Denver house description

~ Perfectly Charming and eclectic! Unique home with a super location to boot. Easy access to downtown Denver, the State Capital, 16th Street Mall, Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field, Coors Field and Cherry Creek Mall.

Located in Capital Hill (originally Brown's Bluff) of Denver, this hip neighborhood is electric and colorful. This is one of the most vibrant and convenient locations in all of Denver. With a walk score dot com of 91% this home is close to downtown but not too close. Whole Foods market is only 6 blocks, King Scoopers is 8 blocks away.......... Located on historic Pearl St. the home is modern and fun.

Just a short walk (5 blocks) to the State Capital building and 16th Street Mall (6 blocks) puts you in the middle of downtown. ….less than 3 miles from any of Denver's sporting venues.....Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field and Coors Field. The free 16th Street Mall shuttle continues through downtown Denver to Union Station. Everything Denver has to offer is within a 3 mile radius of the home..(not everything but pretty close).

Beautiful light shines through all the windows in this home as it faces an historic mansion and courtyard....a very open feel for a downtown neighborhood. With a spacious second floor deck, backyard patio and pergola there is space to enjoy outside also. Leave the blinds open and enjoy the beauty of the neighborhood....no apartment building blocking your view. The street is filled with an urban mix of mansions, condos and apartment complexes. Very eclectic which is what I love about it. You won't be disappointed with this home for your visit to Denver.

The home has an open floor plan (approximately 2500 sf) that flows with warmth and homeyness. The last remodel kept the original architecture, but added some modern conveniences. There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor (q,q and a double). The 'master' bedroom is located at the front of the house with views of historic Pearl St. The sitting area in the turret is perfect for taking in a good book. Bedroom 3 (on the opposite end of the home) has the antique iron double bed and a nice private deck with views of the mountains and local neighborhood.

The lower level 'master” bedroom has a 'Tempur-pedic' queen size bed and private bathroom. Please note this home is 112 years old, and the stairs to the living space in the basement were built a bit steep.....but the norm for the period...early 1900's. There is also an exit door in the basement to the back yard.

This home has 2.5 bathrooms.....1 bathroom on the upper level, 1 bathroom on the lower level and a 1/2 bath on the main level......a very convenient amenity for a classic Victorian.

The living area is completely comfortable with period gas burning coal basket, LCD flat screen TV, DVR, stereo(with iPod connection) and many books and magazines for reading pleasure.

The front porch has a 2 person bistro table and chairs for street viewing, morning coffee or afternoon beverage.

All linens, towels, toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The gourmet kitchen is open and spacious with plenty of room to relax, entertain or just enjoying your favorite meal. The spacious and bright kitchen has been outfitted with top of the line appliances, as well as formal dining room adjacent to the kitchen.

This century old row house has been furnished with everything needed to maximize relaxation and comfort. The airy flow of the home's layout adds to the charm of your stay. The original Victorian details have been maintained with beautiful hardwood floors. The old world craftsmanship and period details are a stand out.

The home has, four (4) Flat Screen TV’s(living area TV with HD) with Cable, WiFi............. -------------------

Everything has been thought of to make your stay one of ease, comfort and warmth. A real home away from home. Please see the some of my previous guest’s comments on this site.

We look forward to you staying in our home...

hey ed—

just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had at your place in denver. we felt cozy with the fire when we were getting 12-14 inches of snow – slogged through the deep powder to whole foods. the pizza by the slice place on 13th was excellent! and on Monday, when no one wanted to drive because of the ice and slush, I could walk to metro state to give my lecture. perfect.

thanks again for creating a great space to relax and work in Denver!

Don’t miss staying at this beautiful, early twentieth century Victorian house located in the heart of the city of Denver. With its beautiful moldings around the doors, windows and ceiling and original hardwood floors, this Denver vacation rental was definitely one of the most unique houses this little bear has visited. Papa Bear said it was one of his favorite properties that he’s ever stayed at.

We loved the warm and inviting paint colors, exposed brick, beautiful light fixtures and antique decor. We felt at home right away. The beautiful, fully stocked, updated kitchen made it easy to cook all our meals. We also loved the unique fireplaces all over the house and all the conveniences of home.

This vacation home is within walking distance to the 16th Street Mall, and with so much to do downtown, you will never have to go very far to have a great time. Enjoy great restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s and Wolfgang Puck, just to name a few.

So come and experience all Denver has to offer. I know you won’t be disappointed!

We were extremely pleased with the house, the location, and our overall experience. We arrived for a girl's weekend getaway and began by walking to superb locally owned restaurants and cuisine. We were able to walk to Brown Palace Hotel for time at the spa then strolled along the streets at the 16th Street Mall. An easy drive to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater and brunch at Jelly's just around the corner also made the weekend unforgettable! The decor and period details of the house were impeccable and impressed even the toughest of critics! The owner was easy to work with and followed through on every detail. I would highly recommend this house without reservation to any group with the exception of someone with a significant physical handicap (houses built in 1899 have steep stairs and narrow halls). Thank you for a fantastic experience. I hope to visit again in the future!

We were in Denver for my daughter's college graduation. The house was perfect for us to gather as a family instead of all being in hotel rooms. The location was close to downtown for those that wanted to take the rental bikes at the corner of Colfax and Pearl and explore the downtown. The house was within walking distance of places to get breakfast and lunch. There were good grocery stores close by to purchase food. We rented a large SUV and even though the garage was small, we were able to back into it. I was glad we didn't have to find street parking, although my daughter never had trouble finding parking while she was visiting. It was warm while we were in Denver and the air conditioning kept us nice and cool. Would rent again for a family event.

We spent a summer week in this Denver house and were most comfortable. The house is very well stocked and the location excellent. We had several breakfasts at Jelly, just 1/2 block away. Because we were visiting family, we did rent a car. The garage is very small but we were able to maneuver an SUV into it. However, next time we might rent a compact! The owners are very easy to work with and immediately accessible for questions. We would certainly rent this property again and highly recommend it.

There were six of us that stayed here for a family gathering and it was perfect. We had a car and also did a lot of walking. The restaurant on the corner, Jelly, served wonderful breakfasts (gluten free homemade donuts and pancakes). It's air conditioned so we were very comfortable. Everything was in easy driving distance. The pictures were very accurate and I would definitely recommend this old house to anyone staying in Denver with a group. There are four lovely bedrooms and three baths. Ed has lots of books and lots of gadgets to entertain. Everything was clean and very well appointed.

We were in town for 1 week for a scientific meeting, and we found that this place is really nice and comfortable! Four of us stayed there, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Short drive to downtown, or you can walk, and a great neighborhood. Ed has the place really set up nice, with everything you need in the kitchen and the whole house. The back yard/patio area was a great feature for hanging out and also BBQing that we used for a dinner with our friends. We stayed very well and We hope to visit Denver in the future again. We also hope that you can visit Rome as soon as possible! Thanks so much

We visited for a long weekend (thur-mon) in late March. The owner, Ed was beyond accommodating. This home is in a lovely neighborhood and so well appointed with a combination of antiques and modern fixtures/ decorated that no small item has been overlooked. From the kitchen and bathrooms to cords for recharging electronic devices each detail has been provided. The patio area is lovely. Everything you need is nearby- restaurants, bookstores, concert venues, groceries, etc. Off street parking is a plus! Nearby to downtown and all the in-town amenities Denver proper has to offer- sports venues, museums, etc. Heartily recommend you visit this lovely in-town historic home!

The house was very accurately described in the listing--very convenient, very walkable location, terrific period architectural detail combined with tasteful modern updates, tremendous character, none of the bland "rental" quality that afflicts some properties. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and grill, as well as the cozy fireplace in the living room, comfy beds, and well-equipped kitchen. In addition, the owner was very responsive and truly wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. This was a fine spot for our family's Thanksgiving gathering, and I'm sure it would be delightful for a summer visit as well.

My company (national retail) were in Denver on business scouting locations for a new store location. We decided to try a home instead of the same old hotel route...wow was I happy we did. This home has everything we needed and more. Great location to boot! Easy walking distance to Whole Foods, great coffee shops and neighborhood cafe's. I would recommend this house to my family and friends in a heartbeat. We were in town for 3 weeks over Christmas with West Side Story, and this place is GREAT ! Four of us stayed there , and there was plenty of room for everyone. Short drive to downtown, or you can walk, and a great neighborhood. Ed has the place really set up nice, with everything you need in the kitchen and the whole house. The back yard/patio area was a great feature for hanging out and also BBQing . I can not say enough about this place, other than if you are in Denver for any length of time, this is the place !

My family traveled to Denver for a wedding in Feb. 2011. This home was a perfect solution for lodging. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door. There was plenty of room for all 6 adults. We cooked in the beautiful kitchen, played cards at the large dining room table, used the office for emails, the back patio for reading in the sun, and there was sufficient privacy with all the bedrooms and two baths. We could walk to many of the downtown places, but it was easy to drive from the house too. The garage was convenient because street parking is rather busy. We all agreed it would be a place we would return to. First time to Denver and we fell in love with it. Thanks Ed!
