  I have enjoyed many opportunities to stay at Whispering Sands. Gerald always accommodates my crazy vacation schedule with very clean, cozy low-rise condos. He is great to work with and I feel extra safe knowing he and his wife are nearby and willing to accept my phone calls at any time, day or night (sorry about the mix up at 12:30 a.m!). I really enjoyed this condo, as it was on the first level and on the corner. I love the current color scheme and I found every aspect of the condo clean. I love sitting on the balcony enjoying the breeze or watching the fireworks at night. The beach is easily accessible and the pier and all the activities are within walking distance. Garden City is such a family friendly area. I will continue to make Whispering Sands my vacation destination choice. I feel very much at home when I'm there! Thanks Gerald and Joanne!

  This was our first time staying here and we loved it! Perfect place for my family! Our kids loved it!! Very clean place and Great location! Close to the pier and right acrosss the road from the ocean. The pool was cleaned daily and everyone was super nice. The owner, Mr.Baxter checked on us anytime he was there just to make sure everything was ok. We have found our permanet vacation home for sure, can't wait til next summer!!

  Stayed 3 days, NO PROBLEMS, owner even brought over extra sheets at last minute. Plan to stay again this year !!!

  This condo is beautiful and located across from the ocean. The location and the value are the best around. The condo was clean and had everything we needed and more. We loved our view and enjjoyed the pool. Great stay and will be back soon.

  The owner is a nice man and the unit is very conveniently located to the beach. The neighbors were nice and the area is not too noisy. No trouble finding parking. Clean pool. The walls are poorly painted (paint on floor and ceiling) very dark colors and the unit has small closed in feeling. Several areas of very poorly installed dry wall patches. The only bedroom is not private because the wall doesnt go all the way to the ceiling. No closet doors so you have a nice view of water heater. Found sand and mens underwear in bathtub. Bathroom door handle was loose and could not lock but my husband fixed it. Found cockroaches in kitchen area on the first day, went to store and bought can of spray, had to wash everything before we used it, and live out of our suitcases. Told maintenance Monday morning and they did nothing. The beds make a loud squeaky noises when you move on them. Carpet was so dirty got your feet dirty. I visted two other owners units while there and they were very nice. One joked I should take pic's of their unit and tell people thats were I stayed. I left my swimsuit and asked the owner to return it which he did two weeks later with my security deposit less the $6 to ship it, seriously the cockroach spray cost more than that. Friendly guy but needs to stop caring so much about the profit and take better care of your unit. I don't normally say something negative but I wish someone would of have been truthful on here before I wasted my money but more importantly my week with my family.

  Owner response: I have no idea why we got a bad review. We've been renting to people for 9 years and never had a complaint. The only thing I can think that got us a bad review was th elady was mad we didn't mail her $10.00 bathing suit back to her asap.

  We just got back from spending a week at the beach in one of Mr. Gerald's condos. It was really nice and i will definately be staying there again. Mr Gerald came by and introduced his self and he is a really nice person. I would definately recommend anyone to rent one of his condo's.

  Gerald Baxter's condo on the 2nd row in Garden City was great! Despite practically being on the beach, it still had a feel of "home" to it. There was plenty of room inside and the location is perfect because there was a public beach access across the street. Also, the pool was great to come back to after being on the beach for the afternoon. Additionally, the condo is within walking distance(4-5 blocks) of several great spots on Atlantic Ave(Sam's Corner, Jack DeBruhl's BBQ, and Causeway Grill & Raw Bar). And back the other way on N. Waccamaw, you are about a half mile from Conch Cafe, where they have an outside deck, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. We had the pleasure of meeting Gerald, who came by and introduced himself and would highly recommend this condo to anyone. We look forward to going back in the future!

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

  My son and a few of his friends stayed at your condo last summer. They had a wonderful time. My son went on and on about what a nice place it was and how nice you treated him and his friends. Thanks for giving some high school students the opportunity to prove that you don't have to be 25 to be responsible.

  Over the last 5 years I have rented several condos in the Wispering Sands complex. I have always been please with the service as well as the condition of the units inwhich i have stayed. The grounds are pleasing to the eye. The location is convienient, and most everything you need is within walking distance. My Wife and Children love it. We have already book for our family reunion/vacation for July 2009. We are expecting around 75 family members. Half of us will be renting condos at the Whispering Sands. Over the years i have come to know several of the owners (a fantastic group of people). Thank You all for such great memories.

  Mr Baxter we loved staying at your condo.I would recommend it to all my friends. we appreciate your hospitality and we love the location. close enough to everything.Yet not as crowded as myrtle beach.
