The home is very nice and well equipped. The owners obviously take pride in their home and this is reflected by the furnishings, decor and awesome kitchen. There is nothing worse than renting a home that does not have a well stocked kitchen with quality cookware and sharp knives. This has all that and more. The area is very quiet with stunning views and after exploring the area to figure out the little towns and what they had to offer made it all the more enjoyable. The local wineries are wonderful and there is no reason to visit the ones in Napa with these so close and their wonderful wines and tastings that they offer. The owners are very helpful with recommendations and are great to deal with.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Outstanding Property, Spectacular Views

My husband and I just come back from our getaway at Perla Del Lago. We did not want to leave the house for a moment. It was so relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed dinners on the patio watching spectacular sunsets over the lake and view from the bedroom every morning. The house is very clean and well maintained. We couldn't have wished for more. Thank you Bill and Kim for letting us enjoy your little piece of haven. David and Anna

Best pre-wedding bachelorette vacation imaginable!!! :)

Perla del Lago was the perfect place to host my sister’s bachelorette party. The house is incredible--the views are breathtaking, inside is gorgeous and so comfortable (and impeccably clean!). The five of us enjoyed time together cooking (great kitchen!), talking and laughing for hours into the night...which made us reallllly glad you have an espresso machine and we could make yummy coffee drinks the next morning. And thank you so much for all the free wine tastings!! We looooved all the wineries--we had no idea Lake County was so charming! It’s totally different than the crowded Napa wineries--we had such personal experiences at every one. At Ceago, we sat at the table in their tasting room, they brought out warm bread and their own fresh olive oil for us to enjoy with our tasting. We visited Gregory Graham, bought a bottle of Pinot Noir (incredible!) and he took us on a personal tour of his whole wine making process--he even gave the bride-to-be a complimentary bottle of dessert wine! We went down the road to Vigilance winery and they had a wine club event going on--and invited us to join them!! They were so warm and welcoming! And I have to tell you, one of the girls has a baby, but we didn’t want to bring him along to the wineries. The ONLY way we were able to convince her husband to come up to watch her son while us girls went out is because you guys get satellite TV and he could watch the game--although we all ended up laughing at him because he was so overtaken with the view out back that he said he spent all the commercials outside on the deck!! The whole experience, from the house, to everyone we met, to the time we spent just us girls was so great--we felt like we were on an extravagant vacation but so peaceful and “at home” (maybe because we could chill to your awesome selection of music--WOW, you guys have GREAT taste. Forgot to mention that on the first night, we got in kind of a fun party mood and danced our hearts out--thank goodness there’s no other places too close by that could hear/see us--haha. The next night we were much “classier” and enjoyed your jazz collection). Anyways, thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us girls to have some much needed pre-wedding down time. We can’t wait to come back! Cheers!

PERLA del LAGO is the best - what more can you say except the location is great with views over the lake that can't be beaten. Bill and Kim really make sure that there is everything you need for your break. We met some great people and had some great experiences - will definately come back again. You can't help but relax.We are making sure that everyone we talk to knows we had a really great holiday – we think it’s one of our best ever and will definitely get back to Lake County sometime soon. We are still boring everyone to death with our holiday pictures and long may it last.

In our last 15+ years of vacationing around the world this has been THE BEST vacation home we have ever rented. Bill and Kim went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. The views from this place are amazing, we had a great time relaxing in the solitude and the wide arms of nature. Be it the star gazing, or the bird watching, every aspect of our stay was memorable. Cant wait to get back out there very soon.

We came to Clear Lake to test our new 4WD vehicle on the dirt roads of the Mendocino National Forest a few miles behind Perla del Lago, but we found the house so comfortable and well-situated that we were tempted to do nothing but watch the wild turkeys, hawks and other birds during the day and watch the stars and listen to the crickets and the CD collection of Bill Evans, Diana Krall and other jazz favorites at night. The photographs of the stylish interior are good, but the reality is even better, particularly if you are a Francophile or Italophile. Five stars.

Bill & Kim, What an unbelievable weekend! This place is fantastic. It was so relaxing that it is going to be very hard to get back to work. We had a wonderful relaxing retreat with our friends. Your beautiful home exceeded our expectations (which is always nice)! Everything is very tasteful and thoughtful. I have traveled and stayed at many places-this home, this beautiful place, is by far the best! I felt at home, comfortable and relaxed. The breathtaking views are "heavenly". I don't want to go home. I was a little nervous about this trip because, [1] it was a last minute decision, [2] I found it on Craigslist, [3] I was by myself, [4] I've never been to Lake County, so I didn't know the area or what to expect. Well, let's just say, all expectations were blown away. First, the drive up here was spectactular and the house is gorgeous, took my breath away. Today we celebrated our 1st year of marriage and we're so blessed to enjoy it here. Talk about the perfect spot for a honeymoon! It's not Disneyland...it's not Niagara Falls...it's not the top of the Eiffel Tower. No. It's better than all that. We were at such peace sharing our first "married for life" days together here with the gentle waters of the lake and the twinkling of warm lights outlining it. Traveling from San Fran up to Eureka and back in one week was more exhausting than we thought. When we booked our one night reservation at Perla del Laga, we realized last minute we would need another night to relax, rejuvenate and renew! The owner, his family, and his staff were more than accommodating and helpful. The beautiful house had just the right touches and was so clean. The accommodations were comfortable for all - my 86 yr old grandmother, parents, 26 yr old brother, and myself! We loved waking up to the view, eating on the deck and watching movies at night! All of the recommendations provided were great. We would certainly come back and stay again next time we are in CA.

I had an absolutely delightful time staying at Perla del Lago. Everything I could ever want was provided: breathtaking 180-degree views from the spacious deck, beautiful decor and furnishings, a fully-stocked kitchen, CDs, DVDs, satellite TV, two lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, and tremendously hospitable hosts. There is no doubt that I will be coming back, and often!

You could imagine how frustrated we were after 6 hours driving to Clear Lake, which should have taken only 3 hours instead if it were not in the memorial holiday. But, at the first look of the house, we knew immediately it's worth every boring minute in the traffic. We had a really wonderful time there, not just for the great view, but also for all the comfortness and considerations in the house. We could just stay on the deck for the whole day chatting. And the owner keeps a good collection of CDs, DVDs, books, games. You could never get bored, and you'd hate to leave. I would recommend it to anyone. :)

Lovely, really lovely. My two sisters and I visited and our reunion was enhanced by the ambience of this home. This web site isn't the least bit overstated; in fact, you'll find many pleasurable extras. The crisp bed linens, thirsty towels, abundant kitchen staples (pots, pans, utensils), well-appointed bathrooms, comfy furniture. The view is wonderful and so is their home. I was completely amazed by the beautiful view of the hills and the lake. To see the early morning fog on the lake or the sparkling sun reflecting on the hills in the evening, was so breathtaking!!! It was a pleasure to stay in this beautiful resort home!!!

When I first saw the view from this gorgeous home, I was immediately transported to my honeymoon in Italy. The decor is stunning and I felt so welcome and pampered all at the same time! Can't wait to go back!

The first time I came here was with my fiance, we were shocked at how amazing the view was. Evenings on the deck, overlooking the lake, were absolutley beautiful and very romantic. I then came here a second time with a group of friends and everyone agreed that it was a perfect place to stay. It was way more roomy than a hotel, and we had the freedom to cook our own meals and have the deck all to ourselves. So I highly suggest this to anyone who wants an amazing getaway with friends, or a romantic retreat with a loved one.
