Located in Capital Hill (originally Brown's Bluff) of Denver, this hip neighborhood is eclectic and colorful. This is one of the most vibrant and convenient locations in all of Denver. With a walkscore(dot)com of 89% the home is close to downtown but not too close. Whole Foods market is only 6 blocks away.......... Located on historic Pearl St. the home is modern and uniquely decorated.

Just a short walk (5 blocks) to the Capital building and 16th Street Mall (6 blocks) puts you in the middle of downtown. ….less than 3 miles from any of Denver's sporting venues. The free 16th Street Mall shuttle continues through downtown Denver to Union Station. Everything Denver has to offer is within a 3 mile radius of the home..(not everything but pretty close).

The home has an open floor plan (approximately 2000 sf) that flows with warmth. The remodel kept the original architecture, but added some modern conveniences. There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor (q,q and a double). The "master" bedroom is located at the front of the house with views of historic Pearl St. The sitting area in the turret is perfect for taking in a good book. Bedroom 3 (on the opposite end of the home) has the antique iron double bed and a nice private deck with views of the mountains and local neighborhood. The lower level "master” bedroom has a "Tempur-pedic" queen size bed and is Colorado themed. Please note this home is 110 years old, and the stairs to the basement are built a bit steep. There is also an exit door in the basement to the back yard.

All linens, towels, tp and paper towels are provided. The gourmet kitchen is open and spacious with plenty of room to relax and entertain or just enjoying your favorite meal. The spacious and bright kitchen has been outfitted with top of the line appliances, as well as formal dining room adjacent to the kitchen.

The home has been furnished with everything needed to maximize relaxation and comfort. The airy flow of the home's layout adds to the charm of your stay. The original Victorian details have been maintained with beautiful hardwood floors. The old world craftsmanship and period details are a stand out.

The home has, four (4) Flat Screen TV’s(living area TV with HD) with Cable, Wireless Internet access throughout the house, there is even a home office complete with a Gateway media center computer system and printer--------------------

Relaxing in this elegant urban home

VRBO Bear stayed here - 01/16/2008 Don’t miss staying at this beautiful, early twentieth century Victorian house located in the heart of the city of Denver. With its beautiful moldings around the doors, windows and ceiling and original hardwood floors, this Denver vacation rental was definitely one of the most unique houses this little bear has visited. Papa Bear said it was one of his favorite properties that he’s ever stayed at.

We loved the warm and inviting paint colors, exposed brick, beautiful light fixtures and antique decor. We felt at home right away. The beautiful, fully stocked, updated kitchen made it easy to cook all our meals. We also loved the unique fireplaces all over the house and all the conveniences of home.

This vacation home is within walking distance to the 16th Street Mall, and with so much to do downtown, you will never have to go very far to have a great time. Enjoy great restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s and Wolfgang Puck, just to name a few.

  • This is a Five Star Home, June 9, 2009 By Peggy Finley (West Dundee, IL USA) I recommend this house to anyone who wants to feel warm, safe and comfortable amid style and good taste! This home is centrally located and was the perfect hub for our scattered family to come together in celebration of my daughter's many accomplishments. We grocery shopped blocks away at the new Whole Foods, enjoyed long morning coffee chats in the beautifully landscaped back yard, stayed up late at night reminiscing around the oh so beautiful (and compfortable)dining set, and slept peacefully in the very comfortable beds. The kitchen had everything we needed from tupperware to skillets, to fun dishes. Bathrooms are well equipped with an abundance of fluffy white towels, and there are many flat screen TV's throughout the house. Nothing lacked other than my ability to figure out the coffee pot, but not to worry, the French Press coffee pot (no electronic savvy necessary) was right there at hand. Definitely a 5 Star Home

  • As an owner of 6 vacation rentals myself I would like to say "Bravo" to Ed for his beautiful home on Pearl Street! From the welcoming light spilling out the windows when we pulled up to the warm cozy bedding, no detail has been left out of this home! Comfy, homey, downright livable!! We come to Dever two or three times a year and this will always be my home of choice when we do! You can't stay in a generic hotel for the price and you have 10 times the amount of space plus a rockin kitchen! But who cooks when you are so close to all of the amazing downtown restaurants! Loved having my own coffee and breakfast though in the bright cheery kitchen. Ed checked on us during our stay and after, customer service at it's finest! You are definately doing it right!   • I also wanted to apologize about the level of recycling we had and the fact we didn't strip the beds and collect all the towels... I normally would have tried to leave the place in nearly the condition we found it but there was just no way that was going to happen on Wed morning. Other than that, I put the keys back in the lock box and I think all else is good? Let me know if there's anything else... thanks once again, your place was absolutely perfect! ______________________________________________________________________ DEMOCRATIC PARTY PARTY AT THE SHERATON DENVER HOTEL -- Gloria Steinem, perhaps the world's most famous feminist, has been in Colorado for 10 days with a group of female activists stumping for Democratic candidates and issues. "I'm with a small group of women from various parts of the women's movement," Steinem said. "I'm from New York and because our states were safe states, we were trying to figure out where we could be the most helpful especially because Colorado had more ballot measures than any other, and they were more confusingly worded." Steinem, 74, and her pal posse have been holding meetings and rallies in various shopping centers, libraries and auditoriums. Her Smith college roommate Nancy Gary hosted a large gathering in her home. "We especially invited uncommitted, mostly women voters and Republicans who felt alienated from the party because of its extremism," Steinem said. "Women who have kids and two jobs and don't have necessarily time to research the issues." Her group held 28 events in 10 days (you can see locations at gloriaincolorado2008. com). "Colorado was a swing state, had a very important Senate race, and Betsy Markey's race was also very important, plus the 14 ballot measures and the very very confusing wording." The group of Steinem's activists rented a home and stayed together on Pearl Street in Denver. Early Wednesday morning, Steinem will do television interviews including a segment from Colorado that will appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

  • We rented this awesome house for relatives to stay in the week leading up to and the week following our Denver wedding. The relatives all came from England and were very happy indeed with the house, a home away from home was used to describe the property on more than one occasion. The house itself is incredibly well-maintained, furnished well and the attention to detail of the owner is immediately obvious from the minute you step foot into the property. I am so happy that we chose this house to host all our guests as this was one less thing to worry about in the already stressful lead up to our wedding. Knowing that they were happy and comfortable was very important to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this house, the owner was very straightforward, upfront and pleasant to deal with in all our interactions. Our guests stayed at the house for 2 weeks at the beginning of June.
