I was there at the end of October for a fall getaway. We were there during the storm but we were so comfortable the storm was not even an issue. The generater turned on immediately and we were able to enjoy a very relaxed few days. With all the movies, books, and great music the storm turned out to be a great time. The owner kept in touch during the storm and made us feel very safe. The house is just as amazing as the view. Best house around the area. You can really tell the house is very well taken care of and real thought was put into the decoration and art pieces. I will be visiting again.Owner response: Thank you so much...if "Sandy" can't stop someone from having a wonderful vacation just think what a week would be like with normal weather- you were a great sport..we can't wait to have you back again..hopefully next time with the sun shining every single day..

I thought to myself, "The perfect day, the perfect setting, what fantastic views of the lake and hills" ..."concentrate". These were the thoughts coming to me as I performed. I am a solo artist and performed on guitar and sang for a party and it was a great time all around! The entire property and surroundings lend themselves to creativity and an open spirit. I so enjoyed the setting and was inspired by the views as I performed. As an artist this is the kind of venue I really enjoy! After the performance I was able to relax with some of the guests and felt right at home. Very comfortable and cozy with a bright, open design. Loved it. Wish all my gigs could be like this one.Owner response: Danny added the magic to our special day...wonderful songs drifting across the water as we had cocktails..and then he got everyone to their feet with great dance music. If anyone would like me to conncect them with Danny..would be happy to make introductions. A wonderful guy to have around...as well as talented. I'm always happy when someone enjoys my special hideout. I always appreiciate all the cards and calls...but taking the time to write..means a lot. Thank you- come back and enjoy the changing seasons..they all have their special atmosphere..just like you create for so many.

Just wanted to write a short and personal note to thank Teresa for letting us stay in her beautiful house this past weekend. We loved it and it was the perfect getaway. It was even better than the pictures I saw. It felt like our home away from home with all the ammenities and attention to detail. My 4-year old son had the time of his life swimming and fishing with his father. We hope we can repeat our visit very soon. It was wonderful. I invited my in law's from oregon to spend a week in the chalet to enjoy the beauty of colorful connecticut during fall. Their stay was an wonderful experience, ,coming from oregon with its beauty in tall pines and cedar but the gracious natural display of changing colors in trees with reflection in the pristine highland lake is special . The beautiful chalet with all its offerings were complimentary. Ms. Malloney was an wonderful host.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Who doesn't love an English tudor? Step inside this beautifully decorated home with all the amenities of a 5 star resort ..down comforters, wonderful selection of movies, serenity if you'd like, or have a great party on this perfectly situated lake house. The choice is yours. From the moment you meet the owner, who is as beautifully attired as her home and as gracious, to the conclusion of your stay, you'll never regret a moment. Litchfield Hills with a wonderful variety of wineries and eatries add to your experience. I won't say, "eat, pray, love", but you get the jist. I've taken a group of Yale professionals for an afternoon party, prearranged by the hostess and, needless to say, all were pleased.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Although the weather was not perfect, it didn't hold us back. My wife and I spent 3 days and 3 nights in complete relaxation. We paddled the lake during the day spent nights by the cozy fire. Thanks, Teresa, for a great long weekend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Wake with a view of the sunrise over the sparkling lake. Enjoy a comfortably furnished interior. Relax on the deck. This is a great place to recharge your batteries. My husband, grandson and I spent 3 days there in 2003.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

As a little girl her dream was to 'see water'. The Reach Beyond was her dream...and is her personal hideout from the stresses of the business world...she has enjoyed meeting her guests and 'new family'
