COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR MORE!!! THIS CONDO IS EXACTLY THE PIC'S, DOUG WAS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH AND GINA....WAS AWESOME!!!! LOVED THE LOCATION IN CHERRY GROVE, EASY TO GET IN AND OUT, CONVENIENT TO ANYTHING YOU MAY NEED OR WANT... WILL DEF BE STAYING HERE AGAIN (of course, if Doug will allow!!)

direct oceanfront with incredible views at these prices!!! All I can say is what a country. Unit was very clean and well maintained. Had no problems at all and Doug was very accomodating. I have stayed at some dumps in MB and this certainly is not one of them. My family will be back here every year. Thanks Doug....

We came in July and had a wonderful time. We know as with any direct rental you must bring your own paper products...including toilet paper!!! You only get resort treatment if you rent from the resort. This is like renting someones house at the beach. WE loved it and it was spacious, comfortable, and when we called Doug about a problem he was quick to call a repairman. Maybe we are just more appreciative than others. You have a lovely place and don't let anyone tell you different. We plan on staying there again this summer!!! Thanks! The Hamricks

Overall, we had a good vacation at the Prince Resort. The views from this unit are amazing. It is a convenient location, with quick access to the Cherry Grove Pier. The unit is very spacious and has a great floor plan. The unit is in dire need of a good spring cleaning. The HVAC air filter is very dirty. The furniture was covered in dust. You will need to bring your own toilet paper. There were only 2 rolls. That was hardly enough for a family for an entire week. There is a supply closet, but it is for "emergencies" and should be restocked. There is no daily maid service despite what is stated on the ad for the unit. You can have daily maid service for an additional $60/day. Be prepared to take out your own trash. The prepaid cleaning service that is included in the rental fee is to clean up after you check out. The owner was not very friendly or helpful when contacted during our stay. Also, once you pay the 50% down, you are locked into that date unless the unit can be re-rented. That is a HUGE chunk of change to loose if you plans need to change. I would not rent directly from an owner again, even though it was a great rate. For us, the extra cost associated with renting directly from a resort is worth it. If you are up for no frills, this is a great place to stay.

Owner response:I have the unit thoroughly cleaned before spring season and after summer season as well as weekly cleaning after each rental. Some specifics would be nice. The rest of the stuff was all discussed in advance and provided in writing.

Disappointed

Our experience with this vacation rental can be described as disappointing. Upon arrival we found the condo to be very dirty. We found used dirty towels in floor and the floors seemed as if they had not been swept or mopped. The bathrooms were so dirty that we decided to purchase cleaner and clean them ourselves. The rental process was not much better. I had a very difficult time contacting the owner throughout the rental process. He also required that we pay a higher rate than advertised.

Owner response:First cleanliness complaint in over 3 years of rentals. The rest of the issues were discussed in advance yet ignored.

Recommended for:

A few unpleasant surprises.

We came the week before the 4th of July. It was rather crowed and check in was fairly quick...however, things went down hill the next day or so. Only 2 rolls of T.P. were provided and when I asked for more, was informed by the desk that we had to buy our own....This was not communicated to us by the owner. The desk person was rude and would not even "loan" us a roll until I could get to the store...For God's sake, we were completely out and neither she nor her manager gave a fig for my family's comfort. The woman at the concierige desk over heard our exchange took pity on us and gave me a roll she just happened to have. In the condo....No phone book, no T.V. station listings, beds are mushy and sheets were worn and torn, microwave handle is broken and the turntable doesn't work. We've stayed at worse .... but at these prices, I expect better service and at least some kindness from the front desk.

Owner response:I informed the guest, as I do all guests, that I am an owner renting directly to guests and all the front desk does for me is issue keys. They could have paid more and booked directly with the resort and received more attentive service. I was aware the the prior guest had broken the microwave, but was informed that it was operable and didnt want to interupt their stay to fix it. And I had an entire closet filled with TP and brand new sheets if they would have called me. This is the first guest in 3 years that didnt call me when there was a problem and give me an opportunity to fix anything for them. What a shame....

Hi Doug, Everything was as described, the unit was very clean and very comfortable. The view of the beach from the balcony was superb, we saw Dolphins on a few occasions. You can walk for miles on the beach, amazing for runners/joggers. You provided us with excellent customer service and we will definately return to your unit next time we are in North Myrtle Beach. Doug, thanks for a great week. Your place was everything you said and more! We've been vacationing in Cherry Grove on and off since 1984 and this is by far the best place we've ever stayed! The view from the 3rd floor balcony is a fantastic sight every morning and again every night. You will definitely have repeat rentals from our family. Everything was as described. Unit clean and comfortable. Short walk to beach from the building. Unit is just above the pool. Front desk was helpful and accommodating. No problems at all.

My husband & I stayed here for the month of November and really enjoyed the whole experience. The unit is very nice and everthing is new and high class. It is on the 3rd floor and one could see the beach and the ocean even sitting on the living room couch. The staff at the Prince Resort were very friendly and helpful for the whold month. We would definately stay here again.
