Villa Côté Sud is a completely new and renovated beach front home on the south side of St. Thomas facing the Caribbean. There is simply nothing like it on St. Thomas. You walk through a elegant entry way to a house that opens out to the sea, looking over the large infinity edge pool. The house is superbly decorated with original art, very high end furniture and accessories. In total, the house has 4250 square feet inside and another 2600 square feet of covered verandas and decks, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a separate media room and a fitness center. This is a true, luxury villa and it is for people who want to experience the very best on St. Thomas. It is not for everyone.
The downstairs organizes around a very large Great Room in the center, with a large bedroom, bathroom, a full media room on one side, and a huge Woodmode kitchen and fitness center on the other. The house opens on covered verandas on three sides of the Great Room. Upstairs, the house has three very large bedrooms, two of which open to a large sunning deck and the third with its own private balcony. These are large, comfortable rooms, with large modern bathrooms attached. Every room has a new 32" plasma, wall mounted television, DVD players, air-conditioning, and is beautifully decorated. The media room has a 50 inch plasma screen, with Bose surround sound. The fitness center has an elliptical trainer, a Schwinn stationary bike, and a universal weight center.
The house is situated on 1.5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac, behind an electronic gate. The beach is 345 feel of small pebbles, with a 100 foot private pier out into the Caribbean, and stairs to make it very easy to get in and out of the water for snorkeling -- with a shower at the beach to use before going back to the house. There is a short, 400 foot walk to a half mile of largely deserted sandy beach where many guests swim and sun bath without suits. The house provides snorkeling gear and fishing equipment, but the jet ski rentals are only 5 minutes away at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef. In addition, there is a 38' by 12' infinity pool, a large hot tub for up to six people, and lovely outdoor covered eating area.
The house is luxury at its best -- new furniture and equipment, beautifully decorated, original art and paintings, completely equipped, designed for privacy, with views that are simply spectacular. The house is just five minutes from car from the new Yacht Haven Grande and all of the downtown shopping, which is a new center for the yachts of the rich and famous. At the same time, the location is about as private as you can get on St. Thomas. You sit on your deck by the pool in the evening and watch the beautiful cruise ships leave the harbor. The house is equipped with a 27K generator, which guarantees the Villa will have power during the frequent power breakdowns on St. Thomas.

- Private Pool: This 38' by 12' infinity edge pool ranges in depth from 3 feet to nearly 5.5 feet. The views from the edge of the pool of the ocean, islands and cruise ships are beautiful.

- Full Kitchen: The kitchen is one of the highlights of the house, with top of the line, GE Monogram appliances, wine cooler, two wet bar refrigerators, tasteful table settings, and all of the utensils you might need. There are unbreakable glasses for the veranda.
- Cooking Utensils Provided: The provision of utensils is very, very complete. If a guest has a special request, we will honor it and provide it.
- Refrigerator: Oversized GE refrigerator/freezer. There is a small refrigerator upstairs in a common area, and a beverage cooler in the kitchen.

- Balcony: There is a huge upstairs tiled deck that overlooks the ocean, with two bedrooms opening directly to the deck. An excellent place to sun bath or have coffee in the morning from the upstairs wet bar area. There is a separate, private balcony for the other upstairs bedroom.
- Lanai: Caribbean living is inside/outside, and this veranda adds the equivalent of two complete rooms it is so large. It walks down to a deck in front of the swimming pool, with room for 6 to 8 to sit and sun themselves.

- Beachfront: The house is about 30 feet above the beach below. The 345 foot pebble beach is totally private and cannot be accessed from either side. The 100 ft. concrete pier has removable stairs into the water at the end to allow guests easy access to swimming and some of the best snorkeling on St. Thomas. If you want sand, a half mile of mostly deserted Green Cay Beach is 400 feet from the house in a gentle walk. There is rarely anyone there, and we provide picnic materials to make your stay enjoyable.

- The owner provides a deeply discounted price of $1300 per day to charter the 48' Yacht POSH, which is moored at Seager Haven Marine. Please contact owner via email to arrange a day on the water. Posh is legally limited to a party of six, and the yacht is captained by a licensed crews and fully insured. This is a luxuary yacht, and nothing is nicer than a private day on the water around St. John and the British Virgin Islands.

- The use of Green Cay Beach, which is entirely deserted, is wonderful -- only a few hundred feet by foot. The Beach is peaceful, seldom used, provides great snorkling, and picnics. Cote Sud is the only property that is directly adjacent to the beach.

Why the Owner Chose Frenchman's Bay
Cote Sud is really unique as a beachfront property on St. Thomas because it provides ease access to two different beaches; the 345 ft pebble beach directly on the property and a half mile, mostly deserted sandy beach next door about 400 feet away. The 100 foot pier, also unique, provides access to the water for fishing and snorkeling. The views are of the Caribbean and the islands off the coast, but the house is situated so that guests in the pool can watch the beautiful cruise ships leave the harbor at night. The 1.5 acre lot is private and secluded, at the end of a cul-de-sac, gated and fenced, with no houses on visable from the ocean side of the house, and the only noise is the sound of the water, the birds, and the breeze. We fell in love with the location and hated the house that was on it, so we bought the property, gutted the original home, and rebuilt a much larger house with a huge pool and a wide open internal feeling.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
We doubt if you will find another house in the Virgin Islands that provides so many things to do. The snorkeling from the pier is wonderful among huge boulders and coral. Green Cay Beach is perfect for hiking, exploring, swimming, and picnics. Shopping downtown is less than two miles away, and the Marriott is nearby for rentals, para sailing, excellent dining, and evening entertainment. For us, however, the most important benefits are eating breakfast, lunch and dinner outside, in the quiet and beauty of the grounds, and watching the sea in the evening as the sun goes down and the cruise ships leave for their next destination.
Located directly at the end of Shoreline Dr, a cul-de-sac, and overlooking Frenchman's Cove, a part of Frenchman's Bay.
These are the main shopping areas, where the cruise ships land. There are a number of excellent restaurants closeby.

Villa Cote Sud is the 5th redevelopment project of Gordon and Annika Black. We moved to the Virgin Islands in 2003, after my retirement as the Chairman and CEO of Harris Interactive, and we have underway or completed seven renovations of existing homes. We have sold four of our properties, two are for rent now, and the another is about 75 percent completed. Gordon manages the selection of the properties and Annika does all of the interior design and furnishing. We live on Island more than half the year, and we have a full time staff that manages the property and the guests.
