If you are looking to get away from it all in a tropical paradise, our beach home is the place. Our home is located in the quaint beach town of Las Penitas, known for long stretches of sandy beaches, clean aqua blue water, a slow paced vibe, and unbelievable sunsets. Las Penitas is located next to Poneloya, 15 minutes outside of Leon. No American developers have found this area, so it is very safe, quiet, and uncrowded, and the beauty is unspoiled.

Our four bedroom, four bath beach home has a kitchen, dining room, outdoor living room with ceiling fans, pool, rancho, and a refreshing ocean breeze. The property is on the beach with a gate that opens right onto the sand.

Caretakers live on property and provide daily cleaning and cooking.

  • Local hotels and hostals offer surf lessons, surfboard and boogie board rentals, kayak rentals, bicycle rentals, and boat tours of local island. There is also a hostal nearby, Playa Las Rocas, that offers internet and international calls for a very low price. In addition they offer surf lessons (ask for Lenny), surf board rentals, fishing trips, and a tour of the local river and Isla Juan Venado.

  • Very nice area to stay and relax away from the city. My niece was able to get some surfing lessons from one of the natives and she had a great time. Pedro and Carmen were great in cooking and helping us out with getting around with either purchasing fish and shrimp and getting us even a phone card. I even borrowed their daughters to take us around Leon so we wouldn't get lost. The only down side is there was no phone and no TV stations to watch but, we didn't mind there were a lot of movies I enjoyed again watching. The restaurants were a great place to eat. and very friendly they also spoke English.
