As a single lady nearing retirement I wanted to explore the possiblity of moving to the north coast of the DR. While I had a rental car for exploring, this unit was close enough to Cabarete to use cabs at much less expense. The unit is exactly as shown on the website. Quite comfortable and I certaily felt safe there. The pool and beach area are lovely not to mention the beautiful Atlantic breezes. If I could change anything it would be the 3 story walk up (or I should have packed my duffle bag instead of a suit case). Cabarete is a gem of a town with great restaurants and bars on the beach unlike nearby Sosua. I also explored the area to the tune of 400+ miles - from Luperon to the west to Cabrera to the east. Absolutely a most beautiful nation! I would not hesitate to rent ther again!

Really enjoyed our stay; very nice accomodations, clean, well-maintained and secure community. Very quiet, except for New Years Eve (to be expected), but definately a place to relax and unwind. The most stressful decission was deciding between sitting by the pool or sitting on on the beach. 5 minute drive (cab/bus/moto) or 30 minute walk to Cabarete. Plenty to see and do in the Dominican. Thanks Isabel; this was our first on-line, pre-paid, privately booked vacation. It was everything we had hoped for, and we would gladly do it again.

Isabel, the owner is a great person to rent from. She was very clear in how you rented from her and answered all my questions, sometimes I am sure twice. The property is just like it looks on line. The housekeeper came twice while we were there 10 days and the place was very clean when we came and after she cleaned. The pool is lovely and it is close by to town and can call for a cab, go on the street and flag one down, or walk, which is not on easy walkways, so not advised. The Dominican Republic, specifically, Cabrete and Sousa are well kept secrets.

My wife and I just spent a very enjoyable week in Isabel's two-bedroom apartment. We loved the complex and the very friendly residents. The pool area is very nice with an area go get out of the sun (or the occasional rain shower). We were pleasantly surprised by the moderate temperatures (pleasantly warm and not humid). Long walks on the mostly deserted beach were just what the doctor ordered. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable and had all the necessities. Breakfast on the balcony with a view of the ocean through the trees, was a great way to start the day. Having Wi-Fi was great! Having cable TV was an added bonus. This area on the Dominican north coast is a well kept secret. We loved Cabarete with its beach restaurants. The food was great and affordable. We are already looking forward to our next vacation in Cabarete!

i stayed at orilla de mar in early nov. i was in a studio which had plenty of room for 2 people. gloria was right next door so it was easy to get something done if needed.ie coffee pot broke.the room was large with maid service 3 times in 12 days. rauol worked the front desk and spoke english. his brother tony also spoke english and drove a taxi. made getting around very easy.the ocean was warm and the pool cleaned every day. the other people that live there were very friendly. all in all was a great time and would recommend it.

My wife and I stayed there for 8 nights and had a great time. We stayed in the studio and it is very comfortable. It has a peekaboo view of the ocean, cold AC and cable TV. I brought my laptop and the WIFI signal was very good. Caberete town is very close and has everything. We rented a car and went up the coast a couple of times. It's worth renting a car and going up to Playa Grande It's so beautiful. You can also take a taxi up there for the day. We will rent there again Tony and Yuliana

My husband & I stayed in the studio apartment belonging to Isobel & her husband. IIt is on the top floor of the three storey building with a beautiful balcony with views of the lush gardens & glimpses of the ocean through the trees. The apartment was very clean & bright with a very comfortable bed & lovely patio doors which opened up onto the balcony We spent a lot of time on the beach & around the pool which had very comfortable loungers. There is a very nice restaurant & bar "Martinis" which is a beach walk of 10 minutes The ocean is a bit rough for swimming but we enjoyed playing in the waves, Isobel and her husband were very friendly and helpful with ideas on what to do and where to go Cabarete is a 20 min walk on the road & a bit longer by the beach. or the public bus which stops by request takes 5 mins. Janets supermarket in Cabarete has everything you would need .We had a wonderful time & would recommend the apartment

My family (husband and 2 children, ages 11 and 13) really enjoyed the condo complex. The condo is in a great location outside of Cabarete. The pool was wonderful and the beach is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We used the grill almost every night. My son plays the guitar, and one of the condo owners organized a Talent Show one night, so he could perform for everyone. We would definately love to come back and would recommend this place to friends. E.F

"Isabel was very helpful in the process for the rental. The condo was lovely, me and my friends enjoyed it a lot. The location was safe and secure and the people of Cabarete are wonderful. Even the dogs in this area are peaceful. The beach area is a bit windy, however, this section is great for kitesurfing. Enjoyed the condo greatly will return again no doubt."

Owner response:We are really fortunate that the condo complex is located on a beach area which is windy, making it really nice and pleasant year round unlike other locations in the Caribbean which get hot and humid.

Posted by Cindy on Homeaway Connect website: 5/5***** PEACEFUL surroundings Columbus MOM Columbus, Ohio. Date Submitted: April 06, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008 Very peaceful and quiet vacation. The location was perfect for a family vacation. We had the pool, and ocean to ourselves! Quiet evening strolls on the beach led us to WONDERFUL resturants on the beach... The town was a fast taxi ride away but we preferred to stay home and enjoy the quietness. Everyone was so helpful. The kids enjoyed the wireless computer hook up and the cable and kept them properly entertained. The Kite surfers were fun to watch. To get transportation arranged from the airport to the condo i suggest dominican airport transfers (found on the web). Would not suggest driving yourself from Santiago - through the mountains. These people are very reliable. To get to a grocery also requires a taxi ride, but the people at the grocery are very friendly, take credit cards, and speak English. 5/5***** Guestbook Comment entered on HomeawayConnect website by rentor: J.O. Coquitlam, BC. Date Submitted: April 01, 2007 Date of Stay: April 2007 The condo was bigger than my place back home! It's a penthouse (3rd floor) and is literally beachfront. Awesome, friendly community. FYI: There are two bedrooms, but one bedroom has two beds, so the place could easily accomodate at least 3 people, if not more if there are couples traveling. Definitely recommended. Isabel, Nancy and I greatly enjoyed our stay at your condo. The weather co-operated only 50% of the time, but we did have a balcony to stay out of the rain and still enjoy the outdoors. The condo is comfortable with all the basic needs. Jose met us at the airport and we used his taxi anytime we wanted to go anywhere. His speaking English was helpful anywhere we went. Raoul was helpful all along the way. Yolanda not only cleaned the condo, she also did our laundry. All three are very cheerful which adds to the traveling experience. We found the other renters and condo owners very friendly which also added more to our comfort. Thank you for your help in pulling our vacation together. M.H

Isabel; We had a really nice time at your condo. We found the place to be very well kept and the staff were courteous and very professional. please send my thanks to Phyllis at the front desk for helping me out one day with a ride to town to get some things for my sick wife. She could have just let us take a taxi but drove us herself to town and back. It was very much appreciated. Thanks so much. We would recommend this place to any of our friends. Ron

Hello Isabel, I just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to stay here. The condo is beautiful and is definitely somewhere we would like to come back to. Our flight leaves at 4 so I was wondering if we could stay until 1. also do you want me to leave the key at the front desk or on the kitchen table? Once again thank you.

This condo absolutely exceeded my expectations. It was very clean and comfortable, with lots of space and a large balconey. It could not have been closer to the beach, and the pool was beautiful. It was in a quiet location, and the on-site staff were always very helpful. Very easy to get into town walking on the beach, on the gua-gua, or by taxi.
