"Steamboat Retreat" is the perfect place to curl up with a cup of cocoa in front of the fire after a full day of enjoying Steamboat's legendary champagne powder in winter, or hiking in summer!
Awaken to the smell of freshly brewed coffee; just set the timer the night before and let the magic begin. Wake up slowly under the fluffy comforter, get up, check the snow report, and cook yourself a leisurely breakfast in our very well appointed stainless/granite kitchen. (I like to cook and have equipped the kitchen accordingly!) After a cup of coffee and scrambled eggs, slip into your ski/snowboard clothes - your boots are warm from sitting on the fireplace hearth - and grab your equipment from the heated garage, and then walk across the street (or take the free on-call shuttle) to the gondola and quick access to CHAMPAGNE POWDER!!
You may come back for lunch and a nap, or eat at any of the great restaurants on the mountain or at the base - don't miss the pho at Thunderhead!
At the end of the day, ski almost to your vacation condo, take the short walk back across the street (or take the free shuttle), shed your ski/snowboard gear, pour yourself some water or other beverage, and pop out the door to the hot tub or heated pool - right next to the condo! You may have chili simmering in the crockpot, ready for you to enjoy a hearty dinner in your cozy pajamas after a relaxing soak in the hot tub, or you may choose to take the free shuttle to any of the great restaurants on the mountain or downtown. We are happy to recommend our favorites for you.
Features of our vacation home:
This exclusive 1232 sq ft two bedroom, three bath condominium at the Phoenix features stainless appliances, granite countertops, slate flooring, and rustic Mexican furniture. Large master has brand new queen bed, private bath, and granite-topped vanity, plus a patio with easy access to the heated pool/hot tubs a few yards away. Second bedroom has twin beds and private bath, and the living area includes a very comfortable pull-out couch with a brand new air mattress, and a private bath. Living/dining area overlooks the pool area.
The upper level also includes a heated one-car garage with ski racks; walk across Apres Ski Way to the slopes and ski/hike down to the gondola. After an active day outside, the free shuttle can take you to the ski area base or downtown for dinner at one of Steamboat's fabulous restaurants.
Pack and play available; condo certified kid-friendly by our two small kids. "A" rated by management company.
Reservation policy: 3 night minimum stay. $300 deposit to reserve (refundable - converts to a security deposit), half of rent due 60 days in advance, and remainder due 30 days in advance. Cancellations/refunds by owner discretion.

Year Purchased: 2006
Steamboat Retreat belongs to Anne & Rick Johnson and John & Mimi Catlin, who are Anne's parents. We regularly visit Steamboat with the kids/grandkids, (6 and 4). Rick is an airline pilot (recently retired from USAF), Anne and John are engineers, Natalie is a fashionista, Ryan is a trip, and Mimi stays busy trying to keep track of the rest of the gang.
Why the Owner Chose The Phoenix
The Yampa Valley Curse got us! We went to Steamboat for skiing in 2002, and have been coming back ever since. The skiing is fantastic, the town is friendly, and the Phoenix is in a great location.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
The condo itself is beautifully decorated and well positioned in the complex, overlooking the pool. The slopes are right across the street, so we can easily walk to the base area, including ski school. The Phoenix has a BRAND NEW exterior, with all new windows and doors - come check it out!

Enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Steamboat Retreat just prior to the 4th of July. Comfortable accomodations, very close to swimming pool and to Gondola Square (great for skiing AND summer activities, too). Would rent again.

Wonderful condo in the Mountain Village area. Very comfortable for our family and with lots of walking trails and beautiful outdoor spots nearby. We enjoyed the season and hikes near Fish Falls and Catamount. Would love to return with the snow this winter! Thanks!
