Everything was superb. The location is great in terms of neighborhood, access to public transportation, and even walking to downtown. We had a car rental, and parking was always accessible within a few blocks, and often within 1 block. The apartment was very efficient in use of space. The unit was SUPER clean and quite well furnished. We did some cooking and eating in which worked very well. The owners are lovely and welcoming and were responsive to all our questions. This was the best place we have stayed in San Francisco. Perfect for a couple. We will definitely return, and recommend this apartment highly.

My husband and I and our 11month old son stayed in this delightful apartment for 8 nights. We could not rate this apartment highly enough-it is indeed spacious, warmly decorated and was extremely comfortable for our stay.It was quiet, had everything you needed and the bed is super comfortable. Peggy even loaned us a cot and highchair which meant we didn't have to lug ours which was great. My husband was attending a conference at the Moscone Centre downtown and it was very convenient for him to catch the MUNI each day from almost outside the apartment. Peggy had very kindly given us 2 MUNI passes for the week which was a fantastic bonus along with a lovely bowl or fruit, bottle of wine and delicious chocolates!! The neighbourhood is lovely and there are some great cafes/restaurants close by especially Little Star Pizza and Green Chile Kitchen both of which were recommended by Peggy. We would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again if we return to San Francisco.

Thiw was a perfect spot for my recent visti to SF. Easy to find, near busses, etc. The studio is very cute, functional and nicely decorated. Owners were accomodating and responsive. I plan to rent this studio on my next trip.

Not only is this property in an excellent location close to restaurants and shops but the property was very clean and well maintained. Best of all, the owner was most helpful when we needed her. One time we left our keys inside and she left her dinner party to come over and open the property for us. She was most gracious and hospitable. Our privacy was respected at all times. The only negative is parking but it is that way in all of San Francisco. It's best not to have a car. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. Thank you, Peggy!

My husband and I stayed at the studio for a week over Thanksgiving (2011) and were so glad that we chose this apartment. A little nervous about renting anything sight unseen. We arrived after midnight and our unit was so welcoming -- lights on and snack on the table. Peggy is so thoughtful!. The location couldn't be better - good walking or bus lines within 1/2 block. We had a car, but didn't find parking to be a great problem -- ended up mostly walking to places. Apt. is right around the corner from Alamo Square. Apt. was very comfortable and efficient -- queen bed was a 10! Wifi available. We will stay there again and highly recommend it for 2 people.

A Delightful Base for Exploring San Francisco

I spent four very comfortable nights at this lovely studio in October. As others have said, it is well located, nicely appointed, and wonderfully quiet. The immediate neighborhood has beautiful Victorians to admire and many restaurant options within walking distance or a short bus ride. I especially enjoyed the Hayes Street Grill (in the nearby Hayes Valley neighborhood) for marvelous seafood; you can dine at the bar if you're unable to get a reservation. When I was too tired to go out to eat one night, I ordered a delicious deep-dish pizza from Little Star Pizza (about a block away) and enjoyed it in the apartment with a bottle of red wine that Peggy had generously provided. Transportation via the MUNI is very easy and quite affordable if you purchase a 3-day (or longer) pass, which will cover all bus and cable car rides in the city. If you're taking the BART from either the San Francisco or Oakland airports, I recommend that you arrive at the Montgomery BART station in San Francisco, as it is one of the cleanest and safest BART stations in the city. It might add 4-5 minutes to your travel time, but it is well worth it (as compared with the Civic Center BART station, which deposits you in the Tenderloin). From the Montgomery BART station, just go upstairs to Market Street and you'll find the #5 bus line right there (take the #5 to McAllister & Pierce and walk one block to the apartment). You can purchase your MUNI (or CLIPPER) pass from a vending machine in the Montgomery BART station, which may be more convenient than looking for a vendor in the city. You also purchase passes at the San Francisco Airport (but not at the Oakland Airport). Enjoy your time in San Francisco -- rain or shine, it is a city with a great many charms, and this very nice studio will have you well positioned to enjoy them all.

Really lovely place, ideally situated, peaceful location but easy access to downtown etc. Welcome pack included places to eat shop etc, which as we were only there for a short stay made good use of our time, and managed to fit in all the things we had hoped to do. Would definately recomend this to anyone visting San Fransisco.

What a wonderful place!!!The studio apartment offers a calm,tranquil retreat in a most beautiful section of the city. It is lovely and very well equipped, quiet and convenient giving guests a truly delightful experience of San Francisco The electric fireplace gives great warmth during the cool evenings,the kitchen had everything we needed, and the computer was a real bonus.Loved every detail of the apartment and felt joy as we opened the door.We enjoyed the Sunday Farmer's Market, all the restaurants and stores just blocks away, but the walks in Alamo Square Park was the treat.It is near bus stops and taxi service is prompt to get you to any destination. Oz and Peggy are wonderful hosts and offer a lovely, special retreat in this city by the bay.. Can't wait to return.

A charming place in San Francisco

We would like to thank Peggy for welcoming us so nicely. We did appreciate her availibility, her discretion, her thoughtfulness: there was a delicious bottle of wine, from Napa, chocolate, and a 7 day transport card for both of us. The studio is fully equipped, roomy ,very quiet and its location is ideal, very close to Alamo Square, which is lovely. Bus stops are near this Victorian house, so it is vey easy to go Castro, which is very friendly , with nice shops and bars( Safeway, a big supermaket is not very far from the studio)to go downtown The bed was extremely comfortable, the ethanol fireplace was convenient, don't forget that evenings might be chilly in San Francisco, even if the weather was incredible for 10 days, not a cloud and sun every day! In the studio, there was a computer , so we could check our mails,organize our visits and book our seats to go back home. After a very long and tiring day trip , it was great to relax in the bathtub.What we particularly liked too is that we were completely independent, but of course if we needed some help, Peggy was there to give us some advice. So, we really enjoyed our stay in San Francisco, which is a great city to visit, and we liked staying in this cosy studio. Thanks to Peggy's kindness, and all that we have mentioned, it was a wonderful trip.

I am one of those VRBO users who spends hours finding the perfect spot. Peggy's place was exactly what we were looking for and more. The location could not have been better - a lovely walk to Golden Gate, right on the MUNI line for an easy trip downtown or to the Farmer's Market, and a perfectly central location for walking - one of the best SF pastimes. The studio was adorable, charming, clean, lovely bathroom with spa tub, and we were greeted with a bottle of wine and snacks - well appreciated after a long drive. Peggy's thoughtful tips on the area restaurants did not disappoint! We ate VERY well. We will be back, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Great neighborhood with beautiful Victorian mansions everywhere. Walking distance to the famous "Painted Ladies". Walking distance to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores. No need for a car - can get from airport on BART + Muni 5. Easy to use transit planner gets you everywhere you need to go - Google "Muni transit planner" to find the link. The 3 day or 7 day Muni pass can be bought in the baggage claim area of SFO airport and gives you unlimited access to bus, streetcar, and cable cars so it's a great deal. Owners are very thoughtful leaving lots of Ghiradelli chocolates and a bottle of California wine for you to have on your stay. So nice to get out of the tourist areas and come "home" for dinner out each night. The local Farmers Market on Sun mornings is a great place to pick up items to cook for breakfast in the studio. Absolutely no complaints about this place and would stay here again in a heartbeart.

We enjoyed so much staying here for four nights. The Studio was very clean and really confortable, and the area was great. We also had car and parking in the area was not that hard... even last nite we parked in the front door!! :) Highly recommended!! El estudio es muy amplio, limpio y cómodo. Peggy es una gran anfitriona y cuida mucho cada detalle. Si buscas un lugar mientras visitas SF este es el sitio perfecto, nada que ver con un hotel... :)

I was lucky enough to find this studio for Oracle Open World. It was quite, spacious and well maintained. The entire studio was spotless and so comfortable...that I forgot I was not at home sometimes. The bathroom was surprisingly big for a studio and the entire apartment was well furnished and decorated just like the pictures show.. It was about a $7.00 cab ride to Moscone Center. I would definetly stay here again.

Nous nous sommes félicités bien des fois pour avoir trouvé ce petit studio. L'appartement est confortable, propre, chaleureux et dispose de tout le nécessaire pour passer un beau séjour. Pas beaucoup de lumière en plein jour, mais silence garanti pour la nuit. Idéal pour ceux qui veulent la tranquillité en même temps que l'accessibilité aux principales attractions de la ville. En plus, c'est en plein coeur d'un quartier de magnifiques maisons victoriennes et d'Alamo square où on peut aller prendre une marche le matin. Pas loin, on peut louer une voiture. Très bien situé, donc. Nous pouvions nous rendre à pied à plusieurs endroits (Mission, Haight-Ashbury, Civic Center) ; les restos du coin (Nopa, entre autres) sont à ne pas manquer. Les proprios, Peggy et Oz, sont des gens vraiment agréables à rencontrer.

Wonderful Studio in a fantastic City

Peggy and Oz have put alot of love and effort into decorating and maintaining this Studio. My boyfriend and I spent 4 wonderful nights in San Francisco and could not have stayed in a better place. We mostly caught cabs around or walked... everything was only moments away. Golden Gate Park was beautiful and if you are looking for a lovely and at times energetic walk then I would highly recommend it. Union Sqaure and Fishermans Wharf were also a short cab ride away and well worth checking out. The studio had everything you could want or need, it was extremely clean and the outdoor courtyard was beautiful and sunny in the mornings. Peggy and Oz are only a phone call away and were more then helpful, they provided a number of brochures which helped in organising our day. The bed was super comfortable which made it a little hard to get out of in the morning. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to friends and family.

I recently spent a week in San Francisco and stayed in this comfortable studio apartment near Alamo Square. It was well appointed and comfortable, the location was ideal and the neighborhood delightful with of lovely Victorian homes surrounding Alamo Square. Since I had a car, I was a bit worried about finding on-street parking, but I never had to walk more than a block, or search for more than a few minutes. If I didn't want to use my car, a major bus line stopped at the corner. All in all a wonderful stay. Thank you Peggy!

We really enjoyed our long weekend in this studio - very clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The neighborhood is lovely and convenient to grocery, restaurants, and public transportation. Lots of interesting things to see within walking distance. Easy trip from SFO (BART to Civic Center, then #5 bus). Owners are very accessible and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the studio in March and we had the most pleasant time. The studio was clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. As previous guests have mentioned, the 5 Muni bus stop is just a few steps away so we got to Union Square in only 15 minutes. The studio is close to Japantown, as well as to many cafes. I know that many travelers look for accommodation near Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf, but believe me that the studio's location is just perfect. It gives you a wonderful local feeling, privacy, and if you are keen on walking, you can walk to most places (we walked to Union Square twice and to Golden Gate Park and it wasn't so far). Before our arrival, Peggy emailed me the instructions to enter the studio and everything worked exactly as she had informed me. Once we were in, we found a folder with all the information about the studio and also useful tips for our stay. We didn't need to contact her or her husband because everything worked out well but we knew they were just a phone call away if we needed anything. We highly recommend the Alamo Square Studio and we will definitely stay there again when we return to San Francisco.

Peggy and Oz are gracious hosts. They are there for every need. The location is perfect. A block and a half to Divisidero where there are numerous shops and restaurants where you will not see any tourists. A half a block to the #5 bus which takes you downtown. The unit is spacious and the bed is sooo comfortable. If you like to cook you can find everything that you need in the kitchen. Highly recommend!!!! .

We stayed in the Alamo Square Studio and were very pleased. The layout feels spacious, the bed is so comfortable (we have a tempurpedic mattress at home), and we were especially pleased with how clean everything in the studio was. The private entrance is nice and we felt tucked in and very cozy, as if we were in our own little private sanctuary. We will be staying here again, and as a matter of fact have already booked a return trip with Peggy!

We stayed in this apartment in October and absolutely loved it. It is spacious and very clean and comfortable. It is well located and it is easy to use public transport to travel anywhere in the city - use the internet to look up the buses (Google maps). The owners are lovely, very friendly and helpful.
