We had a great week in St. John. The condo was very good, clean and close to town. There was quite a bit of walking as we only rented a car for a day but both my husband and myself enjoy hiking so we looked at it as being exercise. The view from the deck was absolutely amazing- undescribably beautiful. Usually, we had good breezes that kept the 3rd floor condo comfortable. The plunge pool was excellent and we looked forward to using it after our walks back to Battery Hill. It was clean and refreshing. Honeymoon and Solomon beaches were about a half hour walk from the condo and are lovely, tranquil beaches. Frank Beach is closeby to the condo but not one many people used while we were there. We look forward to visiting the area again!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Tropical Breeze apartment. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/plates/etc, it felt cozy and the view from the balcony was wonderful. We never had to use the AC as there was always a pleasant breeze. The apartment is close enough to town that we walked a few times (some hills but pleasant walk) but there is also plenty of parking in front of the property. The on-site management team (Doug) was always available, very friendly and helpful. We had a fun and relaxing vacation in St John and Tropical Breeze was the perfect place to go back to after a day at the beach. We will recommend this place to friends and relatives.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tropical Breeze! The view on three sides is water! The view from the deck is the best on the bay! The condo was clean and comfy for our family of four including two teenage girls. We were within walking distance to a beach (Frank Bay), and Cruz Bay dining and shopping. We enjoyed one day just relaxing in the condo. We made dinner two nights in, and the kitchen was just the right size. Booking and confirming was easy and our on island hosts met us at the ferry and were so helpful. Thank you for a trip of a lifetime! I highly recommend this condo!

Fabulous Family Vacation Condo!

We stayed at Tropical Breeze for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our children are 12 and 8 so they had the bedroom and full bath upstairs. We had plenty of space in the apartment to get ready or hang around. The deck over looking the bay is a luxury that is so rarely found. The views are just beautiful!!! The kitchen is newly renovated/fully equipped and so easy to make breakfasts and dinners. We walked to town a few days that we didn't have a rental car though I would recommend having a rental car to explore this beautiful island's beaches and fill up the kitchen if you plan to eat in. Almost everything is thought of for you with this condo including beach towels and icebox so this is truly a tropical vacation.

Big Beautiful Condo

This was our second visit to Battery Hill. The last time we were there, we stayed in a lower unit with our children. This time, we were with another couple and the space could not have been better! Our friends had the loft with twin beds and their own bath. We were also comfortable on the main floor. After returning from a day at the beach, we threw together some cheese, crackers, wine and sat on the deck overlooking all of the harbor. It was absolutely delightful. We wouldn't hesitate to go back to Tropical Breeze.

We thoroughly enjoyed our January stay at Tropical Breeze, nestled high above Cruz Bay, with the most spectacular views, not only from the balcony, but from each and every window. The condo is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated - the floor plan, with a lovely open loft area and second bath, worked nicely for two couples. Loved being able to walk down to town and equally appreciated the exercise when returning "home." Met very nice people staying in the adjoining units who offered great advice and recommendations. We are thankful for the opportunity to stay in this beautiful spot on St. John and look forward to returning again in the near future.

This recently remodelled condo is perfect for 4 people. The balcony has a beautiful view overlooking Cruz Bay. The owner and managers were very helpful. The unit was very clean. Its location is ideal for being able to walk into Cruz Bay. There are also several beaches within a one and a half mile walking distance. I would definitely recommend it.

Me, my wife and our daughter stayed at Tropical Breeze for six nights starting our new year. We enjoyed every minute of it, and we would definitely go back in the future. The condo exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect, fantastic view of the ocean, Cruz Bay and beyond, walking distance to shopping, market, good restaurants, and more. The unit is well furnished, clean, spacious, and everything you need for cooking. The 2nd bathroom and it's top level deck make Tropical Breeze a crown jewel of the Battery Hill. The manager, Sharon is really nice, friendly, and always helpful.

The pictures don't do it justice. The views are incredible, watching the sunset over St. Thomas was one of our favorite things. Convenient location, having a place to park was great. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Perfect Viewing Spot

Three of us (my wife and I and our long time friend) stayed for 5 nights and couldn't have picked a better spot. There is more than a 300 degree view of the area from a couple hundred feet high. The condos units are stacked with windows on all 4 sides. It was perfect for viewing the village below us and the sea around us. It was comfortable living, just a short walk down to town, and everything needed to enjoy the beach outings was provided. We enjoyed several hours by the pool which also had great views. It was even fun to observe our spot while down in town, and even from the Asolare restaurant on the distant hillside. As a matter of fact, you can look up and see the Battery Hill condo from almost anywhere in Cruz Bay. We've been traveling 3-4 times a year for over ten years and have never stayed in the same place twice. Should we find ourselves returning to St John, this one we would do again.

As a retiree, I have myriad opportunities to do what I love most, travel. For my time and expense there is no more fabulous a place than St. John; friendly, helpful people, tranquility of its two-thirds preserved nature, bountiful hiking & history to explore, all surrounded by pristine beach after beach after beach. (Yes, there is great food, lots of rum, shopping, and you can even buy a tee-shirt)! Tropical Breeze at Battery Hill Condos makes RETURNING to the aforementioned a paramount "bucket list" event. One stay at this magnificent condo will never suffice. It is five-star in every aspect; convenience, comfort, amenities, indescribably romantic Caribbean views, sunsets, and heavenly night skies. It is perfection in a beautiful, exquisite memory.

My husband and I enjoyed the opportunity to stay at Tropical Breeze for 10 days in October. It was fantastic, to say the least. The unit and complex are exactly as described in the listing - but better in person! The views and breezes are breathtaking. Waking every morning to the beautiful view was a great way to start, and end, the day. The unit is extremely well maintained. All furnishings, appliances, linens and outdoor furniture are current. It is very obvious that the owner takes great pride in their unit. The grounds at Battery Hill are manicured, and very tropical. The pool area with grill and outdoor furniture is user friendly, and very clean. We enjoyed all of the local area restaurants and bars - as well as shopping in Cruz Bay. This trip we did not rent a car as we have in the past. We took advantage of the bus system - a treat in itself - and local taxi's - even pizza delivery! For touring all the beaches on the island at your leisure a car/jeep would be recommended. We particularly enjoyed the Iguana Grill - a newer restaurant/bar directly across from the famed Woody's. The Iguana Grill is elevated, shaded in the afternoon, and not on the street level so it is out of traffic. Good staff, food and happy hour! High Tide is also a favorite - right on the water with an extremely friendly staff and great food! Of course, cooking at the unit is easy because the kitchen is fully equipped. The owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Tropical Breeze will not dissapoint! We're already looking forward to our return. Thank you, Don, for a wonderful ten days!

My husband and I stayed at Tropical Breeze in July for seven nights. We loved it the minute we walked in. Beautiful, tropical decor, air condtion throughout and a well stocked kitchen. We appreciated the free wi-fi, coolers and beach chairs. The location is great, we didnt rent a jeep this time! Im hoping to come back next July and bring some friends along with us! My girlfriend and I rented Tropical Breeze for a week in April. We were delighted by the accommodations. They exceeded our expectations. The space is very roomy and well-ventilated by many windows and glass doors and vaulted ceiling coupled with numerous ceiling fans, which certainly adequately provided ventilation to the large loft with it’s own full bath. The view from the deck down to Cruz Bay (which we enjoyed at breakfast most days) and sunsets across towards St Thomas were truly amazing! The view from the balcony is comparable to that found at both Asolare and Zozo’s – both very unique restaurants on either side of Cruz Bay. We enjoyed sunset cocktails at Zozo’s on multiple occasions, just a few minutes walk from Tropical Breeze. The proximity to town makes this place very convenient and the views are well worth the hike up the hill from town. We rented a Jeep to explore the island during the day and it was very convenient to have parking next to the unit and the beach chairs and coolers provided proved very useful as well. Everything you would expect to be provided in a rental was available. The kitchen had new appliances and every piece of equipment we needed. We loved this place and hope to return soon!

Two friends and I rented Tropical Breeze for a week in March. We would rent it again in a minute! It is even better than it appears in the listing photos, which can capture neither the extensive views from the welcoming open plan nor the breezes that gave the condo its name. The photo suggests that the upstairs room with twin beds might be enclosed and windowless, but in fact it is a loft partially open to the high-ceilinged living room and has smaller windows near the floor that keep the breezes--helped by the four ceiling fans--circulating. Having a second bathroom upstairs was especially welcome. Nearly everything you would want provided in a rental was available. The kitchen had all new appliances and every piece of equipment we needed (short of a lemon zester--and how many condos would have a zester?). We had all our breakfasts on the balcony and even entertained friends for dinner there one night. Once they saw our view, they opted for dinner "home" rather than at one of St. John's nicer restaurants. The only drawbacks: Battery Hill scooped up the music from Beach Bar below and delivered it right to the bedrooms each night, and our local rooster was time-challenged, deciding at various points in the night to alert us repeatedly to something or other, but it sure wasn't the arrival of dawn. Ear plugs or air conditioning more or less solved the noise problem, and the advantages more than made up for the noise. We even came to like the fairly short uphill walk to the condo, given the reward that awaited us at the top and the self-satisfaction that even a little exercise evokes. The walk could be a deterrent to some, however, and it helped that our friends gave us a ride back from the grocery store, allowing us to avoid lugging wine and water. If you like a slightly challenging walk and bring ear plugs, these are minor concerns that shouldn't deter you from enjoying the otherwise perfect place in St. John. In short, we loved this place! As for sightseeing tips, besides snorkeling at some of the beaches, we especially enjoyed the Reef Bay hike with a National Park Service ranger. We signed up on our first day there to hike on our last day, but were on the waiting list. Fortunately, we made the cut. The two-mile walk is all downhill through a valley from Centerline Road to the bay, where after an opportunity to swim, a boat picks up the group and returns everyone around the south of St. John’s back to Cruz Bay. Tropical Breeze at Battery Hill

Tropical Breeze is as good as it gets. The condo is up to date and kept very clean. We have been fortunate to have stayed there many times. It is convenient to Cruz Bay shopping and the start of trails to the beach. You do not have to rent a vehicle because it is easy to get a bus or cab to what ever beach you desire on the island. I prefer to rent a Jeep to go every where. After a day of "hard work" on one of the many beaches, we enjoy relaxing on the deck and watching the activities of boats and ferries in Cruz Bay and the channel between St. John and St. Thomas. The sunset is spectacular!!! You watch the Sun go down in the channel between St. James Island and St. Thomas. The Sun's reflection on the on the water is mesmerizing! It calls for a good Bloody Mary.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay here for 12 days. It was the best vacation! Close to town, so you don't have to have a car the whole vacation. The condo had the most amazing views. The renovated kitchen was lovely. The owner has appointed the condo very well and he was easy to work with and offered wonderful advice. St. John is a great island and very friendly. Highly suggest going to National Park visitors Center they gave us great ideas. We can't wait to return.

A Magical Place

We are planning our third visit to St. John and Tropical Breeze. After visiting many islands, we feel we have found the perfect combination in the island of St John and the amenities found at Tropical Breeze. The island offers many beaches, and each one offers something unique and enjoyable. Whether you spend your day lounging on the beach, snorkeling, hiking, or just touring around the island admiring its beauty, you can always look forward to a relaxing evening back at Tropical Breeze. You can enjoy the views, watch the boats coming in and out of the harbor, and ultimately experience the sunset. I particularly love waking in the morning and having my coffee on the deck, starting my day taking in the beautiful ocean view. As other guests have commented, the condo is well equipped, immaculate, quiet and convenient. The owners have upgraded the condo each year that we have visited, with a new bathroom off of the second floor bedroom, and this year an upgraded kitchen. We are looking forward to using the new kitchen, as dinner on the balcony is a wonderful way to spend a quiet evening, enjoying the tropical breezes. We love being able to walk to town after dinner on the deck and visiting the shops. You will get your exercise walking back, but it is well worth the climb to be able to relish the view. The restaurants in town are all quite good, with a nice variety from casual to high-end. A trip to Skinny Legs is a must. Again, a car is nice to have, but public transportation is easy to use and very convenient to access from Tropical Breeze. Enjoy your visit!

A REMARKABLE CONDO WITH AN UNBELIEVABLE VIEW

We have returned to St John on Battery Hill to these condos 6 times during the past 15 years as they are in a perfect location on top of a hill overlooking Cruz Bay. This particular condo, Tropical Breeze is the best one as it is the highest unit with a fantastic view. Having breakfast, lunch or dinner out on the deck overlooking the entire west side of the island was most enjoyable. There was always a cool breeze flowing through this condo as it was very open and never too warm. This luxury condo was accommodating to all our needs and we found everything in excellent condition. We have visited most Caribbean Islands and St John is our clear favorite because as its gorgeous beaches, friendly people, and that 50% of the island is National Park. We highly recommend this condo as it clearly exceeded our expectations.

As first time visitors to St. John, we were a bit apprehensive--not about the island, really, but more over having rented something direct from owner, sight unseen. Our concern vanished the moment we walked into Tropical Breeze. The unit is exactly as billed--totally immaculate, tastefully furnished, all the comforts of home. And the views are to die for; hard to imagine anything more beautiful. Choosing Battery Hill for it's walk-to-town location was the right move for us. Although we did rent a Jeep ($75+) for a day to explore the far reaches of the island, we spent the rest of our days walking or taking a cab to the beach (Trunk Bay). From Battery Hill, the beach at Frank Bay is just a few minutes away by foot; not great sand, but really nice snorkeling (To avoid the coral, enter the water at the not-so-rocky south end, near the pipes that go to the desalination plant). We also walked the Lind Point Trail to both Soloman and Honeymoon beaches. The trail begins just behind the National Park Service Visitor Center in Cruz Bay. Walking time from the Visitor Center is 20-25 minutes. Had a great time. Would rent Tropical Breeze again in a heartbeat!

Enjoyed the stay - excellent view of Cruz Bay and sunset each evening, very nice condo. Top floor unit - 32 steps - kept us in good shape. Ample parking for a rental car. Short (but steep) walk to Cruz Bay village for dinner each night. We would rent this condo again.
