Beautiful, cozy chalet is located on a large, privately-owned lake on a 325 acre estate in the Laurentian Hills. A marriage of old and new, the cottage combines modern amenities with the charm of the original squared-log cabin. With the pine and cedar panelling and many windows the chalet is bright and comfortable.
The deep spring-fed lake is a swimmers oasis. Sunbathe on the dock and enjoy the tranquility or take the canoe or rowboat and explore the back bay at "High Rock" or the "Cliffs". Visit the "Tea House" which sits on the water. Hike along the "Beaver Lodge" trail to the top of "Bear Mountain" and discover the surrounding countryside with views of Mont Royal 60 km to the south. Try the mountain bike trails which can be fast and furious. Closeby there are numerous paved and gravel backroads offering many miles of road cycling.
Autumn colours from the hardwoods on the hills peak near the end of September. Visit the local hiking centers which offer impressive views.
Winter has even more activities with the surrounding cross-country ski trails and off trail snowshoe treks into the "back & beyond". Keep the kids busy on the lighted sliding hill or ice skating if the winter snow isn't too deep. Warm up in the sauna. Take advantage of one of the many downhill ski areas.
Springtime brings maple syrup season when the sugarhouse is going full steam ahead. Enjoy taffy on the snow.
Whatever the season, the "Little Cabin" can accomodate. |
