green thumb and I enjoyed his lush garden. Every night I star-watched! The Milky Way is clearly visible from one end of the sky to another. Tom & Karyl are fabulous hosts and I will recommend this place to my friends and relatives.

We wanted to experience both ends of Molokai, so chose this B&B for the first 3 days of our stay. Everything the other reviewers said is 100% true! The house was immaculate, the breakfasts to die for, and Tom and Karyl are the best hosts. They provided info for everything we needed to know and have an extensive library on Hawaiian culture. Molokai is a wonderful island for relaxing and enjoying nature's beauty, with no stop lights, no malls, and very friendly people. We would recommend Tom and Karyl's B&B to everyone. They are truly gracious and caring people and made us feel welcome and totally comfortable.

My wife and I along with another couple stayed at Tom and Karyls home for three nights. We were lucky to have perfect weather and perfect hosts. The pancakes were excellent and the tropical fruit plates were a work of art. The accommodations were great for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Tom and Karyls suggestions on where to go and what not to miss were very helpful. Highly recommended if you always wanted to visit Molokai and get away from the crowds.

Tom and Karyn provided an excellent experience providing a clean , comfortable , convenient place to stay in Molokai. They changed to an early breakfast schedule allowing us to get to Halawi, all the way at the other end of the island for an early hiking tour there. Food is great. Views of the ocean from the veranda are great.

Tom and Karyl are the best! Not only did we have a fabulous stay but we felt like we went away with some new friends. The time passed too quickly for us because we had such a good time. We felt like we were in a 5 star hotel and were treated to some excellent meals. It was such a luxury to be able to eat breakfast on the lanai looking at the view and sampling some of the best food we've ever had. You will not go away hungry! Tom and Karyl were excellent sources of information and offered some very helpful tips. Tom and Karyl made us feel like family and we will definitely stay here the next time we visit Molokai! Mahalo Nui Loa!

Even though the wind was blowing hard our whole time in Molokai, Tom and Karyl provided a peaceful and calm place to stay. The breakfasts were a huge highlight during our 3 days. Artfully arranged tropical fruits and yummy morning fare were such a treat. The king bed was comfy, and the lanai was great to hang out on one whole afternoon for reading and leisure. Great information and suggestions for sight-seeing were extremely helpful! Expect to leave new friends behind! Highest recommendations!

Clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Tom and his wife Karyl were wonderful hosts, full of suggestions and information. The breakfasts were excellent. The location is on the west side of the island, but the island is small. We never felt too far from anywhere. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in January 2010. Immediately we felt right at home. Tom and Karyl's hospitality is so genuine. The purpose of our visit to Molokai was the hike down to Kalaupapa, but once there we realized there were so many other things to see and do. The breakfasts were phenomenal and we especially appreciated the one the morning of our hike!!! (must also say the extra evening treats, hot (homemade) brownies with ice cream and cappuccino were to die for!) Our only regret was we didn't have more time. Tom and Karyl are the best and we would certainly stay here again. Our best to them.

We spent 2 nights at this wonderful bed & breakfast in early December 2009. We wanted to spend a day checking out Molokai to see if we would like to come again for an extended visit. Tom and Karyl are absolutely wonderful hosts, their home and guest accommodations are superb. The home and guest facilities are extremely clean and well appointed. And, as others have mentioned, breakfast is absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this guest house. One note when visiting Molokai for a day or so, there are not many restaurants and everything closes early so be prepared to purchase lunch and dinner picnic supplies from "town" if you are going to be exploring both ends of the island.

We stayed with Karyl & Tom for three nights in January 2010. Their B & B is so clean, comfortable and welcoming that we will recommend it to all of our friends. The breakfasts were fabulous, and the information provided by Karyl & Tom was extremely helpful. Molokai is so unique compared to the other islands that we were especially happy that we made the trip there and that we stayed at Molokai Komohana! Lois & Dennis Ryan

This is a great B&B! The house is beautiful, the hosts are terrific and the breakfasts (the Lilikoi butter is a must try!) fabulous. Tom and Karyl share their knowledge of the island and love to talk story. We will be back since we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Tom & Karyl in May, '08!

This was our first experience staying in a B&B (February 2008)and we had an amazing visit in Tom & Karyl's beautiful home. Their home is immaculate and we were made to feel very welcome by both Tom & Karyl. Karyl was extremely helpful in the planning stages of our trip to Molokai and this helpful information continued once we arrived on the island. We agree with the other comments that the breakfasts were delicious! I can still taste the liliko'i butter!! I believe this excellent B&B experience will be hard to match! I will definitely recommend this B&B to family and friends. Thanks Karyl & Tom! Hope to visit again soon.

Their home is very pretty (just like on the website) and the location is great! As others have said, the breakfasts are wonderful and everything that you need is available. Tom and Karyl's BB is WONDERFUL!!--Their rooms, their home, their view, their suggestions, their warmth, and mostly their breakfast, were all the best ever. The room was extremely comfortable and oh so clean!!!. Thank you again for your hospitality--our two days on Molokai were spectacular due in part to our stay at your home. We vacation on Maui but wanted to see what "real" hawaii must have looked like many years ago. Molokai is special and so is Tom and Karyl's home. Thanks for opening up your space for us. Molokai Komohana is a beautiful bed and breakfast on the sunny West Side of Molokai. From the moment we stepped out of our car and up the stairs leading to this amazing Bed and Breakfast, we knew that this would be a perfect stay on Molokai! The warm hosts, Tom and Karl, greeted us with aloha, upon entering their wonderful home. Immediately we felt welcome as we were led to view the radiant sunrise set on the expansive Lanai with freshly prepared ice-tea from our hosts. The bed and breakfast is immaculate and the Hawaiian decor was perfectly chosen piece by piece. We stayed in the "Ka Mahina Room" and had such restful nights of sleep. The bedding is extremely comfortable and the room was set up perfectly. Aside from the home being so beautiful and welcoming, the hosts couldn't have been nicer. They had all the information we needed to plan our days on Molokai. They also had an extensive selection of Hawaiian music, books and cultural information. They also shared a wealth of information about the islands with us as we discussed our zeal and love for Hawaii. The breakfasts were amazing! We had delicious taro pancakes, fruits, macadamia and assorted nuts, coffee, teas, breads and omelets. We were well fueled for our cultural hikes! The location was also perfect! If you are looking for great accommodations on Molokai that embrace the true meaning of Aloha, then you should book your stay at Molokai Komohana. Mahalo Karyl and Tom for a wonderful stay!

What a pleasant stay! Go there. Karyl and Tom are the most pleasant and caring hosts you can imagine in a B&B, their house is perfectly well kept, and we have been taken care of as if we were at home. In addition to their friendliness, they always had a good hint on what to do and where to go on Molokai. The house is easy to reach, but still located in a quiet area with great view on the hills and the sea. If you want to stay on Molokai, stay here.
