Denver house description

~ Perfectly Charming and eclectic! Unique home with a super location to boot. Easy access to downtown Denver, the State Capital, 16th Street Mall, Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field, Coors Field and Cherry Creek Mall.


Located in Capital Hill (originally Brown's Bluff) of Denver, this hip neighborhood is electric and colorful. This is one of the most vibrant and convenient locations in all of Denver. With a walk score dot com of 91% this home is close to downtown but not too close. Whole Foods market is only 6 blocks, King Scoopers is 8 blocks away.......... Located on historic Pearl St. the home is modern and fun.

Just a short walk (5 blocks) to the State Capital building and 16th Street Mall (6 blocks) puts you in the middle of downtown. ….less than 3 miles from any of Denver's sporting venues.....Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field and Coors Field. The free 16th Street Mall shuttle continues through downtown Denver to Union Station. Everything Denver has to offer is within a 3 mile radius of the home..(not everything but pretty close).

Beautiful light shines through all the windows in this home as it faces an historic mansion and courtyard....a very open feel for a downtown neighborhood. With a spacious second floor deck, backyard patio and pergola there is space to enjoy outside also. Leave the blinds open and enjoy the beauty of the neighborhood....no apartment building blocking your view. The street is filled with an urban mix of mansions, condos and apartment complexes. Very eclectic which is what I love about it. You won't be disappointed with this home for your visit to Denver.

The home has an open floor plan (approximately 2500 sf) that flows with warmth and homeyness. The last remodel kept the original architecture, but added some modern conveniences. There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor (q,q and a double). The 'master' bedroom is located at the front of the house with views of historic Pearl St. The sitting area in the turret is perfect for taking in a good book. Bedroom 3 (on the opposite end of the home) has the antique iron double bed and a nice private deck with views of the mountains and local neighborhood.

The lower level 'master” bedroom has a 'Tempur-pedic' queen size bed and private bathroom. Please note this home is 112 years old, and the stairs to the living space in the basement were built a bit steep.....but the norm for the period...early 1900's. There is also an exit door in the basement to the back yard.

This home has 2.5 bathrooms.....1 bathroom on the upper level, 1 bathroom on the lower level and a 1/2 bath on the main level......a very convenient amenity for a classic Victorian.

The living area is completely comfortable with period gas burning coal basket, LCD flat screen TV, DVR, stereo(with iPod connection) and many books and magazines for reading pleasure.

The front porch has a 2 person bistro table and chairs for street viewing, morning coffee or afternoon beverage.

All linens, towels, toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The gourmet kitchen is open and spacious with plenty of room to relax, entertain or just enjoying your favorite meal. The spacious and bright kitchen has been outfitted with top of the line appliances, as well as formal dining room adjacent to the kitchen.

This century old row house has been furnished with everything needed to maximize relaxation and comfort. The airy flow of the home's layout adds to the charm of your stay. The original Victorian details have been maintained with beautiful hardwood floors. The old world craftsmanship and period details are a stand out.

The home has, four (4) Flat Screen TV’s(living area TV with HD) with Cable, WiFi............. -------------------

Everything has been thought of to make your stay one of ease, comfort and warmth. A real home away from home. Please see the some of my previous guest’s comments on this site.

hey ed—

just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had at your place in denver. we felt cozy with the fire when we were getting 12-14 inches of snow – slogged through the deep powder to whole foods. the pizza by the slice place on 13th was excellent! and on Monday, when no one wanted to drive because of the ice and slush, I could walk to metro state to give my lecture. perfect.

              Relaxing in this elegant urban home 01/16/2008

              Don’t miss staying at this beautiful, early twentieth century Victorian house located in the heart of the city of Denver. With its beautiful moldings around the doors, windows and ceiling and original hardwood floors, this Denver vacation rental was definitely one of the most unique houses this little bear has visited. Papa Bear said it was one of his favorite properties that he’s ever stayed at.

              We loved the warm and inviting paint colors, exposed brick, beautiful light fixtures and antique decor. We felt at home right away. The beautiful, fully stocked, updated kitchen made it easy to cook all our meals. We also loved the unique fireplaces all over the house and all the conveniences of home.

              This vacation home is within walking distance to the 16th Street Mall, and with so much to do downtown, you will never have to go very far to have a great time. Enjoy great restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s and Wolfgang Puck, just to name a few.

              So come and experience all Denver has to offer. I know you won’t be disappointed!
