The backdrop for this amazing home is Puget Sound and majestic Mt. Rainier. As you gaze along the water you see several small islands, a car ferry, sea gulls in mid flight and loons diving for their daily sustenance. Located in a quiet beachside community, the Cottage is just steps away from the sea. Newly renovated, you need only walk through the front door to discover its charm. The kitchen features granite counters, new appliances and finely crafted cabinetry. The adjoining dining room provides a spectacular view of Puget Sound as you enjoy a simple meal relaxing with family or friends.
The living room area, with a free-standing fireplace, is decorated for comfort with a convertible sofa and a variety of relaxing chairs. Two sets of sliding glass doors lead onto a spacious deck stretching across the entire waterside of the home. The gas BBQ and picnic table provide a welcoming place at which you can prepare and enjoy the fresh oysters, salmon or rock crab harvested from the water below. A fire pit, steps away from the deck, provides a perfect place to make smores and share bedtime tales.
A short walk from the Cottage leads to a community staircase going down to the beach. Once you begin your scenic walk you discover seasonally this area has an incredible variety of sea life to explore – from starfish to sand dollars to hermit crabs, bringing a continual splash of color to this amazing beach..
There is one bedroom on the main floor with a queen-sized bed. The second floor provides you with a bedroom in a spacious loft with accommodations for 2 – 4 guests. A second independent bedroom on this floor provides you with an additional queen-sized bed. In this room you awaken to both a view of Mt. Rainier and a breathtaking sunrise on a bright summer’s morning.
The third floor of this home features a Widow’s Watch – reminiscent of the Captain’s homes in New England. It is a conversation room – an intimate setting surrounded by windows and a lovely wood banister. The highlight of this home, this room was designed specifically as a place for its guests to renew friendships, share stories of the past, or simply sit quietly - enjoying the tranquil sounds of the sea.
