You need look no further if you are wanting to get a real sense of what living on Puget Sound is like. This place is so intimate and charming that we didn't want to leave. The views are unbeatable and the sounds of the waves are at your doorstep. The rental is extremely well furnished and you can tell much thought was put into its design, We will definitely be back and only wish we owned the place. It is well worth the price, especially if you are lucky enough to have the great weather we had.

We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years, finding it well worth the search to avoid hotels and find a home away from home. And this may well have been the best one ever. A thoughtful host and a comfortable, well-appointed cottage and spectacular views equal something special you can't easily get anywhere else - Jeff's place had it all. The Beach Cottage gives the experience of simultaneously being both in Seattle and being away from it all. Our experience has been that the reality of our chosen VRBOs may fall somewhat short of our expectations. The Beach Cottage far exceeded even the rosiest of pictures we had imagined! What a gem this place is for a stay, short or long.

I found this listing #115799 on VRBO and it is a special place on earth! I travel to Seattle to visit my family. But I also like to have a mini vacation while I am there. Hotels? Been there, done that. Visiting family does not mean that you have to share their bathroom. I love having my own space with quiet mornings and peaceful evenings. I love to be outdoors and enjoy nature, I love crisp clean air and spectacular water views, I love being on the water, but I get sea-sick. So this wonderful, secluded cottage is perfect… it is terra firma above the waves lapping on the shore beneath the deck. It is Right ON the water’s edge and it is totally private. From inside the cottage and from the outside deck that runs the length of the cottage, there are unobstructed views for miles of Puget Sound, Mt Rainer to the left and the Cascade Mountains to the right. The bedroom is exactly that, a very comfy bed in a room with a full wall window looking out at the Puget Sound and the trees and sky. (and raccoons sometimes) The cottage has a living room with a stone fireplace (use candles only) and two sets of double french doors that open out to the expansive deck. It has a fabulous modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, concrete counters, dishwasher, and the works. It is like living in Architectural Digest with white furniture, shells in apothecary jars and a powerful shower above a claw foot bathtub. The owners make sure that everything is impeccably clean, that everything is in working order and most importantly, they respect your privacy. Contact is by phone only. No knocking on the door to see if everything is all right. The cottage is only 15 minutes south to downtown or north to Ballard. Yet you feel as if you are on the outer islands. On the way in, I buy my food at a local market, which is located just a bit north of the Magnolia Bridge, and I’m set. I can’t wait to get back to “get away”. It is a wonderful feeling driving down to the cottage, knowing that I’m going to such a special place on earth! I have stayed here for three years and now I am willing to share. PS. There is a long flight of stairs from the street to the Cottage. Going down is easy. But back up, I have to pace myself.

My husband and I just stayed in the cottage. You are conveniently close to the city but feel like you are out in the wilderness alone. The cottage has absolutely everything and more than you could ever need. Even on a grey, rainy day in Seattle it is wonderful watching the water from the living room or the bed. Photos are very accurate. Jeff was very helpful. We would absolutely recommend this rental without reservation.

We discovered The Cottage a few years ago after tiring of hotels in downtown. Summertime brings us to Seattle once or twice each year and we have now stayed there 3 times. We never grow tired of it. Whether we are sitting on the deck and watching the ships go by, catching another beautiful sunset, or kayaking along the shoreline we love this place. You could not be any closer to the water. Jeff has always been very accommodating and has the place clean and well equipped. Much nicer and more relaxing than staying in downtown and convenient to any place you wish to travel (if you actually want to leave). Thanks for another great stay. You know we'll be back!

My wife and I came to Seattle to visit our daughter and found this gem to stay! We had a spectacular time, the place is absolutly as beautiful as it looks. The interior is so beautifully decorated and laid out that it feels much larger than it is. But, the deck, which we spent a lot of time on, makes the entire space feel much larger. The views inspired us every day and the light from the moon shining through the bedroom window at night, wonderful! The owenr, Jeff, was very helpful and available if needed, although we never needed assistance as everything was just spit spot! We plan to return and look forward to that day!

I've just read the reviews posted and can concur with them absolutely. I had lived in the NW/Seattle area for 45+ years and now return frequently. This cottage and property offers not only the BEST of the NW, but also a rich palate of Seattle's specific beauty and charm. If you are looking for the ultimate Seattle experience you can find it here. No need for crowded and tedious ferry lines to the San Juan Islands, or wrestling with I-5 / I-405 traffic or long car trips. From the pristine salty beach air, to 180 degree view of mountains, Elliott Bay, and islands, to shady lanes and greenery, to sounds of the tides and waves below, and only minutes from all corners of the city's most enticing neighborhoods and eateries, the property offers all this and more. You will find yourself reluctant to give up quiet relaxing hours in this charming house and yet find that excursions are an effortless jaunt with all amenities close at hand. The owner, Jeff, is most gracious and accommodating. The property impeccably maintained, inside and out, true to the beach side motif. Small touches, such as a bouquet of fresh flowers in a vase and votive candles tucked into every corner are evidence to the care with which the cottage is maintained. If you want an authentic and utterly perfect venue for your Seattle visit this is it. People DO really live like this, and you can experience it all right here. Questa casa e a pui buono albergo nella tutta citta Seattle. Sono beleca. Andiamo!

My wife and I rented the lower unit for two weeks and the beach cottage for our daughter and her husband for one week so that we could have a base of operations for our family vacation with our son who lives downtown. Everything was exactly as promised and as pictured. We loved experiencing the changing views of the Sound from our windows and the patio as the Seattle weather "did its thing." The parade of ships of all types and sizes and the flight and feeding of multiple species of birds during high and low tides provided us with constant visual stimulation. We appreciated and made use of Jeff's suggestions for restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed a spectacular two weeks and definitely will stay here again.

Staying at this charming cottage was a vacation into itself! The pictures are simply a teaser...starting off the morning with a fresh brewed cup of coffee, the sun shimmering across the Sound, Mt. Rainier to the left and Mt. Olympus to the right, was more breathtaking than words can describe! We had wonderful excursions and meals in and around Seattle (only minutes away) and to national parks, however, we cancelled a few activities just so we could get back to sit and relax on the deck! The detail to decorating and inviting ambiance of the cottage is amazing! Every view, whether sitting on the sofa, in the kitchen area or lying in bed, takes in the Puget Sound. We had a wonderful anniversary trip and feel so lucky to have skipped the hotel scene and stayed at this Seattle gem!

My husband and I travel to Seattle several times a year. He goes for business and I go for pleasure but this time it was more than a pleasure...Staying in the lower level unit was a very peaceful, relaxing escape from the city. The unit was clean and simply charming with incredible water views! We kept the windows open all day and night and listened to the water which added to the feeling of relaxation and tranquility. The owner Jeff was very nice and made us feel extremely comfortable and right at home. He was helpful with information and ideas also.Although this place is secluded you can walk into the village and pass incredible homes along the way...Don't miss Palisade restaurant with delicious food and views of the Marina to complete the dining experience. This Seattle gem is a little piece of heaven on earth....

The Beach Cottage is a tiny gem within the City of Seattle. It is located within a 10 min. drive from downtown in a small picturesque area called Magnolia. The area is ripe with Parks, walking and running paths and gorgeous houses. The Cottage is so quaint and inviting that you will never want to leave. Jeff, the owner is an incredibly nice man who is very accommodating. You enter the Cottage down a set of stairs that are fenced in by bamboo. The cottage is natural and beach-themed. The expansive deck is incredible with chairs and tables and even sun loungers with cushions. The view is incredible. The cottage is actually on stilts and when you are in it, you feel like you are over top of the ocean. The bed is probably the nicest bed I have ever slept in. The queen bed is raised and faces a large picture window that looks over Puget sound. You can lie in bed and see the view..it's absolutely incredible. Open the window and hear the waves crash on the shore below. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities you can imagine and even comes with some spices, oils and other items many places do not carry. The living room has a romantic candlelit fireplace, comfy furniture and an assortment of quality magazines and books. There is wireless internet, a flat-screen TV and stereo equipment. This Cottage is very quiet and away from the bustle of downtown. This cottage has an amazing ability to feel like home.

In mid-October we (2 couples) rented the lower level unit and the beach cottage. We were delighted with both. All of the outdoor areas were lovely and felt very private. The spacious deck at the beach cottage was an especially enjoyable place to watch the ships and wildlife - we sat on the deck with coffee or cocoa every morning. We also used the sitting area down the path toward the beach often. We loved walking on the beach during low tide. The rooms themselves were tastefully decorated in a lovely beach cottage style and very clean. There were lots of little details that made the rooms very special. We loved the driftwood mantle in the lower level unit and the unique bathtub in the beach cottage. The pictures of the views from the lower level don't do the actual view justice, and the views from the beach cottage are spectacular. Both units were very well equipped with everything we needed and more (it was wonderful having a washer and dryer, too). The kitchen in the lower level is especially spacious and we used apples from the trees in the yard (suggested by owner) to make a pie. We were assigned off-street parking which was great since the road in front of the property is pretty narrow and we had rented a mini-van. We all agreed - next time we take a trip to Seattle, we want to stay here again.

We wish we could have stayed here forever!!! The place is immaculate, upgraded appliances, and the view...the view is unbelievable! You can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in bed looking out that fabulous bedroom window with that view! The stairs....they add to the amazing adventure as you wind you way down to find your own hideaway! The location couldn't have been better. Having lived in and around Seattle myself for over 16 years I knew the places I wanted to revisit and this place is close to all of them and yet located on a deadend street. Pike Place Market...there! Ferries to Bremerton, Bainbridge, or elsewhere...there! The Ballard Locks...just around to the left...over the bridge and there you are! Place after place after place was easily within reach at this location. Back to the property itself....Jeff and Alicia have thought of everything you could possibly need and have taken care of it for you. Really, there are no other options as I see it if you're visiting Seattle....the is a couple's dream come true! Gone 2 weeks and still in a dream....ahhhhhh!
